@pelicanus11 you can't compare gymnasts from different eras. If Cata did the skills Olga and Nadia did, she would not be in the beam finals in these days. She is very grateful for her time, when you compare her with other girls from today.

Yet Catalina Ponor did not make any errors at all and neither did Carly Patterson who took silver,...I always think if only Catalina did bars, she could have seriously contendered for the AA and so could Cheng Fei.

With "Catalina was perfect", I just wanted to say that she did a very clean routine on BB, I haven't saw any wobbles there. And she stuck that dismount. You said "Low landing is a deduction in gymnastics..." like she was overscored with a perfect 10. it's obvious that she get a 9.787 because of the low landing!! I totally respect your opinion, but for me she wasn't overscored.

Fantastic! This is a classic romanian beam routine.. like Nistor and Izbasa's routines in Beijing.. Romanian gymnast are wonderful.. they deserve more than 2 medals in 2008 Olympics..

Shawn is the type of power gymnast that I like, she doesn't have the build to be this graceful but she has some artistry and style..She is so much nicer to watch than Carly Patterson. It is possible to like both the artists and the powerhouses...especially power gymnasts like Shushunova, Prodnova, Podkayova (who has both), Oana Ban, Zamo and now Mustafina who is also able to use both power and grace...
