  • Question for any Kyokushinkai people: Do people who practice Kyokushinkai actually drink the beers opened through the method demonstrated at 1:50 in the video? It just seems to me as if it needlessly risks having shards fall back into the bottle.

  • 0:45 He forgets a part, no? The Koken to the side and the Shotei back...

Just wondering why he did do it with the right hand and with double, but not with left :P

  • Opinions...everyone has one. I know i have them, a lot of them. i have a opinion on everything. Sometimes i am wrong and sometimes i am right - thats just how it goes. Bit, sometimes in my zeal...some may say arrogance or ego...whatever. Sometimes i am not as polite or humble or as courteous as i should or could be and yet i remark on others who are not and yet sometimes act just as bad. In a word, Hypocrisy.. But in knowing this we can always strive to be better.

  • @naumutroi No one is perfect and without flaw or blemish. But knowing this it is in striving to be better than the last time and to not make the same mistake or continue to make the same mistake we evolve and become a better person

  • someone said she did not think Master Oyama was a real fighter or a good fighter based upon a vid of him fighting. Really?? Really?? A real fight to me is when someone is out to seriously hurt you and posibly kill you. A fight in sport competition of any kind is not a real fight since it has rules, protective equiptment and a ref. The motivation is to win a contest. These things are missing when you fight a guy in the street, a bar and so on.

  • @naumutroi Sometimes in fighting in any form what is thought to be bad form or position may be a good position and what may seem to be a good form or position is actually a bad one. it depends on the context of the situation. and the form of fighting involved and the intent of the participants involved. The opinion of those watching is based on thier knowledge and thier style if they have any. Ten guys watching master oyama fighting may have ten different points of view of what they just saw.

  • @naumutroi if you are doing sparring or sometimes in a demonstration that type of fighting by its participants may not be as technically sound to some people watching it especially if they do not know the intent. I have seen vids of master li jun fan where he he is not as precise as he usually is. perhaps it is due to the casual nature of the event or maybe just fooling around, or whatever. To me fighting with hands down is not good fighting form but it works with for some, cool, good for them.

  • Does having a black belt make you better or know more than the next guy?? Yes and no. If you area shodan (1st dan) means you have graduated high school and you are now ready to go to college level training. If under black belt rank like brown that means you have not completed basic training and only have a partial understanding of the art. To stop taking a art when you are that close to completing basic training tells me you wasted your time and have no dedication. and are a partial artist.

  • IF minasz was my student i would probably kick his ass out of my dojo for he has no respect or discipline. no respect for the traditions or to the elders. his comments prove that. my comments show my knowledge, experience and respect to the elders. when i was a white belt moving up the ranks i had people who i did not agree with who were of higher rank or seniority but i always respected thier opinion, rank and title if even if i did not respect the person. Im done talking to fools.

  • Like sanchin, tensho is a form of moving meditation; tensho combines hard dynamic tension with soft flowing hand movements, and concentrates strength in the tanden. This form was borrowed from Go-Ju Ryu and placed into Kyokushin by Master Oyama for it was his favorite kata. Tensho means revolving hands and refers to its origins in Southern Chinese Gung Fu. More likely a Buddhist style rather than a Taoist style due to the use of hard breathing. Fukien White Crane seems to be likely.

  • @naumutroi yes chojun miyagi sensei ( the founder of goju ryu ) trained in fukien provence in various styles of kung fu, white crane was one of them.

  • i thank abnitori for posting this video. osu. i have one just like it on my channel as well and the comments there are controlled by me. I make sure there is no disrespectful words about Master Oyama. Osu. Dojo Kun #4, "We will observe the rules of courtesy, respect our superiors and refrain from violence." Master Oyama is a superior. Even though i have not trained in kyokushin I respect him as a elder MASTER in the Martial Way and as one who was a Ni-dan in Shotokan under Master Funokoshi

  • I am very confident in my point of view of the martial arts and it seems that the 104 people who are subscribed to my channel agree with me. the 97,655 total views of my videos seem to indicate my view is a good one as well compared to those who have been here longer and have far less total views.. i have found several new students through youtube who wish to train from me so I am a happy guy.

