  • Regulation is a government scam. Deregulated any industry is subject to the desires of the customers. What the (D) guys want is government control not customer control. They need it to keep wars and stupid policies from being revealed.

  • Black Wednesday - Orwell is calling us again.

  • This is doubleungood,

  • I love the unfounded critiques of America in the comment section. It's nothing more than banal discourse without even worthwhile alternatives.

Half of the people making these comments aren't even aware of other factors related to the claims they are making. It doesn't sit well with me, which is why it leads me to believe you all are just a bunch of rambling nutbars with a misguided agenda.

  • Last time I was in America I actually stopped watching TV and listening to radio altogether. Even the programs that, on the surface, seem like they ought to be interesting, are tainted with what I can only describe as an anti-intellectual agenda, one that makes no effort to pretend otherwise.. How the next generation of Americans is even to discover Orwell, I do not know.

  • @gamegloss You are not alone. This monopolization of media will have no mass-conditioning function until a critical mass of Americans becomes so illiterate as to believe most everything they see/read/hear on TV or online. In fact, among younger Americans, cynicism and inherent disbelief in printed or broadcast information, a healthy skepticism, is flourishing. Those most likely to respond to broadcast information unthinkingly are people over 50.

  • look at 3.52 how those cops are unnecessarily rough with the lady that sings. Why don't they just escort her normally?

  • WHen I saw the title my first reaction was..."THE CATCH ME ROLLIN' MY FRONT LAWN..."

  • America has become the geographical center for the globalist techno-dictatorship of power and wealth by corporate-military-organized crime alliance that transcends national borders. Operates thru confluence of interests & power, from mass-media and Pentagon profiteers to Wall Street, London Capital of Finance, Central Banks, IMF, World Bank, United Nations, NATO, CFR, Bilderbergers, etc. The reality of totalitarianism aka Fascism. This is hardly 'news', the travesty of faux democracy ie. 1984.

  • doubleplusthinkful!

  • Your founding fathers would be rolling in their graves. Yet when your nationalism is challenged you salute to the flag like the trained puppets some of you are. Democracy, what democracy.

  • See that, white women gettin pulled out by blacks and foriegnors, this is how they get shit done and its fucked up, Rather then booooing and joinin in singin they act like pigs, when they lost their democracy as well...stupid people..

  • well duh! that what a media is!

  • AUSTRALIAN COMING TO AMERICA TO FIGHT FOR FREEDOM AND LIBERTY

I'm an Australian and coming to America to fight for freedom and liberty on the Ron Paul 2012 campaign to restore your constitution. I am documenting my entire journey on libertyeverafter. com

If you can offer any assistance in terms of friendship, accommodation advice or part time work, please email Nick, info [@] libertyeverafter. com

  • I believe I may have brought this documentary in Poundland

  • Micheal Copps has always been the only true voice of dissent as a member of the FCC.

Indeed, even most of the agencies democrat members, like the current chairman,Julius Genachowski, favor the interests of business.

Just recently, former FCC member Republican Meredith Attwell Baker took a job with Comcast, almost the very moment after the FCC appoved the merger between Comcast and NBC.

  • America has become a facist police state. Deal with it.

  • @BlueStateChronicle Yes it has, and I for one an going to deal with it. I am going over to help restore their constitution on the Ron Paul revolution.

  • look around how america destroyed almost whole world ,its 3world war done step by step ,so slowly that u dont recognise the danger, and we lost this war ,they are too powerfull and personally i dont have a clue what shld we do they have their superwapons and in our hand is tv remotecontrol

  • If America is such a "joke" why does most of the world emulate so much of what Am. represents? Too bad our true character has become distorted by the secret corporate takeover and corruption of most of our institutions. The mockery directed at the average Am. should more rightly be directed at the philosophy of greed put out by corporatism. Many Am.s finally see the emptiness of its promises. There seems to be a move back toward appreciating the protections conferred by our constitution. I hope.

  • George Orwell is rolling in his grave for if he was still alive today he would of died due to sadness and fear that his book 1984 is coming true.

I trully weep for the future generations who will have to live in this horrible life of 1984 becoming a reality.

  • @narukofan2 It has Already Become Reality

  • Those ladies reminded me of charles Manson's harem....anyway, where's the crisis? Aren't our teachers teaching our kids critical thinking which will....oh yeah, they're in Madison, Wisconson now , tolarating vile protest signs and accepting falsified medical excuse slips, fighting for thier "right" to retire like queens and kings off my endless tax dollars.

  • TIME TO TAKE BACK DEMOCRACY

Take control of the media and make it your own. Join groups. Elect true and honest men and women. Do not vote for the traditional parties as they have deceived. Become one with nature and the World. Become one with our nations. Stand by and for what is good. Do not replace bad with chaos. Take control and Work within the system. RECLAIM DEMOCRACY AND TAKE ACTION IN THE LEGAL PROCESS OF ELECTING GOOD MEN AND WOMEN.

  • George isn't rolling in his grave, he is more like: "Told you so"

  • The only "centralization" politicians want would be in Washington in the form of government beurocrats and thier dictates.

  • ~~> And now we have Comcast... Only...

  • Manufacturing Consent -- Chomsky

    Read it!!

  • This video should go viral! Here is a presentation of one of the most important issues of our time. Notice the police ushering out dissenters! Tell everyone about this.

  • Orwell was a fabian, he knew this was going to happen, why would he roll in his grave

  • We need a revolution in this country

  • WAR IS PEACE

    SLAVERY IS FREEDOM

    IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

    Hahahaha. Way to go, suckas!

