  • Blah Blah Blah , He won , He is a God among Gods . And He was on top of the world this Day. Suck It Up. We are lookin One of Nascars Greatest Drivers.

  • I don't think he led all the laps BECAUSE of the plates, but I do recall the announcers saying something during the race that he tested at Loudon with plates for several hundred laps before the running of this race, and THAT is why he destroyed the field (because nobody tested with a plate package at Loudon anywhere near as much as he did...) However, I don't believe the idea to solve the problem of stuck throttles by plating the cars made sense.

  • Plates=Awsome race i wish there was 6 laps more.

  • Will always luv u Burton 100% better than gordon

  • This was a total farce, Burton leading all laps? Burton? Nothing against him but he just don't do that.

One of the most retarded ideas this plates at this track.

  • The only good thing about this race was Dick Berggren up in the booth lol

  • This was a horrendous pile of crap to watch. Send this video to everyone who wants restrictor plates at every track.

  • I love that 97 John Deere Green-Yellow Ford.

  • I always liked the sound of the old ristrictor plate engines

  • ya, i dont see why restrictors would do anything, i mean i know they slow the car down....but since they ALL have em....it would be like ALL of em not having one...they all have the same disadvantage

  • THIS WAS THE YEAR WHEN NASCRAP STARTED GOING DOWN THE TOILET

  • @kmtdog1 wrong

  • Excellent Race

  • I miss these cars.

  • where is this? I thought it was phoenix at first but then I didn't see the tunnel turn on the back stretch, and Phoenix isn't big enough to have plates on cars. But then again, wherever this is, isn't big enough to have restrictor plates... Is it new hampshire? like seriously it's not big enough to have restrictor plates.

  • this isent that boring sure there wasnt passing but there bunched up and if u watch this race now its still no passing so its just naturally boring

  • burton lead all the laps at a busch race at darlington too

  • This is why restrictor plates is a very bad idea at a track like New Hampshire. The only guy that's capable of passing Burton is Earnhardt, and Dale is a lap down (lol).

It's a very good thing that NASCAR implemented a kill-switch because plates anywhere but Talladega and Daytona is bound to be awful.

  • Burtons just great, the best of all actually

  • wow only 14 cars were on the lead lap lol, the only car to pass Jeff was Dale Sr. who was a lap down for some odd resason.

  • It's so weird hearing those restrictor plated engines whine at a track like this.

  • boy how much would that have sucked for jeff if he had blown a tire on the last corner of the last lap?

  • @talladega24fan Us fans are used to it by now. -.-

  • @talladega24fan Us fans are used to it by now. -.-

  • @talladega24fan Us fans are used to it by now. -.- Lol

  • i think Dale was the ONLY guy to completely pass Jeff all day

  • I like Jeff Burton, (then again, I like every driver in Nascar, except Kyle Busch) but that was a boring race to watch (then again, New Hampshire is always a boring track to watch a race), yet, I did admire Burton's achievement that day, not many can say that they led every lap in a race.

  • i remeber that race that was a good one i miss racing like that

  • nice job jeff, one of his best races in his career.

  • Another race where a driver led all the laps, last year at Richmond, where Hamlin led all but 1 cautionlap, that is until he cut a tire down and finishd 20th. Wow, that is shitty luck.

  • Burton was so dominant that the cars had no get up and go like they did unrestricted remember. They were slow to get up to speed and the hp of all the cars were similar so no one can get the speed to pass someone. Did Burton have a good car, yes, but was he leading every lap dominant car, by far no.

  • lol ppl r thinking that Earnhardt lead a lap cause he was infront of burton but he was a lap down.

for once he was a lap down. No this was not the apocolypse. LOL

  • he DID lead every lap. He got passed once but lead again by the time he crossed the start finish line lol

  • burton has big boobies!

  • whar are you talking about?

  • Wow your weird

  • What the fuck?

  • I thought Burton lead every lap?

  • He did lead every lap.

Earnhardt was just a lap down.

  • I agree with JoeyNinersFan burton is the besr

  • i remember swithcing the chanel to british comedy that day it had more excitement then that race day

  • Also, Burton's pit crew had to be awesome to get him out first. It's not just Jeff, if his crew had had one bad stop, that would've ruined everything. This is one of favorite races.

  • what ever happened to Chad Little?

  • At one point he announced for Speed Channel. Not sure what he is doing now.

  • Anyone else think that Jeff Burton is probably the best driver in NASCAR, at least in terms of consistency?

  • Indeed he is. The man is a model of not only consistency, but sportsmanship. He is no doubt the greatest ambassador of his sport. He is smart, patient, well spoken, methodical, consistent and last but not least....humble. I'm sure many would love to see him win a championship!

  • He is a younger Mark Martin.

  • Agree my friend!

  • I do, Burtons the best

  • it was the restrictor plates, i remeber that race, it was boring as hell

  • They didn't run restrictor plates at this track did they?...

  • They did run restrictors temporarily at NHIS.

  • @Speedfreely: I guess because of the deaths of Kenny Irwin and Adam Petty (stuck throttle)...

  • Comment removed

  • I always hear that this race was boring because Burton led every race. Seems to me that the tight racing made the racing at New Hampshire much better than it normally is. And the reason why Burton led every lap is because he simply dominated.

  • Or this was the disaster that was restrictor plate racing that year...only wire-to-wire winner ever.

  • no its not Cale Yarborough led all 500 laps at Bristol one year.