  • If one wishes to study Kyokushin I would suggest they seek out a dojo and a instructor that still teaches the original kyokushin for it is the better of the two. if the sensei says he is sport competition only and or he says he does not teach goshin-jutsu (self-defence) then go somewhere else to a sensei who does. The Kyokushin dojo that does teach goshin-jutsu is the real authentic original traditional Kyokushin that master Oyama taught.

  • Kyokushin as a style is very effective but unfortunately it has been watered down because of the over-emphasis on sport competition. In its origins, Kyokushin was a hard/soft mixed martial art comprising Master Oyama's blend of Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Go-Ju Ryu karate, Shotokan karate, Aiki-Jujutsu, Kimura style Judo and boxing. But after his death it has de-evolved into just another hard style form of Kickboxing. Master Oyama would not be happy at how things turned out with his style today.

  • Master Li jun Fan did have respect for a lot of martial artists and he had a lot of dis-respect also. The one he respected the most was master Ip Man above all others. Master Oyama was a real fighter. He took on 100 people in one day and beat them all. My Grand Master in Liu Ho Ba Fa also did the same thing and he was a former undefeated bare knuckle champion in Singapore.

  • @naumutroi Oyama didnt beat 100, 200 or 300 people in one day. Hello that is not only bogus and childish thinking but its also not knowing what a fight is. I saw a clip of Oyama doing some sparring and its just hilarious and you see clearly that the opponent is acting. Nobody can fight 100 people in one day. hahahah.

  • My Master.Osu

  • I MADE A VIDEO/THEME DEDICATED 2 ALL MY MARTIAL ARTISTS & KYOKUSHIN TITLED "KYOKUSHIN SPIRIT". YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT ON MY CHANNEL AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. PEACE.

  • Grand Master Oyama is something else. He would probably kick the ass of any MMA guy and make them look like weak girly men.

  • he would beat bruce lee any day. Oyama made karate and he could beat any one at it......

  • @pistery123456789 honestle him and bruce lee i think they world tie bruce lee is faster oyama is powerful both of them took it to the extreme i am continuing my path to find a perfect harmony

  • @pistery123456789

  • @parkourway the use of swords, tonfa was common, and also knife throwing was part of training while Oyama was alive. I dont know if any organization still does it, though. Osu!

  • comepletely amazing what the human body can do :) this guy is so inspirational

  • OSU!!

  • fake

  • @jobowtackmasterx think of a way you can kill a bull with bare hand. You probably can't. He has train his hand to be so tough that he can karate chop the bull on the head and the bull is dead. I can't think of anyway to kill a bull.

  • superhuman

  • @thanlucthieulam That bull was old and was lame. They faked the video. The Style Kyoshin Karate is just karate. So it has a lot of good things and bad things. Me myself dont like the punching from the waste and holding it there or all those kata's. I feel its a waist of time. The Kicks R good to learn on the other hand. I dont see Oyama as a great fighter, in many footage out here you can clearly see that.

  • @minasz You can't see Oyama as good fighter because you arre probably too young and too naive to understand it, the story dont lie, it was the time when the whole world saw the power of Masutatsu Oyama. And the bull is the bull you cant trick it, tought he killed 52 of them....Masutatsu Oyama is the only man in the earth who did 300man kumite, he was the "Godhand" so strong, it's even hard to understand. And it didint came from nothing, he trained martial arts his whole life, and trained hard.

  • @Edvardas06 Im old enought to know that fighting 300 man (real fight) could never been for real. He had great propaganda to sell his style. Like that fighting with the bull and stuff. Its all media! But its all good, if you wanna believe that...believe it. Who am I, Im nobody....Just a fighters thought. Peace Bro.

  • @minasz He used the fighting of the bulls to sell his karate, no doubt about that. And I'm sure that in each of the bullfights, Sosai Oyama had a talk with the bull and told them it was just for propaganda that he would kill/subdue them and chop of their horns... I'm sure the bulls were very understanding....

Or maybe you just need to face the fact that this man was MILES ahead of everyone in the world, both in his own time and presently. There will never be another Sosai Oyama again. OSU!

