    ~EMma

  • u said the front is busted out like 10000000000000 TIMES

  • awesome

  • PS. Great Job by the way!!!!!!

  • @Stellalicious83 Hey thanks!

  • SO AWESOME! I love the Jackel! I'm going to watch and keep you video for next years Halloween costume! thanks for sharing!! :)

  • Hey two questions- 1) How long did you spend total actually making the cage. 2) How are you going to keep it on? Will it attach to your head so its able to turn as you turn your head?

  • @jbrussell8 not sure actual time. It room me 4 days working on it after work and painting. What took the longest was cutting out the parts and all 72 of the small rivets then forming them. Other than that it goes together fairly decent. I built it while watching tv so it could have went faster. To keep on I have it strapped to my Straight Jacket with straps. It does not turn with my head. Holler if you have any more questions!

  • is it only me that wonders why it is the front is busted outwards in the first place!? :/ wierd but i do love the jackal even though im a torn prince xD

  • @HarliQuinnProduction lol I wondered that too. Because a face sure as heck cant bust it out. Only thing I can guess was he pulled it with hands... who knows lol

  • @HarliQuinnProduction The back story to the Jackal is pretty extensive and interesting but to sum it up quick he was bound in his straightjacket and the metal cage was put on his head to keep him from chewing through the jacket. There was a fire at the asylum he was at and the fire heated up the metal to the point where he could break the front off before he was burned alive.

  • after watching this vid again. i am now seriously thinkin of doing a scary slash sexy female version of THE JACKAL now. gonna do it for next year.

  • @CRiMSON83MiA Oh that would be cool. There is still time to do one for this year! lol I made my own Straight Jacket that took the longest to do, Since had to sew it and all.

  • THE JACKAL is my fave ghost from the movie! the cage came out awesome. hope that u post more vids or pix of you making the rest of out or of the finished outfit.

  • @CRiMSON83MiA Hey thanks for the comment! I have the rest complete. I made the jacket then just aded makeup and a wig. About it. Will post pictures or video here soon. This is my costume this year and so far really enjoying it.

  • ICECREAM!

  • That is AwEsOmE!! You are inspiring to be more adventurous this Halloween. You totally rocked it!

  • @80sgirlzrock Hey thank you!!

  • You did an incredible job... I wish I had seen this before I started mine for a recreation I'm doing for my effects class. I'm making mine out of aluminum. For reference, though, how did you get the foam to curve at the front?

  • @GasolineDoll Thank you! To get it to curl like that you pinch the foam with your fingers as you curl it.Pinch and curl. Pinching it softens the foam so it is not as brittle. Once Curled it stays. Good luck and thanks for watching!

  • i want to be the jackal for the haunted house in my town this year. This is awesome I will try my best to make it just like this. haha. this is really helpful thank you for showing this.

  • @suspender2008 no problem. Glad the video was a help. If you have any problems or questions let me know. Drop me a message and I will help out best I can

  • i still wanna know why its called the jackall?!

  • @mickeymurderous good question lol

  • Awesome! You are very talented! It's a dead ringer for the one in the movie!

  • @Liebling05 thank you for the kind words!

  • I actually cannot thank you enough for putting this on here!!! I've been hoping someone had done a tutorial for this exact costume piece! JACKAL LOVE FOREVER!

    *Screams like an insane fangirl*

I know what I'm gonna be doing for the next few days <3

  • @CastIntoTheAbyss hey glad the video was helpful. If you have any questions feel free to ask, just send me a message

  • How dfid you get the foam to curl?

  • scary syht!!!

  • Artist FTW!

  • gj I really like the movie,

  • that must have been the best jackle costume ever lol

  • @noodlemonkey6 They very easy to make. Just takes a little bit of time and patience. Mainly due to cutting out many of the same part. The construction goes together in few minutes. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck!

  • @noodlemonkey6 Sold!

  • Yeah ill admit it kinda got annoying after awhile and its hard to run around with it and not run into someone. But all and all i really loved playing the jackal.

  • Good job on the Jackal cage. I play the jackal at a haunted house except my cage was pure metal.

  • @KYnemesis Very cool! I would like to make a metal one also. It would last forever so that would be very nice. I bet it was a bit heavy to wear around after a while...lol

  • @longlegs9195 Hey thanks for the nice comment. I'm really not sure about selling them. It is so easy to make though. The foam is very easy to work with and forgiving. It just takes some patience to cut out a lot of the same part. But once everything is cut out it goes together very fast. If you need more detailed info let me know I can help you out.

  • wow im subing that is great work. you should sell props on the internet.

  • @oddsource Thanks for the awesome comment! Sounds like a good idea too ;-)

  • thanks so much, me and my friend do a halloween on christmas party nd i wanted to be something scray and gory so i chose the jackel. thanks for the tutorial, really helps, i was thinking styrofoam but the the insulations styrofoam is much better

  • @UkaLailie Hey glad you liked it. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Hope you guys enjoy it!

  • @darkanimefiend thank you for the nice comment!

  • That is freakin' awesome dude!! XD

  • where can i buy the foam from? or what kind of foam is it? if you don't mind me asking

  • @stephiestella Hey np, The foam is DOW Blue Protection Board. They sell it at Lowes. Home Depot has similar stuff but theirs is pink

Go the the section that has giant sheets of foam insulation. There usually have sheets that are 3/4" thick or 1" thick. Those sheets are like 4' x 8' easy to spot. This stuff here comes in a bundle folded up in an accordion style. It should be next to the bigger ones. It comes in a bundle that is 2'x4' and is folded up and is maybe 30 sheets or so. Hope this helps

  • @stephiestella oops forgot this stuff is only 1/4" thick. It is fairly thin but very easy to use

  • ....i love you! you just made my life 10 times easier. i have a question though, since ill be in a crowded place will the cage stand a bump or two? ive never used foam board before so im not sure how sturdy it is.

  • @IrishZombie77 well it is foam so you have to be careful. It can give and flex a little so not to bad. No major bending though. I think it would work out fine and should hold up. I use this stuff for many different things I make. So far no issues with anything breaking. Good luck and ty for the kind words!

  • i would be scared pink if i saw a guy walking down the street dressed like the jackal!! he is sooooo scary! but nice cage btw, its awesome..

  • @deekid311 Haha yeah he is a pretty scary looking dude. Thanks for the comment!
