I agree with you about checking the measurements on real people being a good way to learn how to draw the figure. Also you could also just walk up to females and ask if you could take a few measurements, because you are trying to learn to draw the figure and it would help your art =D

Really helpful. I draw since I'm little... I'm quite good now but sometimes I realize how much not learning first all of the basics cost me. Sometimes, I screw up a drawing because I forget how I should draw (when it comes to female characters... I mainly struggle with the hips and chest and now strangely... I can struggle with the eyes which pisses me off since I never had problems drawing them before...).

Question. Aren't the thighs a little bit too long ? Other than that, it's perfect ^^.

And people, just because she has shorter legs doesn't mean anything. There are a ton of different body types; Some have longer legs, shorter torsos. So have shorter legs and longer torsos. Does it really matter? You can tell it's a female, and you can see she's human. Not every single female out there has the perfect body, legs, or figure, and that's part of what makes us all unique.

I see some people saying that your wrong. Their wrong your right. You should have elaborated though. You want to combine a textbook knowledge of anatomy, like what you've just shown, and real life knowledge because it's very different. People have imperfections and funny noses and bigger hips, smaller hips and etc.  This was a great tutorial keep it up.

There's definitely something wrong with proportions of the final image, especially with legs. Most likely the extremely long thigns, and way too short calves. The body also feels unnaturally long.

the calves have the same length as the thigns, if you take a closer look. the actual bones of the thigns start at about 4 headsizes and end at about 5 1/2. makes 1 1/2 headsizes. the there are the knees, they don't belong to each part. so there are again about 1 1/2 headsizes left for the calves.. what i want to say is, that the propotions are right this way. they don't feel wrong to me either. the body is ok too. i have that bammes book here (anatomy for artists) so i can check it very good.

Well I think it should have been sped up, but It's kinda good that he suggested and showed his own order in which to do things. Rather than just going from 1 to 2 to 3 and so on he put in some guidelines throughout and then filled in everything else. Also the music is really nice.

No matter what guides you follow or what steps you take, you always need to practice to get good at drawing. The guides and steps are only there to help speed you along your learning path, like training wheels for a bicycle. Eventually, you will not need them anymore except for complicated poses.
