  • Zevon would piss in Punkfagroks moutth--the puke has the balls to be a fing republican f you scum sing lullabye jesues or some shit kleave real peoples music alone you gross ugly maggot

  • I love that thing he does in the beginning where he speeds up a little between the last beat of the bar and the first of the next one @ 0:05

  • OOOHHH!!! Thank u sooooo much!!!!!

  • That's some amazing piano playin'

    RIP Warren

  • Where did all the 'real-rockers' go? "I" wish I had been there to help ole' Warren do that li'l number like "we" used to do it! If "I" don't see ya no more in this world I'll meet ya in the next one, and don't be late! R.I.P Warren Zevon-one-real-rock & roller!!!

  • @MisterCrash241 the only good one still alive, is bob dylan :/

  • Rip waren, I didnt know you was away , great song buy the way, you like you appreciate it !

have fun, I am sure you continue to express your self and have fun .

  • Nose pick @ 1:09

  • No offence but this really sounds like sweet home alamba

  • Some morons love hearing Kid Rock sing 'Sweet Home Alabama' to this melody.

  • @YTRulesFromNM'''' Kid Rock is NOT singing Sweet Home Alabama !!!!! His song is titled All Summer long. he does use some music from both songs'

    and more.

    R.I.P W.Z !!

  • @YTRulesFromNM , It is like to see the thinking of other and why they see it, their own experience of them life.

My experience in my life was weird if I look at it, I could be rich by the salary of my Dad but I was poor and live with my Mama, my Dad knew we was existing around birthday's and Christmass. It is just a point ofview of the viewer.

We know when we are closee ,and It is easy to see not that easy to do.

    I learn that,

I prefere understand pain. that way I dont have to feel it.

  • I love this song. It makes me sad to hear it though because he's gone.

  • WZ you are the best

  • Number 2 my ass! warewolves of HEAVEN ! rock on, warren

  • Weren't Warren Walkin' on the Water?

  • does this song like actually mean anything?

  • @NegativeNick It's pretty much just a humorous tribute to horror movies. It's more to show off his dark humor rather than to have a deep hidden meaning.

  • hes that hairy hairy gent, who ran amock in kent... classic;)

  • @downsouthdukin One Fine Froggin' Lyric

  • It looks like the set of Later rather than Totp.

  • @SwingRiots Nah, definitely TOTP

  • @SwingRiots yeah its later with jools, theres another video where its got the later image, top of the pops 2 use footage from later and the old grey whistle test as they are all in the bbc archives.

  • ive gotta say its very weird watching warren play this song in front of a bunch of corpses in a morgue. "i'd like to meet his tailor" doesnt even get a smile. i know the brits have got a sense of humor; where did they get this crowd?

  • @majorhoop yeah -like vultures a gatherin

  • I thought I recognized that tune, YoMama2143! I can't believe a law suit isn't in progress here!

  • I may not agree with alot of things on the internet, especially that bit about the fact the Earth isn't at the centre of the universe. But all these comments saying Kid Rock is shot and ruined this song abit. Fuck that talentless southern fucker. This world will never be an American bad ass short when he dies.

  • The closest Kid Rock will ever get to being like Warren Zevon will be if he dies from cancer. I love the fact Zevon's estate gets royalties from Rock's song but am sad a new generation of fans think the untalented bandwagon hack created everything in his song. Truth is, he rhymed "things" with "things" and that's all you need to know about his ability. Dont send "Lawyers, Guns and Money" to deal with Kid Rock. Just the gun. Then the lawyer. Or just the money and have someone else do it.

  • Amazing, an underated classic.

  • @jaroo207

Then feck off if you don't like it!

  • R.i.p. Warren we miss you.

  • Great emotion

    Warren, I miss you!

  • great music shame hesleft us the audiance seem 2 b changing wacch thereheads

  • Warren, you are awesome. (I know he's Passed)

He was the best of his Kind in Music, I just wish That Gay-Ass-Faggot: Gayboy Rock hadn't ripped off the tune for his sweet home alabama song... Warren would turn in his grave if he knew Gayboy Rock had copied it.

  • So would Robbie Van Zant & the others of Lynard Skynard,What's your point? You forgetting them to? They passed on as well.

  • @tovara22 Ronnie Van Zant

  • @EvanDavid666 Thanks I meant RONNIE not Robbie :) You caught me!

  • @DeppressiveEmoKitteh the rocker who ripped-off this song... (idk who) should eat his own dick. Ripped off skynard too. People need to write their own shit. A bummer warren passed- away. Awesome work- too bad a dick had to rip it off/

  • This is a lot better than when Fag-Rock started singing the lyrics of sweet home Alabama to this tune.

