  • what i like about this vocalist is he sounds unique like his own voice imo

  • this song rules... norma kills!

  • really love this song. it just works really well.

  • they kinda sound like from autumn to ashes in this song

  • I agree they have change, and I still like them.. the album is actually pretty bad ass.

  • hahaha omg Norma Jean sucks so bad now. FAIL!!!!!!!! Im off to click on Face:Face and not this immitation Thrice garbage.

  • hey check out my friends marianas trench vocal cover

    youtube.com/watch?v=-yP4oCps81U&playnext_from=TL&videos=JAfJIke4kgY&feature=recentu

  • they remind me alot of rise against

  • @kevinoburrito2 Listen to Death of the Anti Mother. It's from the same album.

  • sounds kind of like a heavy senses fail.

  • meh...

  • Let me guess why you kids think they're worse now...less screaming?

    Yep thought so.

  • I haven't heard Norma Jean in a long time...this is not Norma Jean. This is crap.

  • @kurumako Listen to Death of the Anti Mother.

  • I agree!

  • looking forward to the new record, its supposed to be way heavier

  • this song is hoooott :D

  • its a great song i love it!

  • i love NJ but ever since dainel left they sound to me like new hardcore cookie cutter shit i loved them a hell of a lot more in their bless the martyr days

  • i saw them live AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! They have to be one of the best christian hardcore bands ever

  • probly not, theyr ok but thr r othrz who cn scuel thm like ABR... pwn :)

  • August Burns Red = epic band, epic lyrics, epic breakdowns.

  • @Raxrbleh yes mai frend, 4w3s0m3

  • @Raxrbleh ABR kicks ass. kudos to you sir.

  • @Raxrbleh ABR = overrated.

  • @Bananapielord noooooo

  • @Raxrbleh August Burns Red are a joke band, formed for the and by the musically uncultured.

  • @toxicmolar funny, looking at your videos, that's what exactly crossed my mind.

  • @Raxrbleh seen them live, FUCKING IMMENCE

  • @Raxrbleh kudos to you sir ABR are a kickass band

  • trueee.

  • i like all of norma jean's music

  • fuckn sick!

  • bad fucking ass song right here....

  • Yeah, I still like Norma Jean, But I miss the older stuff.

In my mind, O' God, The Aftermath was their best.

  • @UnholyNerd Listen to death of the anti mother, it's old school norma jean in the newest album

  • Yeah, but I mean. You can tell it's changed.

    I still prefer O' God.

  • Of course they have changed, it would be worse if they kept doing the same stuff for decades like some band called AC/DC

  • @childrenofthegrave1 or metallica.

  • Muy BUena Rola, Como Me cuadra jejeje exelente...

  • moy bein....

  • Truly fucking awesome. I liked Redeemer better but hey, it beats the hell out of Bless The Martyr.

  • ugh... not bad... not great.... go back to BTMKTC please!

  • Oh my goodness. This is so much better than their wannabe, offbeat pussy thrash. If you can't do metal right, don't do it at all. Haha and thrice's new stuff is awesome. Their hardcore is good, but so is their soft stuff. So quit your bitching. There's plenty of great metal out there, but not a lot of good rock.

  • this songs anoying but kinda good

  • The screaming has almost vanished from the band now. Good song and album though.

  • The new album is pretty beast but thier old stuff is good too. That's what I like about Norma Jean, unlike other bands, all thier stuff is equally awesome.

  • I wish more of their songs could be like this.

  • just gunna throw it out there...Oh god the aftermath wasn't bad but Redeemer was the perfect mix...best album in my opinion

  • bless the martyr kiss the child and ever live Josh Scogin

  • he's been in the chariot for an age, norma jean hasnt had him since that album lol

  • and I stand by it!

  • not a big fan of the stuff they did after oh god the aftermath, and even that was a stretch.... to me, they sound like every other screamo act now.... so sad

  • not making just saying this cos chino's on this album but the thing i like about norma jean is they seem to explore all possbilities wouldn't be shocked if the next album is brutal or even if they went down a similar road to thrice but atleast they haven't put out samey albums

  • please God dont let them go the thrice route

  • lol...what did Thrice do exactly?

  • changed their style of music

  • yeah lets hope they get heavy again

  • this is garbage! new found glory? werent these guys hardcore at one point? Wow

  • What are you talking about? Putman sings mostly in this song. And if you like old Norma Jean pick up a copy of The Chariot. (Which is also good, btw).