  • @MaximusMeridiusDK Funny counter, i liked reading your post. I believe that bull was heavily edited and the bull he was chopping his horns of was an old bull.

Oyama wasnt far ahead as I see it, it was just Karate that he teached.

  • @minasz How do you edit a bull? Do you mean that it was drugged? And there is overwhelming evidence that Sosai Oyama did fight the bulls and that he DID chop off their horns with his bare hands afterwards. There is even videos of him fighting the bulls here on youtube. He even got gored once by one of the bulls, was hospitalized and nearly lost his life...

But hey, I don't want to try and convince you of anything, you search the web and draw your own conclusions.

  • @minasz so you can break an old bulls horn while you are wrestling it huh?

its that easy huh? he actually fought like 52 bulls.... 3 he killed with one hit, 49 he broke their horns with a knife chop hand strike.... oh and he fought 300 men in 3 days.... what an easy life....lols

  • @BAE51C I only say think logical. Kyokushin aint gonna make you superhuman. But believe what you want and i will do also. Peace mate!

  • @minasz not superhuman... he showed us what the human body was capable of under extreme training... ppl like me are too lazy to train like that.... i like to go out and meet friends and shit.... this guys life was karate.... hardcore karate... he is famous in more countries than japan....

  • @MaximusMeridiusDK Absolutely agree with you, this man was about hard work and no shortcuts this man was about killing with one strike no grappling bullshit.

  • @minasz Ignorant. I know people who trained under him, and saw first hand what he can do. Bruce Lee said that Oyama is the only martial artist on earth he respects.

  • @suren1946 Mr. Lee respected Oyama as the only martial artist on earth hahah you are crazy dude. Bruce respected many Martial artist, from Gene Kelly to Joe lewis and Ed Parker and Muhammed Ali and many more boxers if you think boxing is a martial art. Oyama kyokushin karate is a hard style, but not THE style. Cuz style doesnt excist in a fight. Its just about fighting. And again I dont think Oyama was a real fighter.

  • @minasz not many if any gives a pound of monkey crap what you think.

  • @minasz not many if any gives a pound of monkey crap what you think.

  • @naumutroi Well certainly you do give a shit, cuz you read my posts, thought about them, try to counter them on many occasions, invested time and now you R crying like a little kid hahah very funny. We dont have to agree, there s nothing with disagreeing. I dont know you and certainly you dont know me...hahahah

  • @minasz style does exist in fighting, it is not just fighting. the style or mix of styles you are trained in will determine a lot of what you do and how well you trained in it will determine its effectiveness. For instance a guy who knows only boxing and little else will have difficulty with a wrestler when they get into the clinch or is taken to the ground because he is out of his element, out of his style parameters. A boxer is only effective if he keeps it standing and can maintains distance.

  • @naumutroi True, if you are trapped in a style by training only one thing you will have a big problem if you re out of your element. Thats why I dont believe in style, Meaning you know all style to have no style. Meaning train in all ranges, from boxing to kickboxing range, to clinching and wrestling range, to groundgame. If you do that, I believe you r really getting as near as you can to the truth.

  • @minasz a good boxer does not hve to give up boxing nor does he have to really embrace ground grappling and submissions if he is happy with boxing. Chuck Liddell made a career out of mostly using boxing in his fights in the UFC rarely using kicks or ground grappling. All a boxer needs is to open his mind, and train his strengths to counter a wrestlers or kickers weakness. The boxer doing this and training his skills for all possible situationss and being aware of his limits will be victorious.

  • @naumutroi Hello do you even read my post or arent you understanding what i mean. Its so simple!! If you re a boxer, you dont have TO GIVE UP boxing! But as a boxer you MUST know some grapplin to understand the movement or how to defend it, or even to win it. You talk about Chuck Liddell. Dont you think Lidell didnt train in grapplin. Thats really naive!! All MMA fighters train in ranges of the fight and thats what im telling you. You need to know the game to stay in the game!

  • @naumutroi So you think Chuck Liddell didnt train all ranges, meaning also grappling...hahah Jeezzz How naive??

