  • 2:01 Simpsons?

  • Hi

I am worried about the keys as the MPK25 I have just sold was a bit to hard to press down therefore making it a bit to hard to play as a piano. Are they light to touch?

  • but um!!!

  • Comment removed

  • lol i thought its a chinese guy then BAm the ginger apears

  • Can I use it with FL studio?

  • this and komplete 8 and im set <3

  • wersion...

  • @zipproductionz mpk 25 !! nice small and campatible...i wanna know if the MPK 25 MPC Pads are as bad as people say :/.

  • @KhamaliKellyMusic

I just bought the mpk49 and was seriously disappointed with the pads.

I assume the 25 would be just the same.

There are some videos of 'fixes' but they often look to be very cheasy and cheap.

At the same time, people have also said that the pads are the same as on the MPC line of Akai products. It's apparently their norm. But I was disappointed. They honestly don't feel like pads to me, they feel like touch sensitive buttons, because you have to really press into them.

  • @NeverReality keep in mind that the pads also respond to pressure.

  • @KhamaliKellyMusic

That being said I haven't returned my MPK49. I very much like it. The control bank buddy was talking about for the sliders and knobs work great, the keys feel nice. The Arpeggiator and 'Latch' functions work nicely. And the pads aren't sensitive, but they have lots of options.

I think I would have bought a Novation Impulse if there was a local dealer that carried them.

  • Whats the best AKAI mpk that is out for house music producing?

  • I want one!!!

  • It breaks my heart to see there's no controller with motorized faders.. or is there??? if not, what are my options??? AND, how would u compare the keys to, say, Yamaha or Korg..???

  • @soroutstendor CME VX Series.

  • brilliant vid. Thanks

  • they should have put the MPC sequencer in it and a joystick style pitch bender.... that would have made it perfect

  • Why dislike this video?

Best overview of the mpk that I've seen...

  • @fimpson Because he couldn't multiply 4 by 16? Who knows? You are right, this was a great review but you can't please every miserable git out there!

  • Uch, could Ableton Live's interface be any uglier?? :S

  • hahahah "the other wersions" :)

  • The keys are loud because they're heavy weighted.

    It's not science lol.

  • @TheOneAndOnlyMe92 And if this keyboard existed without all the sliders and knobs and buttons, I'd buy it.

  • @TheOneAndOnlyMe92 Yea, and the piano is a percussion instrument lol Real piano keys are loud too :P

  • @djruinerdotcom Yeah exactly. I've owned a real piano for over 16 years and it's keys aren't silent. There's no such thing as a quiet piano or keyboard. Every instrument in the world makes some sort of noise lol

  • omg keys ARE Loud arghh why am I so picking with that >_< arghh

  • just play the fucker omg

  • Excellent introduction video, this is very helpful!

  • Does this have sound drivers on it? Otherwise, what software could be used with it to produce sounds live?

  • @ryguy09264 drivers are contained within the computer, it doesn't produce any sounds itself and you can use it with most any audio software you can think of, as long as it has midi capabilities

  • would it be crazy to sell my fantom x6 to get one of these?? i want to get a macbook pro too. So this and a macbook is a good trade for the fantom x6???? what do you think?? also can this sample external sounds/music???

  • Does this work with Pro Tools 9 and Komplete 7?

  • hello everybody im fucker

  • the only bad thing is the stiff pads!

  • does this keyboard have speakers so that you can play without plugging into a keyboard?

  • @ABUIK

    Nop.

  • can i plug this keyboard in midi into my akai beat machine the xr20 and hear it in the beat machine so i can just loop through my machine?? if not what keyboard can i do that with?? i got all my drum patterns stuck in my beat machine i need a keyboard to finish the beats off

  • I don't like "thick keys" i have midi keyboard and both are "skinny keys" :)

i use reason 4 for both controllers

  • This one is the best wersion!

  • @Erwinismyname wersion.

  • Question: I am a vocalist who wants to further his piano skills, but that would also like to get into music production. I am looking for possibly an 88 or 76 hammer action keys controller, 800 us dollars max. I am undecided bet. this MPK 88 and the Casio Privia px330. Basical looking for something thats on the starter end of professional in which I can practice playing in and maybe get inspired by and make some tracks. I'm leaning towards this Akai but the weight and keys complaints hold me back

  • thanks

  • I'm using the mpk88 and the truth I have some problems. In just four months knobs are failing, the values go up and down randomly with no reason. The aftertouch is very hard to play!. Keys should be pressed hard to sound and this affects the overall speed ...not what I thought. I don't recommend this keyboard.

  • less talk more play

  • This is just a controller right? I mean I can't actually play it without a computer?'cause I've seen it in a store and I like the way it feels under my fingers, but I need somethig to play with and without my computer...

  • @RhymeByRhyme I recommend a Synthesizer. A bit more expensive than midi keyboards but it plays you don't need a computer.

  • @RhymeByRhyme

You can find free or relativly cheap Virtual instruments on the net. But yes, you do need a computer.

  • i´M WAITING FOR MINE

  • @nomecaloguevo how many midi outs duz it have? and how can control more than one sound module wit it? and if i get that wud my mpc be needed? please gimme a holla back sorry for the long ass comment

  • @nomecaloguevo I don't recommend you this keyboard...

  • @Solaris1992 Why not ? ? is there something wrong with it's build quality, functionality ?