  • lol the chariot is nothing like this. the chariot is heavy metal pure screamo extremely heavy! they dont even have a beat half the time lol

  • norma jean has a sense of melody n throw a lot of textures, chariot is nothing but a beat down.

    not to knock either band

  • yeah I never like old norma jean

  • how in the world do you not like old norma jean... it was extremely EPIC!!!!

  • no I talking about how the old norma jean almost never has singing but screaming

  • lol they were actually screamers in the beginning

green day gargles my balls BTW

  • awesome band!

please check out mine and tell us what we needa work on

  • I think they're better since they combined with the chariot. They were a little to heavy before. The vocals are so much better now.

  • drum intro reminds me of U2 - Bloody Sunday

  • Everyone needs shut their fucking mouths. Norma Jean doesn't suck now. They're still as great a band as they were when they started. You all just have a one track mind. Evolution is bad to you. So they changed their sound a bit? Big deal. Tons of bands do it. You can play the same music your whole life. If you did, it'd get boring. So if you really love Norma Jean, support them, no matter what music they make.

  • @neverender888 Its evolution to main stream is what i think others were talking about. Im not for it but hey. every band needs to sell out to get paid right? cuz thats what they make music for right?

  • @neverender888 hell yeah. like when emery put out I'm only a man, everyone was flipping shit because they weren't super emo. I was like chill- appreciate the musicality.

  • @neverender888 Yeah either people are angry for a band having a monotonous sound, or mad for them having changes done.

  • @neverender888 this would make more sense if the band had simply evolved, and not replaced half of its lineup. This isn't the evolution of a sound, it's the restructuring of a band. So, in essence, there is no compulsion to support the band when they make immensely poorer music because they are not the same band anymore.

  • @JCS1Cor517 You raise a good point. However, a band does evolve when the lineup is changed. You can't expect a band to retain their exact sound when new members join. Take AFI for example. When Jade and Hunter joined before The Art Of Drowning, they changed from straight up punk being a lot more melodic and dark. I would say Norma Jean matured more than anything. They certainly don't suck, as Meridional has proven upon it's release.

  • @neverender888 I disagree completely. If you don't like a band's new sound, just don't listen to them anymore. You don't have to "support a band" just because you liked their old music. I love some bands, but if they started playing country hip-hop or some garbage like that, I would completely bail on them. I don't think NJ suck now, but I can understand fans that are disappointed with the direction they have gone.

  • @BurningBeard22 Very true. The point I was trying to make was if bands refine their sound nowadays, people get all upset. Yet, if they made the same music their entire career, that would also make people bitch. Norma Jean realized they couldn't keep playing Botch-influenced metal all, so they mixed it up and the results were awesome. Now they're heavier than ever on Meridional. Unfortunately, some fans will be disappointed, but people start bands to make music for themselves, not others.

  • @neverender888 It's nothing new, dude. Bob Dylan was booed off stage when he incorporated electric guitar into his music and lost TONS of fans. People listen to particular artists because they like what they are doing. If that changes, some people will always get mad while others will like it. It's all a risk vs. reward like any decision in life. Bands should just play what they want and be passionate about it and all the rest will fall into place.

  • @BurningBeard22 Couldn't agree more with you on that last part.

  • i do believe Bless the Martyr...was the best. Redeemer was great too. I dont think I'd care for this much if Corey wasnt such a great vocalist. He ties everything in together perfectly. long live the cha cha riot

  • watch the face:face video, then watch this, then ???, then son I am disappoint

  • so gay. they suck now. they should go back to being all crazy with weird lyrics like the 1st and 2nd album

  • This isn't even metal?! Its like poopoo dark mainstream.

  • yes it is metal! did you hear the second verse, its pretty heavy in my opinion, and if it wasnt metal, then you would hear it on local radio stations!

  • No, this is Bossa Nova.

  • hahaha

  • That opening drum beat is SICK.

  • Sick...if you're 5 yearls old...or mentally retarded.

  • LoL...for shame. I bet both a 5 year old AND a mentally retarded person could spell "years" correctly.

  • sounds like...thrice...

  • i have decided that the anti mother sucks. bad.

Bless the Martyr and kiss the child forever.

  • i think is one of the beautiful songs i have evre heard ... i fucking love this song ... is norma jean however

    great song!

    i love it

  • OMG what kind of guitar is that??????

