hey guys i was wondering, --- well i have a Energizer rechargeable thingy, and i was wondering, when the batteries are done charging, should i take them out or is it ok to keep the batteries in?
Yes, The Powerex Imedion are better and hold 85 percent of there charge after a year but the eneloop are not be ignored either. If i remember right they hold 75 percent of there charge after a year. The Duracell Precharge are EXACTLY the same battery from sanyo just a different label. Just remember slow charging on a 2 hour plus charger prevents damage and prolongs life to the battery.
Low self-discharge(LSD) likes of Eneloops are more reliable to use than non-LSD with higher capacity for the most users, unless you keep recharging daily or weekly.
I like the slow charging(about 4 hours) unit comes with Eneloop kit more than Rayovac 1 hour charger. I have a few batteries that became almost useless because of not re-charging to full capacity. When I start using Eneloop charging unit, they start working normally again and they don't get hot while being charged.
In no tests I've seen have the Imedion trumped the eneloop.
One thing to watch with eneloop is the current trend of them packaging them with crap slow chargers. The original data sheet says they can be safely charged at up to 2000ma current. So a decent 1 hour charger (not faster like the 30min or 15min types) is fine. Get one with individual charging channels and several different cut-off technologies (like temperature, voltage and timer) and you will be fine. Buy the batteries separately.
There is truth to that, but with a high quality 1 hour charger....say one with built in cooling fan, you're fine with the quicker ones. The 15min SUPER quick, however, would be detrimental. I use a quality 1 hour charger with eneloop and point a USB operated fan at them.....they stay proper cold all through the charging cycle. Best of both worlds.....speed and long life. However even without the fan I doubt the heat would damage their capacity too much.
Eneloops are indeed the best. I bought 54 of them and replaced every other battery in my house and at work. I am using them since 2 years and I am happy with them more then ever.

Duracell Precharge has switched companies from eneloop to Rayovac. Rayovac isn't very good so stay away and buy real Eneloops or Powerx Imedions.
