Hi Friend, my only comment is to remark that even Darwin himself offered fair critique of his theories. The evolution of the amazingly complex eye (not to fail to mention the brain, heart, etc.) and lack of transitional fossils are both good examples of evidence that challenges Darwin's legacy. Would you disagree with that?
I can easily see that you have all your "knowledge" about evolution from Ray Comfort and other creationist liars. What you say about the complexity of the eye is based on THE oldest and most refuted creationist quote-mine of Darwin, and you would have known it if you ever had read Origin of the Species yourself (assuming that you're a honest person, creationists usually aren't, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt).

By the way, I tried posting a response to everyone's question about the contents of the Origin book we handed out ...long story short the books we handed out were COMPLETE. Some of the 1st printing were in fact shortened ...but that was to save money (since Ray was having so many printed), not to try and hide anything. With that said, I do agree that was unfortunate.
I regret that any of them were shortened, and can understand why you and others felt that was underhanded on our part, even though we didn't omit those chapters with a deceitful motive. Evolution is not a religion. I can't understand why that argument exist. Evolution is tax supported in the way that all sciences are supported. I do not worship evolution. I understand it as the origins of the species on this planet but I do not worship it or any aspect of it. This is a baseless claim. I have read Origin of Species from front to cover and did not feel we were misrepresenting him. Also, those who know me would say I am quite knowledgable in the fields of neuroscience and marine ecology (quite unrelated, I realize), and yet you're suggesting that persons such as myself (who gave out the book) are ignorant of Darwin's work & science.
Have any of the people in this video actually read the unabridged version of the book you are handing out? Have any of the people in this video studied the scientific research that has taken place over the last 150 years since this books first publication? Does anyone in this video have a firm grasp on the facts of the theory this new introduction seeks to discredit?
Those are fair questions. Yes, I have read Origin completely, and am a life-long student of science. I actually do work in neuroscience and genetics, as a vocation. Anyhow, FYI, our aim was not to discredit the idea of evolution (adaptation) thru natural selection, nor survival of the fittest, etc., but rather to give attention to the idea that Darwin himself allowed criticism of his theories, and even did so himself, in ways that have been provable/disprovable (such as the fossil record).
In that case, I can't complain too much about the editing. I heard that it was missing about three chapters worth of text. If that's not the case then it's not as bad as it I first thought. I would still like to know if those involved are aware of the 150 years of research that support Darwin's early claims. If they are aware, have they chosen to ignore it or does Comfort's intro deal with this as well? My other problem with the intro is the quote mining and attempts to link Hitler and Darwin.

Name one lie of evolution that is demonstrably true that matters. I read the first few paragraphs of the intro online and it's just a regurgitation of demonstrably false or irrelevant arguments against the idea of evolution and is an overall perversion of what evolution and science are.
Anyone can throw mud and indulge in name calling, which is what most of the commentary, here, amounts to. I believe you would be more civil if you were truly interested in finding the truth regarding Darwin & his theory. With that said, I suspect some of you really are genuinely interested. I trulu doubt you can espouse for his assertions. I found the intro on their website and about 15 pages in I saw many inconsistencies. Even the part about Darwin becoming an atheist on the Beagle but by Comforts own admission he believed in God 30 years later when 'Origin.." was published. He later writes that Archaeraptor "fooled" the scinetififc community when teh fossil was nover published in the scientific literature - National Geographic is not a scientific journal.
Your slander and vitriol do more to hurt your message than to promote it. Your wildly venemos tongues hint at bias ...the very thing you accuse us of. Why not use logic and plain reason to belittle Ray Comfort, or facts to refute the 50-page intro if that's what you desire to do? That would be more persuasive, and more productive. I got my book at my university, and I could have went to town with the people. But they were nice and they were just doing their job. So I felt bad and didn't do anything like rip pages or diss them. It would have been pretty dumb.