  • im pretty sure they both play first acts but i could be wrong

  • =( dislike

  • the worst norma jean song ever

  • Gotta LOVE the guitar riff though

  • NOOOOOOOO THEY'VE GONE MAINSTREAM :(

  • What's up with that?! Every band tends to do that. nowadays

  • better mainstream than scene, ya fag.

  • they weren't previously "scene" dumbass they were METAL/METALCORE. Do you even know what scene is? and why did you call me a cigarette?

  • they sound too much like senses fail now, they used to sound so much harder

  • this can't be norma jean ;/

  • lulz, the main dude in this video is a good friend of mine. *feels important even though clearly isn't*

  • I feel you LOL ;)

  • old norma jean is way better

  • I agree and disagree at the same time. Old Norma Jean with Josh is fucking amazing, but newer stuff with Corey has it's own sound. The band in my mind has every right to do whatever it wants. They have progressed so much.

  • This was the first Norma Jean song I ever heard.

  • i still like it

  • Was at the show April 4, absolutely in love! played awsome, nice croud, stoked to see you again ,come back!

  • if we're talking about bands changing their sound. anyone a fan of hopesfall? wtf happened to those guys

  • Please Listen to

"and there will be a swarm of hornets"

and tell me they have sold out

they didnt sell out they just wanted to change their sound so that they wouldnt be as bland as every other hardcore band out there

    open your ears

  • they have sold out, like most hardcore bands do these days, gay

  • I never really got the whole selling out thing, I mean, what are they advertising? soap? Many artists experiment with different styles to reach a wider audience, I mean, that's the point, right? Getting new kids interested in w/e it is you're trying to throw across to them. If you're in a band because you just wanted to play music, then why even bother make a cd/go on tours/ so on and so on. 'They have sold out'..yo that's so old...stop bitching...

  • You're comment is amazing, I completely agree with you. What is the point of making art if its not gonna be put on display. The whole point of art is to get a message out there and ultimately affect the world. If you aren't constantly evolving and fine tuning your message you should just call it quits cos that message is going nowhere.

  • With their "progression" Norma Jean has given up their defining sound. People who hear this new music who weren't NJ fans when Bless the Martyr and O God came out might like it. It's good music. It's not Norma Jean though, unfortunately. If it was another band I would like it but this is dissappointing.

  • eh..you change band members, you get a different sound..

  • its a mixture of underoath and chiodos

  • I can't make out the guest vocals in this

  • lol, same here! its kinda hard to understand him. i know the chorus starts with Yesterday, lol. This song is awesome, its kinda different for Norma Jean to do like a Melodic Metalcore song, kinda like Killswitch Engage, where they scream the verses and sing the choruses. I like it. I never really liked Norma Jean to tell you the truth. I only liked one song, which is Memphis Be Laid To Waste! Thats an awesome song. They remind me of Underoath and i dont like them.

  • What is this, Norma Jean's impression of Thrice?

  • no, id say its Norma Jean's Robots 3 Humans 0.......

  • Very interesting video. I like it,

and WOW Norma Jean has done a little bit of growing up since "Redeemer" !

    Nice job, NJ. :]

  • just discovered this band yesterday. this is awesome.

  • This Song Is Alright, But Their Old Stuff Is Wayy More Kickass..

  • i get to see these guys in 6 freaking days!!!!!

  • I don't know about you, but I like this song.

Doesn't matter if they've changed or what, as long as the music appeals to you. =)

  • god this album is not them at all i hate it

  • im pretty sure that a band writes music that they feel not music to appease little sellout douche bags like you........

  • sellout douche bag?sure that is mature of you to say, all i said was this album is a different direction then their other stuff and that i hate it, i never said anything about them making music to "appease me", but thank you for your time

  • love this song

  • daamn...they're soooo good...hope to see them live somehow...

  • i saw them last night. talking about brutal when they play live. it was sweet!

  • awesome

  • Yeah, live show breaks the bank man.

I know pleny of old "rap hating" men who enjoyed tech n9nes live show with me. Norma Jean kills it. Hope they do Memphis will be laid to waste to close there show like they did here!

  • I love the direction they've gone. :)

  • if you think they suck you havent seen them live.

    stupidfucks.

  • i fuckin love this song!!!! everytime i hear it it gives me chills!