  • @YTRulesFromNM crap i cant like this more once. oh well

  • @YTRulesFromNM absolutely......

  • @YTRulesFromNM Kid Rock is awesome in his own right, you ignorant hater.

  • @YTRulesFromNM

I couldn't have said that any better...

  • @YTRulesFromNM true dat, but dont diss sweet home alabama as a song. Skynyrd was the shiznit, kid rock is just a poser tho...

  • @YTRulesFromNM He should be slapped around the head with a stocking full of his own shite

  • This song made me wonder if there is any correlation between it, and the American Werewolf in London movie? Because I think they both did come out not to many years apart. Maybe just a coincidence. Anybody know?

  • american werewolf came out afterwards but i dont know why they used bad moon rising by creedence as the theme when they had this?

  • The soundtrack to An American Werewolf in London used only songs with the word "moon" in the titles. They were going for a theme

  • @ThailandKyle The song came out in 78, and the movie in 81.

However the movie (An American Werewolf in London) is clearly an homage to the 1935 film Werewolf of London. They share mostly the same plot, a similar title, and an almost identicle ending.

And an interesting side note, all the songs in that film (Bad Moon Rising by CCR, Moondance by Van Morrison, Blue Moon by Bobby Vinton, etc), all have the word "moon" in the title. Werewolves of London obviously doesn't fit the theme :p

  • I have been singing this song a lot lately and I don't know why. Then I figured out that they have been showing this KIA commercial over and over during the Austrailian Open, where the beginning notes on the commercial (piano) sound a lot like this song. Hence, can't get it out of my head now.

  • Warren Zevon and Joe Strummer on the same show? I hope everyone who was in the audience that night is aware there will probably never be two better artists than Joe and Warren!

  • ..thers loads of artists who are as gd

  • Rest In Peace Warren

You were a great man- One of a kind

  • priceless. long life the werewolf

  • As riffs go, via the piano, this is always a favourite.

  • "I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand" Brilliant...wtf...but brilliant.

  • I so miss Warren Zevon and his quirky, endearing ultra weird self- hope you're howling on the Other Side!!!!

  • Lon Cheney, the late great actor that played many horror films in the 20's, 30's and 40's.

  • I do believe he saw 'LON Chaney'... who is don? the silent brother?????

  • Zevon was the best, I'm gonna review his Genious album next month

  • i wonder what thee ole wolve's are doing too night....

  • is that Tommy Wright in the red shirt behind him?

  • kid rock takes dick in the ass

  • RIP Warren

  • kid rock was just paying homage to two great songs he wasnt trying to remake this song

  • This version is way better then kid rocks. But i may just be sayin that cus i hear all summer long about 50 times a day, and warren zevon is almost never played.

  • Your a dick !

  • chevy you sir are a moron warren rules

  • OMG! thats it OMG!!

  • At 14, I may have thought/said the same thing. You are forgiven.

  • yeah, youre a dumb kid!

  • I may only be 15 but I am in no doubt you are completely wrong!

  • Ever heard, oh I don't know, Rap, or a little shit band called My Chemical some shit or the other? I'd say they definitely suck alot worse than this. Mostly because this has about 0 suck in it and about infinite awesome. Go suck on the Jonas Brothers dicks.

  • I lol'd

  • I agree! these assholes should go fucking on those fellow assholes!

  • Wow, first reply I ever got from Honduras! Guess Warren fan's rock world round. Hello from the USA!

  • In a strange way Kid Rock has helped.

It means the younger ones find our about Warren Zevon, so then they can form their own opinions.

  • Miss ya Warren...thank you for your music.

  • Warren was the BEST of the best.

  • r.i.p. friend

  • Comment removed

  • I miss you Mr. Zevon.

  • Wrong, Kid Rock is doin a mix of Sweet home alabama and Warren Zevons Song, Kid even said that often.............

  • nope. kid rock's covering "sweet home alabama" from lynyrd skynyrd...

  • Is the a difference ?

  • Musical scores are from this song. Don't be silly fool.

  • When you "cover" a song you usually keep the original score and lyrics, ass.

  • the piano melody has the same beat to "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock

  • imagine that. kid rock is a plagarist like most rappers and...new country dinks.

  • Wow! Little did anyone suspect that both he and Joe Strummer would be gone within three years...

  • Whats the link between both ?

