  • I was there! Great performance - intimate setting at New George's = he's the life of the party to his followers so matter what he's up to!

  • Was actually Jack Daniels. his throat was hurting real bad that nite, (near the end of the tour) and he said f**k it..if it is going to hurt I am not going to feel it.....felt bad for the people who paid good money for the tickets.

  • This one of my top ten favorite Todd songs & video. SO CUTE!!

    {{TODD}}

  • Todd was a little "too far gone"

    But still kicked ass

  • He;s only human :)

  • wow, this video is from exactly 21 years ago today :) This video is as old as I am and it still kick ass

  • This was after Todd nearly Downed an entire bottle of Jack Daniels!

  • Why did I get a negative mark, It's the truth! He downded a bottle of jack when he walked out on stage! Look at the bottle on his piano, Duhh!

  • Yeah, this was during his drinking phase - he's kinda sloppy. But still, he's better drunk than most are sober! I'll always love him....his music has taught me so much about arrangement, harmony, chord voicings, melody...and his lyrics are unparalleled. His wit and humor are always fun, and his ingenuity and pioneering spirit always put him light years ahead of his time. Plus, who else could thumb their nose at the record industry and still sustain such a prolific career? A Wizard A True Star.

  • Maybe somebody gave you a bad mark because it wasn't Jack Daniels Toddy was drinking mojorisen74 . It was a bottle of Ballantine's Scotch Whiskey. His favorite at the time.

  • Ballantine's 12 year old scotch whiskey to be exact.

  • Luv U Mojo! I'm not worthy. Wasn't me. I know better. I love this intimate performance.

  • haha this was a great show but he's really drunkin' it...listen to how he fucks up the changes sometimes. Great stuff still though, i really like these one man shows

  • I love Todd, this song, the album and everything he's ever done. Of all the artists and musicians out there, he is the "only" one that I can say that I absolutely love every single song he's written.

  • Every single song is a little bit much to believe. However, he is fantastic.

  • I saw the same solo tour in Hollywood CA (I believe it was at The Palace if I'm not mistaken). Todd had a PC on stage, and had Roger Powell bits midied for a lot of the songs...

I guess this must've been the first show utilizing midi technology for a back-up band. Todd carried it off beautifully, with a psychedelic light show, and his great in-between song patter.

It's great seeing this clip, from a fantastic time waaay back when!

  • This song(which is very underrated) and hurting for you are my favourites on the Hermit album,

  • This song made me look at all of his other albums not just the singles. Thanks for the great albums

  • I'm going to kill myself to this song.

    Thank you for reading this.

  • @BandanaDan

    Me too Dan! LOL!

This, & Love is the Answer! ; )

  • @BandanaDan That's Beutiful!

  • Thanks Thumper - love clips like this !! Hermit of Mink Hollow was my first TR album - loved him ever since ...

  • I recall as a teenager feeling amazed that Todd sang every voice and played every instrument on that album. What a talent.

  • just love this song

  • Adorable clip. Thanks for having it!

  • There are a couple of Todd's songs that I've searched for through torrent sites and anywhere else where there might be a possibility of finding them. It's how I came up with a couple of the ones I've uploaded, here.

If anyone has any connections or leads....I would love to find "Be Nice To Me" and "Hope I'm Around" 2 of my all time "take to a desert island" with me... Rundgren favorites.

  • thanks-one of my favorite todd songs, but heck, he can sing the phone book and i'd listen

  • Very Nice! Love the banter at the end of clip. Pure Todd! Looks like "TR in '88" tour circa 1987.
