I've always thought that Crash Bandicoot 1 was the best game of all 3, because it had more realistic graphics and way better music rather than those cartoonish sequels. I'm always going to love the tribal-esque soundtrack of this game and this particular song... the intro is the best!!

I loved the music in Naughty Dog's Crash games. You find yourself humming them because they are such great tunes even if they are from a level that scared me as a kid like this one OH SHIT GIANT BOULDER RUN! dum-dum,dum,dum- dum- dum,dum,dum. Naughty Dog has always been brilliant with game soundtracks. The music matches the levels perfectly.

I'd say the dinosaur chase from CB3 tops it all.

Maybe that's just me being 6-7 at the time and getting freaked out by a huge-ass thing chasing me, making creepy sounds.

I swear I would keep replaying the first warp room again and again, occasionally get into Dino Chase (think it was...), glimpse over the edge to where the dinosaur waits, discover I'm too much of a pussy again and exit the world instead to replay the spawn room once more :D

I agree with Shamilton91, the giant polar bear was the scariest. Though the Triceratops in Crash 3 was a little scary too. I remember one of those pre-historic levels (Bone Yard I think) Where it chases you and you go down a ledge. And it stops chasing you all of a sudden to let you smash some crates. As soon as you go past the checkpoint, it comes down and continues chasing you.

That bit used to scare me in the 90's.

agreed. Twinsanity was good, but not up to par with the ND series. The racers have actually remained decent, if not quite on par with CTR. It's really CoTT and MOM that killed the series.
