Mashallah!!!! How much I love this woman, so profesional in every thing that she does.... she is so perfect and full of life inside her heart, it's so amazing to have a personality like her :D
Plz if anyone here knows who sing the song that appear in this video for her... Leave ur comment here for me :D
You are right Oster; the rhythmn is not Egyptian saiid, it very much closer to "Dabke". Love Fifi, but this music here does not work. The music is not strong, "very Lebanesy" as said above. Gone is the deep and powerful connection like we are used to, especially to accompany a great like Fifi Abdu.
you can hear that the musicians are not egyptians, because the sound is other, how can I describe it? The sound is not so heavy, the rhythm is saidi but it sounds a little bit dabkelike...you know what i mean?
although Egyptian and Lebanese dabke have similar rhythyms..it is not the same thing! the music here is very weak because one, there is no real singer.. just backup singers with weak voice capabilies... and the music isn't that great either... if see other clips of fifi dancing to her OWN BAND.. you'll probably notice the difference.. and like others said her dancing here isn't the best.. and maybe thats the reason!!
"Walaa ya saidi, hobak makanSHE.. maaleshi ya seidy" thats straight up EGYPTIAN DIALECT :) just because the clip is from a bootlegged dvd that says "lebanon" on the cover doesn't make the contents Lebanese.. thats what happens when people purchase dance videos and watch dance clips online without knowing the source.. things are often taken out of context.. this is taken from a lebanese program called "studio al phan" where fifi was a guest on the show..
love fifi... she is a great dancer! unfortunetly if someone was to first experience fifi through this clip it would be a little disappointing. she is moving well... but she looks a little bit clumsy with the cane at times.
oh well... she has many other clips to make up for that! :)
I love Fifi, she's awesome! However, I don't like the beats to the music nor the backup singers. The song is called SAIDI.. not Lebaneesy lol! Not very convincing. A shaabi singer should've accompanied her..
If you read the description, you'll see clip is from a Lebanese VCD rip- they're in Lebanon- they're singing Lebanese dialect and are likely performing for a Lebanese audience. The debke and saidi rhythms are one and the same, the music stylings different. In Lebanon they perform raqs assaya to debke music- so the choice of music makes perfect sense.
She is amazing!

Don't like the beats to the music?? Funny, considering it's the Saidi Rhythm she's dancing to.