  • Good song. I do miss the screaming a little, but you can understand the lyrics better now. I would really like to see them put out some songs that have a good mix of singing and screaming. (Kind of like Haste the Day)

  • Great freakin song love it keep going

  • fuck all you assholes that are hating on norma jean they are a great band and will always be so go watch those other videos instead of talking shit here

  • your all fuckin idiots its one song you tools...you cant listen to 45 seconds of a single song off one album an say a band sucks...

  • hey guys if ya like august you should go check out Nick Falls From The Roof its worth your time !

  • even though I absolutely love old norma jean, especially bless the martyr, I don't hate the newer lighter stuff, it's very well put together, some people just need to learn how to appreciate all music even less hardcore shit

  • Whoa, Norma Jean totally sucks now. I'm going to go listen to August Burns Red.

  • lmfao

  • well, first off, your name has a 666 in it, implying you are confused about who to listen to. August Burns Red and Norma Jean have STRONG religious undertones that couldn't be more obvious. If you don't like their music, it is probably because they don't suck ass like bands such as Deicide, Slayer, Job for a GayBoy, and Cannibal Corpse. and sorry guys out there, but yes, Slayer does indeed blow. You don't have to conform to liking them because other metal heads say you have to.

  • Well, first off, you should probably do a little research before you go bashing bands such as Slayer and Deicide as they have both played a huge part in the making of most sub genres of metal. Although I know Norma Jean are in more of a punk direction than anything, they have still through some band or another not necessarily Deicide or Slayer but other bands which have taken influence on these bands developped their sound.

  • everything is relative. to you, slayer sucks, to me slayer sucks, but do you think slayer sucks to slayer, or to people who grew up listening to slayer? no, and I respect that. I hate this crap new norma deftones jean. but thats my own opinion. if you like it you like it, great for you, but i miss o god the aftermath.

people opinions and the internet dont mix.

  • always best videos

  • wow boring as hell the chariot is way better

  • ????

um, i have a bit of confusion....

    um, where's the screaming?

where did the beloved Norma Jean scream go? :(

  • umm.. to all the other songs on the anti-mother

  • ??? where the hell have you been? Josh left a LONG time ago...(old norma jean)

  • i KNOW Josh left, i just assumed that they'd still have screaming, fact being that they're metalcore. and this would be the first song i've listened to on the Anti-Mother, i havent had time to give the whole album a listen.

  • i think the reason o god and redeemer even found places as a release was because of kiss the martyr. They kinda peaked with that release.

  • yeah i think its important to know that bands change cause they do what they want. personally i like O God the Aftermath and Redeemer, but this album is awesome too

this video is cool. they are a great band

  • Whatever they changed, I like it, I can actually hear what they're saying now haha

  • wtf happened to NJ :/?

  • hm..

Singing sound similar to A Wilhelm Scream and the song name is similar to their song called Jaws 3, Humans 0..

    HAX

  • lol actually that song is called Jaws III, People 0. I will admit it's similar but only when it comes to the name. the songs sound completely different.

  • haha i see what you mean :P

  • blah, blah, blah who gives a dam fuck just enjoy the music and that's it if you don't like it listen to it

no matter what Norma jean is always going to kick butt

    so fuck off

  • i've tried my hardest to comprehend exactly what the point of this video is..it's ridiculously confusing. And fuck all thats hating on NJ..they've forever reigned epic, and forever will. VS The Anti-Mother is an awesome album, no better than the old, but it's just new. Everybody changes, everyone goes through different phases. They've just progressively stayed awesome throughout the years so piss off =/

  • If you watch the making of it'll tell you. It's about how life takes you threw many doors and some are good and some are bad.

  • okay. but old shit 100 times better

  • I really like this song. The singer sounds like a more hardcore version of Dustin Kensrue, which is sick as hell. Norma Jean's older stuff wasn't as tight and confined- sounding though. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

  • I dunno, I think they've got some possibility with the more singing direction, but I will say, the scream parts of this cd are better than the singing for the most part. He repeats the same 2/3 note melodies. When they got Chino on that one song, though, to give some real melody, the sound was pretty cool. It's good they are branching out their sound. They are original enough to have no easy comparisons.

  • is it just me, or do these guys sound a lot like Senses Fail?

  • it's you.

  • god this song is shit

  • sadly, this is probably the best song on the cd

  • you had it coming from The Redeemer, they had this kind of voice in some songs

  • Sounds like Dustin Kensrue with a cold... :(

    but it's still cool :D

  • these videos take me on a rocket ride