  • @minasz you are naive and also blind. you reply to my post, and did not even understand what i wrote and just ran your mouth blindly. Did i say that Liddell didnt train all ranges? No i did not. IT WAS YOU who in your infantile lack of comprehension percieved i did without actually truly reading what i wrote which clearly shows your lack of intelligence and your use of the english language also clearly shows your lack of intelligence.

  • @minasz no one man can learn all that there is to learn and be perfect at every aspect and every technique. The truth is in perfection of what you got first add a little, perfect that then add a little and perfect that and so on and so on. I have respect for the guy with one art who has perfected it in all ways against all commers. You appraocj it like a buttett you become a partial artist no matter how many ranges you cover

  • @minasz li jun fan was at first no impressed by filipino martial arts because all he had to compare it to was ed parker and dan inosanto (who was just learning it at the time). But when he met Master Ben Largusa that all changed because he was not seeing the art from a beginner, he was not looking at it through a guy who went through the arts lkike it was an all you can eat buffett. When he talked to Master Largusa he was seeing through the eyes of a master who perfected his art like he did.

  • @minasz yea and if you said that to Master Oyama's face back in the day they would be scraping what was left of you off the mat. And who am I, I have been a fighter since 1972. training since i was six I have not studied Kyokushin Kaikan but i have studied the same Martial Arts that Master Oyama also studied. Master Oyama did have the "Hands of Stone",

  • @minasz if you think kata is a waste of time then you do not understand kata and thus do not understand karate and by extention ALL martial arts. Even Master Li Jun Fan did kata.

  • @naumutroi I do very well understand kata, again you dont know me. but i can tell you a little about me. I have trained in Kyokushin and im a brown belt. Thats before I did, Muay Thai, BJJ, JKD. If you read my post and not being childisch and tripping over the truth. You would also read that I say that Kyokushin Karate or other Karate like shotokan, wado kai ect. have also good things in them. But I just dont believe in one style. I believe in mastering the ranges in a REAL fight.

  • @minasz you are a mere brown belt. a brown belt is a glorified white belt and nothing else and you think know you know it all. i have been in the martial arts since 1972. Started when i was six. Fourty years of martial arts training, little brown belt., I have taught seminars at the IMB academy little brown belt, I have eaten Thai Fighters for breakfast little brown belt and BJJ wrestlers for lunch. Both Master Inosanto and Master Bustillo trained under my uncle in Filipino Martial Arts.

  • @naumutroi About you training since you r six years old? Who Cares, Who gives a phuck! I train since im 5 years old! On the battlefield there is no pre fight about how long someone is training. About you re uncle and Danny Inosanto training under him....I dont care, I have great respect for Mr. Inosanto and I dont believe you must see him training UNDER but with, even when he s learning new stuff. But why talking about your uncle. You re so childish for a grown up.

  • @minasz yes, i am a grown up and I am also a Sensei and that makes you the child, brown belt. and I will always be more expereinced than you and perhaps even more knowledgeable than you. and unless you reach the rank yondan (4th Degree Black Belt) or higher in ranking i will always be higher ranked than you. Right now, I grow tired of bantering and argueing with you. osu

Right now, I grow tired of bantering and argueing with you. osu

  • @naumutroi You really should here yourself. Amazing! So this is how you pay your respect to your so called student, cuz you say you are a sensei. So you really think you know more than cuz you have a black belt holding your pants. Dude, I dont wear belts. I only do!! talk is cheap. The more I read your comment, the more lazy it is. You R a 4 degree black belt. Dude I really dont care! Again, to me that belt is only to hold up your pants. Doesnt mean anything to me!

  • @minasz in my own personal expression i have only three kata that is set in stone the other i treat like shadow-boxing. Kata means shape or form and literally translates as "shape which cuts the ground." Through the practice of kata, the traditional techniques used for fighting are learned. Balance, coordination, breathing and concentration are also developed. Done properly, kata are an excellent physical exercise and a very effective form of total mind and body conditioning.

  • @naumutroi Kata is not only a fantasy fight, but also has attack and defending movements and technique that came straight out of a bad kung fu movie.