  • what kind of desk is that? thats perfect for me.

  • Is this just a MIDI keyboard or does it come with audio presets? and does this just work with ableton? Also, can you load different sounds onto the pads??

  • Comment removed

  • keys feel are like motif 8 or m-audio keystation pro88? thanks

  • @acetatostereo more like m-audio...

  • Can u use this with cubase. ANd can u do the kinda stuff they do in the xx with it

  • @OllieTheWiseOne You can use it with any DAW. I think it even has a pre loaded preset pre installed for cubase... However if you're planning to buy and use it on FL studio - you're gonna have one heck of a time setting it up!

  • @HybridDragons chears mate :) can u record straight in with it and like use it as a midi imput to compose aswlls

  • What did he say his name was?

  • are the keys real feel on this??

  • Akai just replaced my M-Audio Keystation Pro 88! It improves on every problem I've ever had on the Keystation.

    M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 problems:

    -Pressed board bottom.

    -Feels cheap

-Velocity sensors break (playing any note way too loud)

    -No Aftertouch

-Pitch bend wheel feels stiff so you can't use it

    -No drum pads

    Thank you Akai!

  • you wont care about a bit of mechanical noise when playing in any normal situation, most live music venues are relatively noisy in one way or another. my keystation pro is said to be noisy but i dont think about it when i'm concentrating on the sound from my speakers. mpk88 looks like it will be the market leader for weighted keys.

  • im gonna get my mpk49 tomorow cant whait whonted it in 2 years

  • Thank you for doing this in English as well!!! Much appreciated.

  • @neBo503

    @MusikSchmidt

Yes, you guys seem to have a lot of good gear you demo, but very few in English. Honestly, I'm not really complaining, tho - just even including captions would be great. Thanks for posting!

  • Does anyone know what type of desk that is? (the big black desk that everything is set up on)

  • WHAT is that mixer that he has in front of him??

  • @ashanbour It looks like the M-Audio Project Mix I/O. There was also the other AKAI control surface off to the side.

  • a mpd32

  • @ashanbour I think that's a M-Audio ProjectMix I/O

  • @ashanbour Get a Mackie Control Universal Pro

  • I got one!

  • @topgun9491 does this keyboard play different sounds, like violin, trumpet, etc..

  • @2384539 No its just a midi controller

  • @topgun9491 what do you think about it?

  • @topgun9491 what do u think about the action of the keys? does it compare to a real piano?

  • @topgun9491 How is it....Because I'm planning to buy one on Wednesday. I just sold my 25 key Novation SL MK II because I needed a 88 key for piano lessons, so I was fixated on copping this one because all of the other ones were either crappy or they didn't have the feature set like the mpk. (Studiologic, CME, M-audio)

  • @topgun9491 How do you like the keys compared to other digital pianos or real pianos? Are they realistic in the hammer-action? I am choosing between this, Fatar vmk-188 plus or CME UF80, what I heard so far is that Fatar have the best keys but Akai have more controller possibilities.

  • @M3sslah i think the best thing is what you can do is to go in a shop who have the mpk and try this. its better then you buy this for ~700€ and you don't like that ;)

  • @KingUDERZO I actually bought the Fatar VMK 188 plus and I just love it, I doubt the Akai will beat it when it comes to the keys. And since it is alot cheaper than the Akai I can just buy a Novation Remote SL Zero and get really nice knobs and sliders. Fatars main business is to do high-end masterkeyboards, something they have done a long time so I tested that and a CME UF80 and even if the CME felt pretty damn good the Fatar was better, it followed your fingers nice and felt close to a grand.

  • @topgun9491 how does the weight of the keys feel? and also, you've this for a year now. how have the keys held up? much appreciated for your feedback

  • @topgun9491 If you got one can you tell me if its good for techno music? plz

  • gosh i want 1

  • oh gaaawd the things I'd do to it

  • How does this one or the 49 one work with 64bit driver's?

  • Are the rotary knobs endless???

  • @5lick000 Yea they are

  • £599 GBP And it will soon be mine

  • Pads feel great, but response-wise a little disappointing. But with a little modification it should work flawlessy. The hammer-action has a slightly heavier resistance when compared to the horugel grand piano that I have. I've played the piano for some time and I personally feel the keys on this unit feel wonderful to the touch; very much like playing on a grand.

  • How are the pads? I've heard mpk pads feel cheap.

  • compared to an MPC yea.. they feel like the pads on the MPD.. good enough, but you would think for $800 they would use the same pads they use on the MPC2500

  • i played with this at guitar center today as well the mpc pads feel wayyyyyy better than the ones on the 49 ima sell my mpk 49 and save the money towards this one!!

  • thanks

  • what is the price?

  • 799.00

  • I played around with one at guitar center and it feels great.. i wanna get one.. the keys felt just like a grand.. quality shit.. and its built like a tank..

  • weighted keys like motif 8? or m-audio keystation pro88? thanks

  • better than keystation.

  • thanks mang hows it hanging

  • it is connected alone with usb or it demands also the cable midi

  • Im Video sagst Du Hammermechanik, auf der Homepage steht halbgewichtete Tasten, was stimmt denn nun ?

  • Auf dem Keyboard selbst steht Hammer Action, ich nehme also mal an das Stimmt. ;)

  • Musik-Schmit International :)

  • jetzt auch noch englisch :D top!
