  • im embarrased for carlos santana..it was definitely a publicity move for GB to play with him...i hate when great players have to to average ones just because people with low iq's and shitty taste cant recognize true musicianship. this is like when herbie hancock played with tre anastasio of phish. some popular sophmoric pea brain gets his ass kissed by a bona fide genius because records need to sell. gay. the 5 who didn't like it get props

  • Who's the drummer? Is that Harvey Mason?

  • Marry me!

  • They call it "smooth jazz," but in the 70's and 80's, they knew how to write a tune. And don't forget about improv, especialy here.

  • 76th year, and so good quality of video! Nice

  • Esta melodia nos transporta a otra dimension, Gracias Santana, gracias George Benson....que duo!!!!.

  • This is just classic! Two of thet greatest guitarists ever. (My other favorites are Mclaughlin, Jeff Beck, Wes Montgomery, Hendrix, and a few others who I can't bring to mind). I'm so glad this was posted. Thank you.

  • 5 people were looking for Justin Bieber and then find their selves here and could not comprehend with this kind of music, thumb up if you agree.

  • wow!!! awesome never seen this one before....fantastic!!! just love it....they are so cool...

  • @dianepakai ur right andall!! thanks to both _ give my regards from ray to george

  • Two classics workin' a classic! Outta sight! Just don't git no betta!

  • sin duda los mejores¡¡

  • Fantastic...Santana sounded like John Mclaughlin at one point :) everyone was listening to him including Benson. These 2 could not ignore the artistry and uniqueness of each others playing and recordings back then!lol!.it would be GREAT if they did a colaboration CD today!...like the Benson/Klugh and Benson/Al Jarreau collaboration, it would be awesome! .I didnt know the guitarist Gabor Szabo actually wrote this tune...another very unique guitarist-I remember listening to him back in the day.

  • do you have this whole show? Season 5 ep. 26? I know for sure that van morrison sang in that episode but I can't find it anywhere!!!!

  • The true mark of a real musician. They look and play off each other. Greatness.

  • nice

  • ich hab santana nie besonders gemocht, aber er kickt ass....

  • Que George Benson te presente como "El gran Carlos Santana" no tiene precio...ahi te puedes morir y te vas feliz de la tierra.

  • the two different sounds of Carlos's and George's guitar work so well together!!!!

    Thumbs up if you agree!

  • Where can I buy Midnight Special?? Man the memories! Thanks for the post! Oh yeah!

  • Increiblemente una de las mejores intrepretaciones que he escuchado y una de mis piezas predilectas por muchos años.

  • so nice so nice !i dont know what say!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bring back flares!!

  • @rezarito, Both Carlos Santana and George Benson have two different stlyes! They're both one of a kind with there own individual styles! This performance by Carlos Santana and George Benson was not intended to be a competition! They both have class, and appreciate one anothers stlye!

  • damn, now thats good music! goes so well with my whiskey on the rocks!

  • i don't have a lot of sound is it normal ?and it's just onthis video why ?

  • Kinda would have been nice if George had also given props to the late, great Hungarian jazz guitarist, Gabor Szabo, who originally wrote this song. youtube it - it's awesome too!

  • I simply cannot get enough of this! Simply beautiful yo!

    ~Tasi Alofa~

  • Two of my favorites. Wish I could have been there.

  • carlos santana is one baaaaad motha finga

  • see them groovin'

  • MAGIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 'Anytime' I hear this it is special. Two greats playing this amazing piece of music - always takes my back to Miami, late 70's, skipping like a stone across Biscayne Bay with my friends while George Benson's music filled the air on the boat sterio, in the car, and in the clubs - turn it all the way up! Soooooo Sweet!!

  • carlos santana +george benson=

    a goodtime on guitars

  • Excellent!

  • This episode was actually recorded in 1977. They did two songs together on the episode. The other was Valdez In The Country.

  • Sweet music!!!!

  • it´s not about competition , you fools ...

  • From the look on George Benson's face he ain't never seen nothin' the likes of Carlos Santana!!!

  • Whoever disliked this must be deaf.

  • ~~~2 of My favorites together!~~

  • what can i say...

  • That was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed on/off screen....I was so moved with emotion, carried along the intertwined notes that constitute the chorus itself, and variants of it, combined with the chords and I felt like my soul had been awakened to something immaculately beautiful without flaws in a state of perpetual happiness...I've never yearned to buy an acoustic guitar and just jam to this all day long with my closest friends on a seemingly endless hot summer day.....ahhh :)

  • Benson just had Carlos for lunch... ;-)

  • @rezarito Bull shit and I hope Benson didn't think that he blew away Santan, because he didn't

  • @rezarito In your dreamz

  • good

  • bueno muy bueno

  • Two of the best ,both unique players

  • Genial !!!

  • aww man I've always wondered what this number was called and SURE ENOUGH it comes up on the suggested videos and I had a hunch this was the one I was looking for!

  • breezin is probably Benson's most popular yet simple recordings.... i'm a benson fan until i die but i actually hate this song... the whole breezin album is just OK to me.. now put on some bad benson, new boss guitar, or live at Carnegie Hall and you'll hear/see some smashmouth jazz not smooth jazz junk

and i almost pissed myself watching santana's facial expressions! HILARIOUS

  • @xXironraiderXx

Body Talk is Vintage Benson as well. I STILL can't play some of the licks on "Plum" after all these years. Maybe if I listened to Jazz instead of Jimi Hendrix and Jimi Page when I started playing, it wouldn't be so hard to play. I never knew why my high school music teachers ragged the shit out of Rock (Rap and Hip-Hop wasn't around back then lol), but now I'm starting to see why.

  • benson is on fire!

  • Yamaha electric guitar VS Ibanez electric guitar.

Carlos Santana was still using his custom made Yamaha SG guitar.

  • another awsome vid, wanna go buy it...lol

  • You guys don't think Carlos played well look at Benson's face!!! It say's it all!!!

  • carlos was hella flat

  • @kalpal67 still excellent though especially in the little trade off at the end

  • Huh, it might just be me, but Carlos didn't really seem to be in his element in that session. I don't think his ideas connected as well as they usually do. Still I thought it was nice (I liked Benson's shredding at the end).

  • Who needs 3-chord rock and roll when you've got 2-chord jazz?

I have yet to hear a good version of this repetitive tune... not Benson's, not Szabo's, not Womack's original...

And bringing on Santana, who was a much bigger name than Benson when this aired, was good strategic marketing for Benson, but what a lot of pointless noodling.

  • @tuxguys don't fool yourself or try and fool others! rock will never be equal to jazz on any level because it is derived from blues which is derived from jazz! IDIOT!

  • tumeke