  • OF course Burton had a good car and that helped him lead every lap, but the restrictor plates made it so passing was very restricted and all the cars could do was run like they did.

  • burton owns

    go jimmie johnson!

  • hahaha lube lols

  • ELI GOLD

  • It was because of the restrictor plates than Burton lead every lap. The cars couldn't do anything but run like they did

  • this race gets a bad rep because 1 guy led every lap

    so what

  • you people that keep saying he led all the laps due to the restrictor plates obviously dont know anything about racing. its not like they were holding it wide open all the way around like at daytona or talladega. jeff burton just had the car handling really well. new hampshire has always been hard to pass at even today.

  • i went to this race too and was pretty bored until earnhardt tried to get his lap back. looking back though it was pretty cool to see burton lead every lap

  • Poster of this video is right. Burton lead all 300 laps because of him being a good racer, not because of the restrictor plates.

  • i went to this race!

  • was it fun? I wanted to go to this race but hey i was only 5 at the time!!!

  • i loved it, i wanted earnhard to win, but burtons cool too

  • i was there i was only 12 at the time great race

and ill be there this weekend to

  • Olden days were awsome...

  • it woulda been funny aas hell if jeff had led all but 1 lap

  • ted musgrave at gateway in 2005

  • He really would have been booed if he did that.

  • Earnhardt shoulda wrecked that SoB Burton.

  • Restrictor Plates At A Short Track?????!!!!! Ha-Ha!!!!!

  • they did it because Adam Petty and Kenny Irwan Jr both died at that track in the same year.

  • As much as you think it's rediculous harvick293107 is correct. and NHIS now NHMS isnt a short track. It's over One mile so its considered a Speedway.

  • but the turn banking is short track

  • Thanks to the restrictor plates, Jeff Burton absolutely dominated that race.

  • Yet another race Earnhardt got screwed in, in 2000.

  • By the way, I guess you want restrictor plates at all tracks? And in case you're wondering, Bobby Labonte ran 2nd for almost the entire race, and the top 5 finished in nearly exactly the same order they started the race.

You think that sounds like good racing?

  • alright screw this i'll post the end where the announcers say it was a total success

  • Why do you need restrictor plates for little tracks like that? Are restrictor plates better than HANS devices? And, I think they might have said that because they have to give the race compliments for everything, and aren't allowed to say negative things about it.

  • .....they did it because Adam Petty and Kenny Irwan Jr both died at that track in the same year.

  • To add on to your point they did it because of that reason yes but they also did it because they belived the main cause was the throttle sticking (It might of actually been that) and prevented them from slowing.

  • @mattbachman1 Total sucess my ass.

  • @wirbelwindbattleship Still more exciting then some of the crap we got in the last four years.

  • This raced sucked. They should never use restrictor plates at New Hampshire. This race fuckin sucks. Nascar should give everyone their money back. And NASCAR should kiss everyoneys asses. I am fuckin pissed off.

  • god.....they did it because Adam Petty and Kenny Irwan Jr both died at that track in the same year.

  • Your pissed off over an event that happend 8 years ago? Chill the hell out moron.

  • you mean 2 people dying at the same track? plates should have been used and were

  • So do you think the plates were a better solution than the HANS device?

  • @mattbachman1 they didnt die because of speed, they died because of going straight into the wall and not bouncing off causing the driver to get full force breaking the driver's neck

  • there were 2 events in new hampshire in 2000, this one and the thatlook. com 300

  • not even Jeff Gordon has led all the laps in a race

  • Who cares..this race produced no passing. Michael Waltrip would lead all the laps under those condictions..this is no big deal

  • hey just so you know i have the part of this race were the announcers all agree that the restrictor plates were a huge success BURTON JUST HAD A GOOD CAR

  • I think you are saying that because you are a Burton fan.

  • But no offense to you.

  • i think ur a muffin

  • @mattbachman1 I agree and disagree, for one, THERE ARE NO RESTRICTOR PLATES ON HAMPSHIRE DUMBASS, but leading an entire race is something and it doesn't matter what the conditions are, It might not have been exciting, but you got to bet that Jeff Burton was sweating the last 50 laps out, almost like a pitcher's perfect game, (only Randy Johnson has threw a no-hitter, a perfect game and a 20 strikeout game in his career)

  • @mattbachman1 NOTE: It was 2000. They had to do this because two drivers died. However, people were not a fan of it and while the announcers called it a success, obviously NASCAR didn't think it was because they pulled it and I don't believe the drivers or fans though it was either. Also, the announcers have since, if I recall, not thought highly of plates. I know the drivers don't. Look at the crashes at Daytona & Talladega since 2000. We'd have a potential of those everywhere.

  • I'm a huge Burton fan, and I think it was one hell of an accomplishment. It's wasn't boring if you were cheering for the #99 (now #31)

  • I was at this race. Worst race ever.

  • this looked like it was a great race...

  • Jeff Burton led all 300 laps. There was no passing at all. It was the race they ran with restrictor plates. Horrible.

  • Read the description buddy there was a crapload of passing-more than there is there today burton just had a great car

  • thats what she said

  • Keep believing what you want. That race was awful that day. New Hampshire will never hold a candle to tracks that should still have a race date, North Carolina and North Wilkesboro.

  • i do agree that the rock should have both dates back but this was better than most hampshire races today

  • "dude" read the description all you want but i was there, IT SUCKED. Period. The announcers are saying that because they need to keep an audience. You really think they'd say the race sucked on air? Of course they're gonna make it sound better than it was.
