I have had educated Mexican friends and have worked with people from poor background. This is what their educated class tell. Most of Mexican immigrants here (US) were farmers or belonged to poor families (not to be sin but a reality). That's why seeing them as laborers is a typical sight in US and very true for majority of them. The rich and middle class remain in Mexico.