  • Oh. No real "link". It's just that they are on that same stage together (in this video), and Warren (jokingly) name drops Strummer's name in this version of Werewolves...

  • luvly job - Ta

  • Warren was visionary, musically thrilling, lyrical, poetic, inciteful, and touches those who listen deep in the soul.

  • too bad kid rock destroyed it

  • A big loss, can't help but wonder what more he would have come up with if he was still alive. What a great waste of talent.

  • Two weeks later and I still miss ya Warren!

  • Miss ya Warren.

  • wot jenny agitter film ? its not an american werewolf in london

  • Unlike Elvis, Lennon, Joplin, all those others who expired, death didn't make Zevon great...he was the absolute main man from the word Go...

  • OK Jayne, you got me banged to rights. Guess I'll just have to sit at the feet of Beyonce, Madonna and, God help us, Cher!

  • What are you talking about mossybot33, all of those people who died were great before death

  • beautiful

  • save one of those sandwiches up there for me my friend. we shall meet once again

  • i hope warren and i do too! hahaa...so make that two sandwiches!

  • RIP Warren. genius

  • Blue Moon of Kentucky - Elvis, or Blue Moon - Sam Cooke? Don't answer, I've found in on Wikipedia (that damn website that takes all the fun out of spending hours searching through the twaddle on Google, ha ha). Sam Cooke rocks too, just slower and smoother!

  • Not my fav zevon song, but I love this video. He seems contented.

  • That was Bad Moon Rising by C.C.R. My 2nd favourite Werewolf-themed song. Are there any others? This song bares special relevance to myself as I'd just met this great girl - an older woman, God we love them - and I was walking back to my place the next morning after staying the whole night. I was blasting this song out on my Boombox (do we still call those things Boomboxes?) to wake the neighbours up - it was 7 am. The dustmen weren't impressed, but I was beaming ;)

  • Aaaahooo!

  • I feel like an egg roll.

  • AWWOOOOOOO werewolves of London!

  • To comments about struggling to hit the high notes -so would you if you were dying of lung cancer which he was at the time.

  • As a die hard Zevon devotee, not to mention an avid fan of true genius sarcasm...that's the best ''Christ, are you an asshole'' return volley I've seen in long time. On behalf of the Zevon legion, nice job.

  • not many could hold a candle to warren ,.maybecohen and young or waits.

  • what the hell happened to the original version!!!!!!!!!!

    It was way better

  • He's that hairy-headed gent

    Who ran amok in Kent

And lately he's been overheard in Mayfair.

You can't beat these irreverent lyrics. I caught this performance on totp2 and it was the first Warren Zevon I heard; I was amazed at the playing.

  • LONG LIVE WARREN

  • what did you say about this song mightybudd

  • fuck youtube and these stupid ass copyright claims

  • "I saw Joe Strummer walking with the queen", brilliant!

  • genius line... "little old lady got mutilated late last night"

  • Simply And Also Absolutely Amazing!!

  • This is amazing. I really wish that he was still around.

  • This looks like one of those bad periods for Warren. At the least, he's obviously got a painful hangover, but still pulls off a damn good, workman-like performance. But where the hell did they ever get that audience full of stiffs--the morgue? On a night the Z-Man could have used a little helpful enthusiasm, was there a real facial expression on any of these clods? Well, if Warren can forget making a entire live record, hopefully he forgot these folks, and they all were returned to their comas.

  • Well, some people have a beef with his voice...fuckers...

Here's a quote from the re-mastered 'Warren Zevon' album liner notes:

"He had a limited instrument as a singer," says [Jackson] Browne. "It was always hard to record his voice. But, if you love those songs, they're inseparable from the guy who wrote them."

And he's right. In this video I see Zevon doing Zevon and nothing else.

  • At this point... wasn't his mesothelioma making it hard to breathe? I bet it made singing hurt like hell.

  • I have no idea how much anything had advanced at this point. He's a trooper though.

  • It's ironic that Jackson would refer to Z-Man's voice as "limited." In Rolling Stone's mostly positive review of Browne's 2nd album, Dave Marsh (I think) called his voice a "painful little bleat." Ouch!

I always thought of Warren's voice as a rather rich baritone. It was especially refreshing during his early years, because the trend seemed to be towards so many singers with very high (OK, annoyingly whiny) voices. Sure, there was some variety, but that Castrati club still got old real fast.

  • You can tell he's struggling to hit that high note, but he still hits it. Great song!

  • Miss ya Warren. Music just ain't the same without ya. RIP brotha. RIP.

  • love this!

  • ahooooooooooooo
