  • Wow!

  • When I was first diagnosed, I received CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), it has helped quite a bit, mainly as I have become more logical with it, as opposed to just reacting to the thoughts, I can now analyze/understand them.

  • This may seem a little science fiction, but, could a machine such as this ever be used to transfer information INTO a person's mind, or take things out for that matter?

  • How would this machine/program work with somebody who is troubled by intrusive thoughts?

I don't know if you understand about Intrusive thoughts, but, it's basically distressing thoughts randomly pop into a person's head, and they combat these thoughts with other, more positive thoughts, however in these situations, people aren't fully in control of their thoughts, and so would this cause problems?

  • First, if the distressing thoughts are causing you problems, you may want to see a psychologist, or physician for help.

  • You raise an interesting question as to whether people are in control of their thoughts. I think through meditation (which I equate as mind management) a person is able to get more control of their thoughts, concentrate for longer periods, and reduce a state where you cannot turn off your mind.

The EEG has been used in neuropsychotherapy to do such things. We are using it more for brain mining (looking for thought patterns).
