  • For thon he waes Sceadufaex Hlaford ealra maera; And he ne And he...love this song!!

  • Theoden King: one epic motherfucker

  • thumbs up if your here because of dota 2 on reddit :)

  • I hate when they use miniature sets that place looks so small and fake...

  • dem orcs got fucked

  • I love Eomer in the movies. Especially in the scene, when Gandalf appears and then Eomer comes behind him and he's like "not alone". I was like "YEAH! Gandalf got an army with him". Then when Eomer screams "to the king" you know the uruk-hai are gonna get their ass kicked.

  • After watching this, you just have to go watch all the Lord of the Rings movies in a row!

  • It´s cool how Gandalf and Rohirrim Army are riding downhill

  • Gandalf: Theoden king stands alone.

    Eomer: Not alone. Rohirrim!

    [Rohirrim gather behind him]

    Eomer: TO THE KING!

    Me: GOOOOOOOOSEBUMMMMPS xD

  • gandalf used aoe light of the rising dawn at 3:42

    lotro ftw

  • @xibby is that a lrm skill?

  • @BoneBaron yeah lore master skill, but it only affects 1 target

  • London needs rohirrim :(

  • such awsome movies

  • anyone else run out of there house and just start swinging.

  • Y the hell did saruman and wormtounge make 5 accounts just to dislike dis

  • Sauron, Saruman, Gollum, Wormtounge and The Cave Troll disliked this video.

  • This scene is great, the greatest I have ever seen!

  • I guess saruman forgot one thing to give them in his preparations for war. Swords...check, Pikes....Check, Crossbows......check, everything is here oh shit i forgot to order them 10,000 sunglasses. fuck it they dont need em.

later that day gandalf arrives with the others.....

Saruman: i should have gotten those damn sun glasses, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • in reality the uruk-hai would have killed everyone. they were not tupid at all. a small group of horses would not stop a huge crowd of uruks. the women and children would have been a target as well

  • My favorite scene in the whole Trilogy. Shows what we are capable of even in the face of the greatest despair. Still gives me goosebumps every time I see this.

  • whats the song called that starts ar 2:24 ???

  • Yes!

  • dude u picked the worst time to stop the movie!!!!! it was pretty good tho

  • Still get goosebumps when he says "For Theolinda, CHAAAAARGE!"

  • @TheJazzax He says "Forth, Eorlingas!", actually :P

  • @Rikhartpt Actually he doesnt...

You should watch the video first before you comment dumbass...

  • @TheJazzax No, he says "Forth, Eorlingas!", like I said. Read the book. Listen to the music called exactly that. But above all, dont insult someone whos trying to teach you something...

  • @Rikhartpt Ive read the book, and it doesnt say what Theoden said before they charged because you see it from the eyes of Aragorn who is on a wall i think?

  • @TheJazzax Actually, "Forth Eorlingas!" :) but agree with you anyway

  • Sauron, Saruman and Balrog dislike this video.

  • great quality my ass!

  • I love this scene - it makes me so proud of the Human spirit - where lesser creatures surrender or despair - Humans fight back and make a final stand. Our capacity for bravery - our determination, it brings me to tears.

  • this scene makes me cry each time watching it! cannot remember to be that touched ever. wonderful, not enough words to describe my feelings

  • So lets just leave these Uruk-hai back here to get to our wives and children??

  • @spaceman341992 They were giving them a head start into the mountains. If you were an uruk-hai, would you go straight for the refugees or try and kill the king as he tries to charge out of the keep?

  • @spaceman341992 .aragorn at first asks if there is another way to escape from the caves. and sends the captain to guide and block the entry .. besides them was eowyn

  • Theoden king stands alone

    not alone

  • This gives me the "epic shivers" every time

  • 3:43 Gandalf's yelling "I CAST MAGIC MISSILE, EAT IT !!!!!"

  • so many times gandalf says comments like "look to my coming at first light on the 5th day; at dawn look to the east." as if he knows such events are predestined. if he knows such things why didn't he just get eomer and his men earlier. that way haldir wouldn't have died :'(

  • @heyhomes8 The whole reason they left Edoras was because Eome and his rohirim were too far away to help. The reason Gandalf left was to search for them. Given that they had to cover hundreds of miles on horses he knew it would take a long time (5 days).

  • I cried like a little baby when I saw this, this is the BEST scene in the entire movie.

  • that scene made me cum ... epic

  • Into darkness I ride with thee

From my heart I fight with thee

For country's sake I breathe my last breath with thee

  • Can not get any more epic then this.

  • sooo epic

  • it wouldve been funny if gandalf charged by himself

  • Sauron and Saruman disliked this video

  • @AHighPwner 5 now... looks like the Witch King, Snake Tongue, and The Mouth of Suaron got influenced with them.... no biggie... theres only 5 of em though XD

  • @AHighPwner and 3 orcs

  • Maybe J.R.R.Tolkien was read about Siege of Szigetvár (or Battle of Szigeth) and the final charge of Croatian ban Nicholas Subich Zrinsky against Ottoman forces before he write that part of his book? ;-)

  • its....so...beautiful :D

  • 2 people got a rohirrim spear in their ass

  • Does anyone else see it as freakin epic that gandalf rides withour a saddle or bridle for all of this?

