M.U.S.C.L.E. is a cult classic and has been around in various forms for decades. In fact, you probably had one of the toys as a child. There was even an anime called Ultimate Muscle just a couple years ago.

The reason the all look the same is b/c it's based on the MUSCLEMEN toys. All the characters except for a few had the same exact bodies with different heads, and stuff. So it wouldn't have made sense to have different body types.

MUSCLE was based on a popular Toy Range. Little wrestler figures who were all the same colour and really cheap. I think you could buy them in packs - where you got 10 of them.

The game does look really cheap too. We all know the NES could do much better than that. Looks like the publisher went for a really low cartridge memory size.

If you remember the game WWF Wrestle Mania on the Amiga in 1991, that was only 5 years after from this game and even then it was limited to about this amount of game-play! :-)

Depends which ass slam you are referring to. If you are talking about the one from the 2nd rope in the corner than it was Yokozuna in the mid 90's and Rikishi in the late 90's/early 2000's. If you are talking the one that the guy ran off the ropes and then just dropped his ass on the guy in the middle of the ring then that was Earthquake in the early 90's.

Ah the Kinnikuman video game that sucks. XDD It is sad that the power up is the key for an instant win. The knight is named Robinmask. I think the helmet is actually his head plus his armor is not that much. There are other games featuring these characters plus some of them have sons who are wrestlers. Robinmask's son is Kevinmask. This game is based off of a popular Japanese comic series called Kinnikuman.