Has any part been omitted or censored?
If complete do the distributers realise that they are promoting the very book that they tried so hard to omit from schools

why omit any of it if it is in the spirit of free thought, and by the way evolution is a fact of science backed up by almost all aspects or fields of science. all of medical biology is based off it. so please dont use a doctor or any meds as they are all products of evolutionary theory. creationism is a myth of your religion.

Jeremy how can you prove jesus said anything in the bible. do to the fact it was not written by his disciples it was written by educated Greeks long after jesus death not illiterate Aramaic speaking fishermen. marks gospel stops at the women finding the tomb empty that is it never telling any one. the rest of the story was and much later. if you study history you would know only 8 books can be said to be written by the authors. and 7 of those are from paul. this is why half of pauls writings

The intro talks about Darwin's big influence on Hitler. What was the point of this? Are you trying to blame Hitler's actions on Darwin? There wasn't even any mention of Darwin in Mein Kampf.
It's one thing to critique a person's ideas, but this intro attacks the character of a man who isn't here to defend himself. The intro contains a great deal of Ad hominem.

I have studied the historical Jesus for most of my life and am curious why you would be so passionate in seeking to prove either his non-existence, or his fraudulent claims.

Hi Ancient, I assume you feel Darwin's theory is complex? Otherwise we would not have misrepresented him in the materials handed out? I have read Origin of Species from front to cover and did not feel we were misrepresenting him. Also, those who know me would say I am quite knowledgable in the fields of neuroscience and marine ecology (quite unrelated, I realize), and yet you're suggesting that persons such as myself (who gave out the book) are ignorant of Darwin's work & science.

Have any of the people in this video studied the scientific research that has taken place over the last 150 years since this books first publication? Those are fair questions. Yes, I have read Origin completely, and am a life-long student of science. I actually do work in neuroscience and genetics, as a vocation. Anyhow, FYI, our aim was not to discredit the idea of evolution (adaptation) thru natural selection, nor survival of the fittest, etc., but rather to give attention to the idea that Darwin himself allowed criticism of his theories, and even did so himself, in ways that have been provable/disprovable (such as the fossil record).

In that case, I can't complain too much about the editing. I heard that it was missing about three chapters worth of text. If that's not the case then it's not as bad as it I first thought. I would still like to know if those involved are aware of the 150 years of research that support Darwin's early claims. If they are aware, have they chosen to ignore it or does Comfort's intro deal with this as well? My other problem with the intro is the quote mining and attempts to link Hitler and Darwin.

The intro claims we should fear this concept of hell, comparing it to jumping out of an airplane. Why should I fear this "hell" and hold it in the same regard as a danger that is clearly seen in front of me? The airplane metaphor is so severely flawed.
Comfort rambles off a list of scientists to support his ideas... almost all of which were dead long before evolution was even proposed.
I read the intro, dismissed it, and tore the pages out. Thanks for the free copy of Origin of the Species.

I trulu doubt you can espouse for his assertions. I found the intro on their website and about 15 pages in I saw many inconsistencies. Even the part about Darwin becoming an atheist on the Beagle but by Comforts own admission he believed in God 30 years later when 'Origin.." was published. He later writes that Archaeraptor "fooled" the scinetififc community when teh fossil was nover published in the scientific literature - National Geographic is not a scientific journal.

I like how the book starts out by naming scientists they call Christians when all but 1 of them died hundreds of years before the Origin of Species, lol. And Albert Einstein was a deist, not a Christian in any way.
I got my book at my university, and I could have went to town with the people. But they were nice and they were just doing their job. So I felt bad and didn't do anything like rip pages or diss them. It would have been pretty dumb.

LOL I was thinking it's a shame I wasn't there because I would have ripped the 50 pages Ray Comfort and his buttbuddy Kirk Cameron put in there and lit it on fire in front of them, then I'd look in the book and say "Oh, it seems my copy was defective. Can I have another?" (If they were dumb enough to oblige I would have repeated until they wouldn't give me any more.) Another funny idea would be to stick it down your pants and throw/hand it back to them. I'd keep the rest of the book though.