  • @skuehn94 balls of steel. no other explanation

  • I dont know why, but Gandalf's little battle cry near the end of the charge with the music makes the scene so much more epic.

  • what song is it at 1:36

  • @Mstarr345 Isengard unleashed. Last part

  • whats the name of the soundtrack as gandalf comes down the hill during the charge

  • @TheJizzler100 "Theoden Rides Forth"

  • Reading this part right now, wanted to see the video to get an idea of the scenery and such

  • A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisley when he means to.

  • BOOM Gandalf=Win.

  • can't wait for the Hobbit!

  • 2:32 why the heck are those rohan guys swining there swords, theres no orcs there lol

  • @kaptinfancy The Uruk-Hai would have been CG'd in, obviously they missed that area.

  • The tramp of thousands hoofs, this music...damn, amazing!

  • theoden is very optimistic at the begenning :))

  • "SAURON CREATED Accounts to Rate it Bad as he cans :["

  • fuck democracy I want Aragorn as my king

  • My gosh, I was terrified for them! Orcs terrify me, and to see them lose hope .... Aragorn, I swear, is probably one of the most inspirational characters ever. I love how the sun appears when Gandalf rides in - it's like he's their ray of sunshine. Whenever Gandalf comes, I can't help but think: "They're saved."

  • Man this makes me cry:D

  • I remember when I saw this part in the theatre, I was about 12. Everyone in the theatre got up and starting clapping lol. A few guys even went nuts.

  • @therock17024 i saw an old couple cry :D

  • @therock17024 Yes! I WENT BONKERS WHEN I SAW THIS!!!

  • Helm Hammerhand is a sick bastard!

  • I remember watching return of the kings in the cinema, thumbs up if the RingWariths screams killed your ears

  • The 2 dislikes are from the uruk-hai army

  • Awesome part, but i have always thought this to be tatically impossible. The cavalry would get impaled against spears

  • not if a "heavenly" light comes from above blinding temporalily the enemy

  • @Robvg197 The "Heavenly" light that blinds the Uruk'hai is the sun as it was rising over the mountains shining into the valley of helms deep.

  • @Thrrekk and orcs thrive on darkness...thus the sunlight weakens them

  • @eaglewillfly . It's not Orcs. It's Uruk'hai. they are bred to for a single purpose to destroy mankind. They are not weakened by sunlight. The Uruks even run from Amon'din to Isengard carrying Merry and Pippin.

So the Sunlight don't weaken them. Only Blind them, temporarily.

(plus.. i was merely commenting on the "heavenly" light. explaining that it was the sun.)

  • @yorkiedon Charging down a slope that angle isn't possible either, but it's still one of the more memorable scenes in modern cinema, in my opinion, logistics aside. =P

  • @JackieMagenta logistics? lol c'mon man, I just figure Gandalf has cast some type of spell to let them charge at a 70-80 degree angle, go with it! this is epic, almost as much as the Rohirrim charge in Pelennor Fields

  • what is the song?

  • Most awesome part of the movie. You don't realize it, but the scenes before this are so long and dark, that when they do charge down the hill, it is like heaven is raining down light. It is nearly blinding in the theatre.

  • @nightspeed101 Very apt, since Gandalf is not only a Maiar (sort of an angel), but was brought back to life by Eru (God) with more power. "The White Rider was upon them, and the terror of his coming filled the enemy with madness". No wonder since this is a guy who could take on Sauron himself (but is forbidden to).

  • thousands of uruks... and none of them thought of shooting an arrow at Theoden and pals?

  • @afromania247

Didnt have archers, only crossbow men,

  • what accents do these actors have? Old english

  • One of the greatest scenes in the history of the theatre and cinema! Goosebumps doesn't begin to describe this!

  • One of the greatest scenes in the history of the theatre! Goosebumps doesn't begin to describe this!

  • " ... TO THE KIIIIINNNNNNNNNGGG !!!! ... " i almost jumped out of my seat n the theater when gandalf came down the hill ... !!!!

  • @costcordero2 Think its for the king..

  • @costcordero2

it's 'for' the king not to the king.

  • @RobotsGreatWar2 No. It's "To the king". (i know cus i watched the movie...like yesterday.

  • @costcordero2 SO EPIC! I PEED MY PANTS!

  • 2:25

    if i was a orc i would be like."RUN!!!!!"

  • this and mamukil charge is teh best

  • Ride out and meet them... heavy risk.... but the priiiize

  • as gandalf charges the LIGHT OF GOD SHINES THE WAY!!

  • 3:44 is absolutely epic.

  • 2 Uruk-hai disliked this video.

  • @ManiacThrashing :):):)

  • @ManiacThrashing and Saruman

  • @ManiacThrashing they breed another urukhai some it become 3 LOL

  • At 3:59 you can see Arwen fighting on horseback next to Legolas. She is wearing pink. I only know that because Peter Jackson at first wanted her to lead the elves to Helm's Deep than changed his mind. Too bad they just didn't do it like the book and have it as 1000 more men of Rohan coming there after they unloaded all there arrows into Saurman's army.

