its ok now ive fixed it i put new carbon brushes on it ....i thought it would have been motor but turned out it was brushes took 1 hour to fit up and running all for £15 i used the vids of you tube to help me
we have same problem now , turn it on ....it fills up , then clicks to wash ....drum does not move i have to turn it off reset it then it goes to spin/end and drains it self off
I have a beko washing machine and it does not turn.. I checked the belt and its fine... Everything sounds like it goes through the cycle but it won't turn....
Not only are the plastic tubs cheaper and lighter - it's also a great business for the appliance mechanics and spare parts providers. The more a machine breaks, the more money they earn for repairing it. That's the pitiful way this modern world works...
@MasterOfWash That's the truth. Things aren't built to last. They're built to be broken, so that people will be forced to repair them, or buy new items, so that the manufacturers can make more money.
People are rather telling that Candy or Indesit are shit because of such things... well I can"t say it"s ok, but unfortantly on ALL brands except miele, there are cases with broken machine from 1st week/month.. You can go to every Appliance review website, and click the "lowest score button".. I checked on EVERY manufacturer there is number of such cases.. The most common are leaks, PCB, motor, tub, and on newest hotpoints there is door lock fail.
The only manufacturers who don't use plastic tubs are Miele and Asko/Maytag. It's been that way for at least 15 years now. Hotpoint and Philips/Whirlpool have used plastic tubs for about 30 years now. If they are made thick enough they won't crack either. With cheap machines like Beko, Indesit, Hotpoint, Candy, Hoover etc, the plastic is probably a little bit too thin, but when a machine costs around £200 you really can't complain! You get what you pay for.
@Hoover1100 the plastic tubs on this beko is thiner than hotpoints, as i know, hotpoint, creda, ariston used metal dums until merloni bought them out in 2001. the late 90's styled hotpoints and credas were useing parts from bosch, so my wd61 and wd64 were bosch made. and had aluminum tubs
@whichwasher2007 Hotpoint switched to plastic tubs when the 95 series came out in 1983, so your 9920, WD61 and WD64 plastic outer tubs, only Hotpoint dishwashers were made by Bosch, the washers were always a real Hotpoint design. Bosch machines also had plastic tubs by the 90s and tbh I doubt a Beko drum is thinner than a Hotpoint drum, they're better made and more repairable than current Indepoints. Hotpoint never used stainless steel tubs, before plastic they were enamel which rusted.
@glenfieldmathk1 the inner drum in all machines is stainless steel, yours included. Hotpoint have used plastic outer tubs for over 25 years now, Correct me if I'm wrong but yours should have a green outer tub does it not?
@Hoover1100 It has a Greeny Blue(Turquoise colour) plastic thing(tub) Yes! The outer tub is dented on mine, this Turquoise tub. The Stainless steel drum, or metal anyway, is not dented, though I know they easily dented, so I am great full mine is still in great condition!
@whichwasher2007 they have stainless steel inner tubs, but the outer tubs will have been plastic for definate, no hotpoint has ever had a stainless steel tub.
@glenfieldmathk1 Tbh all Hotpoints I've seen have had dented drums after a few years, Hotpoint used pretty thin stainless steel on them, it's not uncommon for them to get large chunks torn out as a result of metal fatigue
@whichwasher2007 can you tell me why that pop was when you pressed the biutton and why casn you tell me why it started turning and then it started jogging the drum inside
@bogdannb i didnt fix it, like i said it was 2 months old, so was still under warrenty. it was fixed and ran for another 3 months before being sold on ebay
@Marc1998Scotland i couldern't belive it either but im'e suspecting the crack in the machine was proberbly allready in the tub before it arrived, as the shipping bolts and packaging had allready been take out
how come the motor didnt go bang

I can't see Miele or Maytag, switching to plastic, there the only 2 brands left.
Shame you didn't catch the huge spin thing!
Well I hope it is fixed now!

@Hoover1100 My washer drum is Metal, It isn't stainless steel but it is better than the polyplex(?) drums the hotpoint indesit machines use now!
The Hotpoints outer tub, is a strong plastic, though somehow, my machines is dented! So You are right, they had plastic tubs 15years ago!

Bad Beko! It's a very bad washing machine and should not have broken. Does it have a balance sensor and gives balance trash?