  • @minasz Kata embodies the idea of ren ma, or "always polishing" – with diligent practice, the moves of the kata become further refined and perfected. The attention to detail that is necessary to perfect a kata cultivates self discipline.

  • what you guys mean by Osu? Ohaiyo gosaimasu ??? Pls explain osu

  • NOBODY DOES TENSHO BETTER THAN OYAMA

  • 大山先生の「転掌」の型ですね。

  • Ossu!!! excelente.... _su

  • Ôsu from Brasil Kyokushinkan!

  • OSS

  • he would break everyone's ribs with 1 punch and if u blocked his punch ur arms would be broken.

He developed karate as it should be, not just as a dance like how it is these days with the World Karate Federation of Japanese Karate Federation. True karate is full contact karate.

    Osu!!

  • @FaridYM I am a kyokushinkai student and I can tell you that statement is just a legend. Our sosai was strong like a rock, but many legends have arisen after his death. Some shotokan guy once told me that Oyama ran throughout all Japan and when he had no space to continue running, he went on to the chinesse wall to continue his feat... I guess you should take somme comments along with a grain of salt...

  • @kashpc

LOL thats indeed a little bit too exagerated, but about what i said, it was a fact that kyokushin was the strongest karate at that time before the IKO fell apart after sosai's death.

Now its all bullshit about politics about who has the real karate n balblablabal.

wish it will all become united again someday

  • @FaridYM That is true to some extent. However, that separation has brought diversification in technique and rules. For example, now there are some schools that allow hits to the face, and they use a special headgear for that purpose. Also some teach some groundwork (I think that's great in order to be an all round fighter). I think the spirit of strong karate does not lie in the Federation of all schools, but in the practitioner itself.

  • @FaridYM True Karate should more like MMA!

  • @cumanagoto true karate is a martial art not a mortial sport nowadays karate is a martial sport but not the true karate

  • @FaridYM thats right!!! OSU!

  • @FaridYM no disrespect but hung ga practitioners train to break peoples arms with the block. no disrespect to kyokushin.

  • @cfG21

true that, because the 1st martial arts I trained in was Hung Gar ;) It builds a strong foundation.

Still live to see strong hung gar

  • @FaridYM yup , this is how strong kyokushin is , thats why i choose this style . osu !

  • @FaridYM i may be naive, but i'm pretty sure true karate is designed to kill and not score points or win 'matches;

  • @dirosaga

i agree on that 2, but u cant kill someone with dance or playing tag matches. They just try to simulate the concept of Ichigeki Hissatsu aka 1 hit certain kill. A good clean&fast technique which scores a point should be the deadblow? the concept is nice but this is what caused 2 many failures in real life fights. In a good kyokushin dojo or any other style they should train 4 killing and then fight in less dangerous matches. fullcontact is in my humble opinion a bit more realistic

  • @FaridYM kung fu is full contact is real full contact

  • @preayas

as far as i know that only goes for sanda/sanshou

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @FaridYM no!!! you are wrong!!!

  • @preayas

    i'm so scared then -_-

why you even reply to my 1st comment that kung fu is full contact? actually I don't really care if it is. I'm a karate fighter and not interested in kung fu at all. good for you that you like kung fu so much, just don't bother me with it. thank you very much

  • Comment removed

  • @FaridYM I also like other martial arts such as taekwondo!!!

  • @FaridYM both Kung Fu and Karate are excellent traditional martial arts. Remember, Master Oyama studied Kung Fu (someimes called Gung Fu) when he was 9 years old living in Manchuria. it is good you are a passionate karate fighter, a Karate Baka Ichidai. But, Kung Fu is also good. Many of the Kata in Shotokan, Go-Ju Ryu, Uechi Ryu and Shito Ryu and Kyokushin have been inspired by Kung Fu, specifally Fukien White Crane Kung Fu. Osu

  • @FaridYM Dude... KARATE NI SENTE NASHI... ijs... he was a great "fighter" but not a great Master for me.. anyone can train your body to break the sky... but just real masters can teach u how to break ur "fighter" spirit...well...now a days every dojo is basically just teaching people ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK... kill is easy... be gentle and polite is not.. what is karate DO for u? karate ni sente nashi...

