  • filmed in glorious 1p at 3ffps.

  • if i had a dollar for every pixel in this video... i would have one dollar

  • Ryan did steroids like Clemmens, Schilling and a few other pitchers who SUDDENLY put on 20 pounds of muscle and throwing no hitters again over 40 when the guy was fading in the late 80's. But No! It's just Barry Bonds and Mark Macquire.....yeah right. please

  • @aitraining horse shit

  • Remember when this was high cuality?

  • @MIVECturbo2 remember when quality was spelt with a Q?

  • @wiiman0001 hahahhahahaha i remember....

  • SIIIICKKK slider !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kelly Gruber was good for only a couple of seasons until 1990. After that, he was average at best.

  • good thing the video quality is so good, otherwise I couldn't tell what was going on

  • filmed with a calculator

  • that pitch was nasty, i wish i knew how to throw a warp ball

  • "really?" should be the title of this video...for actually uploading this 5 sec awkward clip

  • I was named after Nolan Ryan!!!

  • Nolan Ryans not even the best ever, look at christy mathewson's numbers. Rivera, the best closer? Yeah.

  • @skydome29 what would Rivera do if he came in the game in the &th or 8th inning like real closers used to do ? Its comparing two different things entirely . and for that matter can't anyone come up with a better comparison to Ryan than Mariano rivera ?

  • @RisingSon011 probably well 3 innings not 2, but given two innings he would be as dominant, he's shown himself to be successful starting in the 8th or 9th. How about a better comparison being nolan ryan and another starting pitcher?

  • @skydome29 I do have all respect for Mariano , I think he is the best in the biz as the modern type closer . But It is hard to equate what they do now with what used to be required of a pitcher , starter or otherwise . I think Mariano would do well in any role personally . And yes I think if someone is going to be mentioned in the same breath as Ryan they should be a starter at least , one who is a modern workhorse . If A guy pitched 285 innings now it would be a risk to the "investment ".

  • Nice slideshow.

  • Top 5 pitchers of the last 50 years

    1.Mariano River

    2.Pedro Martinez

    3.Nolan Ryan

    4.Bob Gibson

    5.Sandy Koufax

  • @tatertots00 I know 5's a small number, but no Greg Maddux? Guy won 4 Straight Cy Youngs even though Pedro almost did the same thing.

  • @tatertots00 perhaps but not in that order

  • @Raymster17 Mariano is NUMBER ONE with out a doubt. But I agree 2-5 +Maddux Unit Carlton Lee Eckersly are all very close

  • @tatertots00 nah man i dnt think he goes over pedro after all he IS a starter

  • @Raymster17 Mariano is the best period. Inning for Inning not body is even close.

  • @tatertots00 Riveras an awesome closer, the best ever....but 7 no hitters dude...7. Its one thing to pitch to three hitters in an inning and go home, but to have to go through the lineup three or four straight times 35 times a season is different.

  • @tatertots00 no

  • @39khammond also Kerry Wood and Mark Prior...both suck

  • anyone got and good nolan clips?

  • Nasty Powercurve

  • Is this MacGruber's Dad? that movie is awesome dude

  • i have his book on how to get your mind body and perspective on pitching the way he used to it was a curve he threw because he had 3 pitches 4 seam change and a nasty curve

  • the loook liked a slider

  • where's Gino Petrali?

  • I go to school with Kelly Gruber's son...

  • Must be the day he threw no-hitter #7

  • What was the point of posting this video???

  • To show us what a NASTY NASTY curveball looks like!

  • @Anglovox that isnt a curve ball ... thats just what a real 100 mph 4 seam looks like.

  • @Anglovox easily, the Nastiest curveball thrown by any pitcher to EVER play the game.

  • @kace842 what??? hav you ever heard of strasburg???

  • @skamdad64 dude, you're comparing a rookie with too much hype to the GREATEST pitcher of all time? Seriously? Nolan Ryan's curveball makes Ryan Strasburg's look like a changeup.

  • @kace842 his name's stephen strasburg, not ryan, and youre right, strasburg is fantastic, and could easily be the next ryan, but he needs a lot of work and could also die off fairly quickly

  • @kace842 @39khammond That doesn't take anything away from him having a really good curveball. If you've seen video of both pitch you would agree that there breaking balls are extremely comparable in shape and depth.

And what does it mean that he makes his curve look like a changeup? Makes no sense.

  • @skamdad64 Strasburg is finished

  • @Anglovox Curveball? Haha....

  • everyone thought he was gonna throw a fastball, and he broke off a curve..

  • That's my cousin there, wielding that lumber! :-)

  • really?

  • @jhnnydngrsly - and fanning

  • @jhnnydngrsly Gruber was the man

  • Strike!!!!!!
