I never understood the sense of hacking a site just to upload a shell and deface it. Its like breaking into a store just to vandalize it with graffiti..9 times out of 10, its always some website thats not even worth mentioning like the site in this video. Hack because someone pissed you off, or to steal information, or for profit, or some other personal/business reason. But Dont go around ruining innocent people websites just because you wanna feel like some 133t hacker. U just look like a noob.

@DJ1TWITCH1 he used a program called thc-hydra but u can only download the binary or source files. if you download the source files you will have to compile them yourself. simply search thc-hydra for more information. it works on any unix based os...

if u know anything you should know that the user on port 21 could be diffrent than the root user you could have diffrent groups also and diffrent permissions on secure servers and having your ip with username on root is a good way to get hacked btw you forgot to say that the city you did this from is Patna in India sorry i could not locate your street your post is almost 3 years old the logs from RailTel corp your internet provider are not avalable today

It's not bad at all. "root" is the user with root privileges, and "hacker" is the hostname of sangohain's PC. I have Arch Linux installed on a virtual machine of mine, and called it VirtualArch. My username in it is zNelson. Whenever I open up a terminal, mine says zNelson@VirtualArch. When I log in as root, it will show as root@VirtualArch.

Also, if you are trying to break into systems, naming your computer hacker is a very bad practice. Everyone can see it.

Backtrack 5R! is highly recommended if you want to learn "Hacking" even if only to test the security of your own site. The number of tools and ease of use make it a quick and fairly simple tool to check for weakness especially sql injections etc. It takes awhile to learn but it's worth it.