  • @RyuHoshi05

what is karate ni sente nashi...? ichigeki hissatsu is my concept of karate

  • no wonder kyokyshin katas are sooo 'unique', may as well take it out of their curriculums & stick to what they're good at...... kumite

  • oops...... he surely forgot his left hand side sweep......

  • 10. Dan ...but he forgot the left to right block on the second step of tensho.

  • Osu from denmark

  • The real name of sosai was Yong I-Choi.Bae-Dal is just a nickname.

    OSU

  • Fighter in the wind, very good movie about Mas...And yeah, he was from Korea, not Japan.

  • @xxKORDIANxx Love that movie, the fight scenes are so raw and just awesome. The story is really great as well. No wonder Ryu (from Street Fighter) is based off of Mas Oyama!

  • Oyama's real name was Choi, Bae Dal.

He is from Korea, not Japan.

  • But he moved to japan:)

    OSU

  • if you moved to japan too, would it make you Japanese also? i think not...though Mas Oyama if he was'nt famous would be considered a traitor and a sell out. lol Abandoned his country for japan, a country that colonized and raped his people, then joined the japanese military that took over korea, changed his name to japanese, gave up korean citizenship for japanese citizenship and created a japanese art with a japanese name lmao I'll do the same thing if I was korean, specially from the north LOL

  • Sounds exactly like he preferred to be known as Japanese. If you are Korean and move to America, become an American citizen, are you not American? He was Japanese.

  • true but eventhough it was a must to give up his korean citizenship he didnt do this.

There is a documentary where this is said.

search for Mas Oyama Doco Part 1 ENG SUB

  • To:jobowtackmasterx>you make me laugh, thank you hahaha...you cant 'compare yourself to this true master of all thime..If he was still living,he will beat you with pleasure in maybe 20 seconds and you will not be able to stand up quickly, thank you for make us laugh, continue to make funny videos like the others with your "haloween" costume hahaha

  • MAS OYAMA OSU

  • u dirty poor shit philipin love to bark

  • that old man couldnt stand a minute with you in the ring cause he die in 1994, so as you might see, ur comment is little sick.

  • OSU

  • In 1952, he travelled the United States for a year. During subsequent years, he took on all challengers, resulting in fights with 270 different people. The vast majority of these were defeated with one punch! A fight never lasted more than three minutes, and most rarely lasted more than a few seconds.

  • His fighting principle was simple — if he got through to you, that was it. If he hit you, you broke. If you blocked a rib punch, you arm was broken or dislocated. He became known as the Godhand, a living manifestation of the Hissatsu or "One strike, certain death".

  • Hissatsu = certain death. Ikken = one strike (of the sword). Ikken hissatsu = certain death with one strike (of the sword). This term was a guiding principle of old kendo. It implied training focused on tactics and techniques that allowed the practitioner to live to fight through excellence. Being proficient enough to kill instantly was the goal.

  • Fantastic! Oyama is the soul of karate. To even start to understand his ideas, you would need to study the martial arts for around 20 years. He is saying to us all that a lot of karate is about breathing techniques. There is also a mystical (or religious) aspect to it. Oyama always used to say to give homage to Buddah or whoever your God may me. Oyama was a great man. I have learnt so much just watching this clip of him. It is about life itself.

  • was that guy that killed a bull with his karate ?

  • @grenada111 he killed a tiny ass cow with horns that was tied up. And its not even a true story, watch the video its so painfully obvious that its fake.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Not sure what a "tiny ass cow" is, but Oyama actually killed bulls as a demonstration on more than one occassion. In addition to video, there have been well over 100 spectators to witness it, making it unlikely that it was fake. Never saw one with the bull "tied up" either.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Did you see the one where he actually took down a bull, which was loose, and by grabbing onto the horns, wrestled it to the ground? I'm sure they were experts at faking video footage in those days. In any case, have some respect for other MA styles.

  • o really? show me a video

  • lol i did watch your video. If you honestly think that YOU could defeat oyama...then you need to take that ninja mask off, as it's clearly cutting the circulation off to your brain. You've negated all credibility you might have otherwise had lol.