  • Anyone else notice that is a really steep hill. :O

  • @Chick8u yeah I always wondered how they could just gallop down so easily.

  • lad gandolf's war cry is sick !! :D

  • Can anybody see how steep is the hill at 3:26?

  • OMG i LOVE this movie! This whole trilogy is amazing! By the way, Gandalf had been sent three days earlier to find them horsemen and bring them as reenforcement, hence the dramatic scene of the light shinning through the window.

  • I have a question:

After Aragorn, Theoden, and pretty much everyone else who was in that room charged out, who was left to defend the women and children? They basically left the caves where the women and children were hiding completely undefended. By the time Eomer & co. would actually ARRIVE to clear everyone out from the Deep, the women and children's gate would already have been breached.

  • @osufitchi They left Gimli in there.

  • @TheCalcuttan Gimli was blowing the horn.

  • @osufitchi Oh, yeah. The men who were holding the door, then. .-.

  • How in the world is this compared to twilight?

  • 3:27 army os spider-man ??? xD

  • ive watched this scene at least a thousand times. And the chills never get old.

"What can Men do against such reckless hate?"

  • 3:12. The guy on the right doesn't exactly seem to be in the moment. Must be one of those bearded rohan women.

  • Here comes backup

  • i love it how they all just pounce of the horses lol

  • how steep is that hill??

  • Most epic movie seen ever

  • THUMBS UP FOR ROHAN!!!!!

  • The uruk-hais are strong and whatever but they have 1 weakness: Light. Thats why they were fighting at night.

  • Thing is and I know hollywood takes liberties, but Uruh-Kai are not supposed to be phased by sunlight or magic.....huh???

  • @throbbin87 its not so much the sunlight, as teh fact that they looked directly into the sun, and that hurts like a b**** no matter WHAT you are.

  • @shutigal...THAT I cant argue with!! Its like the Will Farrell skit whe he plays Harry Carey and said he once stared at the sun for over an hour....LOL!!

  • @shutigal Nope it wasnt the sunlight , it was one of Gandalf's spells, the same one he used to repel the nazguls in the ROTK.

  • @MultiKillerBot "look to my coming on the first light of the 5th day, at dawn, look to the east"

  • @shutigal That just meant , when his backup was comming and where . You dont expect him to give Aragorn false info. on his arrival and where he is arriving from.

  • Charging out, taking as many of the bastards as you can before you die, that'd be an AWESOME way to die.

  • Sounds like an angel singing.

  • Aragorn: (Looks up, seeing Gandalf on Shadowfax atop the hill, surrounded by Light) Gandalf...

Gandalf: (Looks over Helms Deep) Theoden King stands alone.

Eomer: (rides beside the wizard) Not alone. (Draws sword) Rohirrim!

(Army of Horsemen appear behind them)

    Theoden: (Grinning) Eomer!

Eomer: (Raises sword) To the King! (Leads the charge with Gandalf)

    Pure awesomeness.

  • This is good quality. Also, in the movie, at some parts, the guys riding out on the causeway appear suspiciously computer generated.

  • Yeah, there's definitely two Legolas' riding on the causeway. lol

  • the battle cry from every person is this film is awsome !!

  • but not alone.. Rohirriiiim!!!

  • Great Scene. Although why are there 2 Legolas riding down the causeway?

  • that mountain, where Gandalf and the rohirrim came down is too delve to ride on horse, isn't it?

I myself would slip after 3 steps running down...

by the way epic scene ;)

  • I remember seeing this and thinking that was soooooo badass but then comparing it to the charge in The Return of the King that was like almost nothing lol :)

  • well.... we're fucked

  • lol what would have happened if one of them tripped? so much for a good rescue when they are piled at the bottom

  • Gimli had to fight off the remaining Uruks, there was clearly around 100 of them outside the castle doors. lol

  • Theoden King stands alone... Not alone, Rohorrim!

Ahh one of the best movies ever! Love LOTR!!!!

  • 3 :05 omg verry nice........

  • 1:36 amazing part when the music comes in and its the last stand like 10 men vs like 8thousand uruks

  • This is sheer brilliance.

  • Makes me want to get on a horse and charge down that hill with them. "For the King!". Epic scene, with wonderful music

  • The entire LOTR trilogy is just one incredibly epic film, and it's scenes like this that make it so. I still get goosebumps when it gets to 3:14 :)

  • I wish we had a world leader like aragorn.

  • @civicdude101 lol yeah. "Sir there is a Financial crises!" *aragorn stares* "Dude. Just chill"

  • Gimli's got a set of lungs on him..

  • That is one steep ass hill, surprised the horses didn't tumble and form a giant ball of death to crush the Uruk's.

  • what happened to gimli!?

  • Gimli provided ambient sounds.. Besides he must've been very tired from climbing that tower so fast :)

  • i know but how did he get out? they rode off without him