  • all these issues sound the same to me anymore

campaign finance reform is the only real change i can see.

otherwise politicians are legally prostituted out in broad daylight, left or right.

  • Paul Revere would have been "CENSORED"!

  • Colin Powell's son that big fat oreo cookie. Has to have daddy make a few phone calls so he can land a patronage cozy job. I hope he chokes on the next super big mac he gobbles into. The toad.

  • @wovokanarchy Oh, and Whites don't hook each other up with "unearned" jobs? I think it's a big part of the culture. Racial nepotism is vast in the White community, you hypocrite.

  • -when really it's the most biased news in this nation. Another slogan they use is We report, You decide. That's the biggest piece of shit media on the planet. Bunch uh dumbass neo-conservative bigots. FUCK THE FCC AND FUCK FOX NEWS!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck that shit, just take Fox News off the air-ways. Or throw Rupert Mordick in jail for intentionally deceiving the American public on issues such as WMD in Iraq. They pushed for us to bomb Iran which thankfully never happened although undoubtebly they are next. Also they pushed the Bush Administrations lies regarding the connection between al qaida and iraq. Fox fought on these issues until it was widely known that we were deceived by the Bush Administration. They claim it's fair and balanced-

  • Right now, we have more information available and easier a access to it than ever before. Despite earlier predictions, the advance of technology has, almost always, given us more and better options.

People will inevitably see dark linings to silver clouds, and claim that we're worse off now than ever and that the future looks grim. Eternal vigilance is important, but right now things are good and trending better. Maybe the historic trend is about to reverse, but that's usually a bad bet.

  • @ghuegel So immature. Increased techology does not mean "better". Things are getting worse and worse not because of access or options, but because of deceptive practice and systemic dishonesty.

  • @RobertMOdell Let's say I want to know about... Newtonian physics... quick google search... there it is. I wonder about the French Revolution... what's this?, hundreds of pages of free content... or I can buy scholarly literature, a great variety of perspectives, at $10 a pop. Prime numbers... what're the practical implications?... oh, encryption, savants... wonder about savants... wow, the human mind is interesting...

All this information, right there for me! What dishonesty?

  • @ghuegel History is by definition a story told to promote the political aim of the victors. When they hold a trial, they take the testimony of witnesses, they don't consult academia or look up what they want on the Internet. Why? Because there is a different kind of truth (called situational awareness) that acedemia cannot address and the Internet can rarely address.

  • @RobertMOdell Man, I hate the system... is anybody revolted by the status quo?... Oh, Marx... so he thought human liberation is about the people controlling the means of production for the good of all... interesting. Is there another perspective?... oh, Adam Smith thought individuals making free decisions would lead to a better human society... invisible hand? Oh, mixed economy... easy enough to research. 9/11?... fucking Islam! No, false flag!....

So much info... must decide for myself....

  • @ghuegel Ever heard of disinformation? Why don't you look up where Holloway's body is buried if you think that technology is making life so much better. While you are at it, look up the share ownership of the NY Federal Reserve Bank, pull up the list of times that Paulson or Geithner, or Bernank lied to congress. How about video feeds of real news instead of the manufactured lies that we now have?

  • @RobertMOdell Holloway?... is that the girl who was murdered? There's never been total justice. Gov't lying to people?... is that a new thing? I submit that it's been far easier in the past to perpetrate such lies. Consider, where could you get info 100 years ago... despite organizations trying to lie, I say that it was easier to get away with lies 100 years ago than today. Am I wrong? I'm only saying it's better now and getting better... when was info more available?

  • Have no fear, Megacorps, the FCC is pushing forward to limit free speech on the internet, radio and television! Your interests will be protected, so you can continue to push your radical agenda to take over the entirety of the earth and enslave mankind in peace. Communist? Fascist? Corporatist? Irrelevant, for these are all the same people.

Philip Dru, Administrator was written by one of the men who helped bring the plan together on American soil over the course of multiple administrations.

  • Thank you to whoever created this video. A lot of people do not understand the power of media and language. Money are created to serve as a tool for humans, and I understand the importance of economic freedom and efficiency; however, one needs to watch out that money can cease to be a human tool, and become a threat to basic humans values.

  • If ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) gets passed the Internet would be as fucked as tv. We can't let that happen

  • I don't want a centralized media either, but that's what Copps is unwittingly proposing here, contrary to his own belief. De-regulation would be best. If everything is so homogenized and "controlled" and anathema to the public, they'll vote with their dollars yet again and the media giants won't stay in business. I personally think Ted Turner is a scumbag and avoid listening/watching/purchasing anything he's involved, so he looses money that way. Get it?

  • Copps is fully aware of the arguments & history since the passing of the Telecommunications Act of '96 substantiates his claims, which saw further media consolidation run directly coextensive to new deregulations.

The public owns the airwaves--atleast in theory--& simply leases them to licensed for-profit institutions, while the role of regulators is simply to protect the commons for those that fund it.

  • America is a joke, wouldn't live in it if y'paid me

  • I think the joke is on you. America is very far from a joke. There may be elements of America that are highly problematic, but many countries have less than perfect systems. There is a very wide demographic of persons in America and this gives America a unique position.

  • @vidar808 Crap. On what you base your opinion? Where did you pick that line? From media or from experience?

  • @Htogrom I think we do an injustice to the complexity of issues by turning them black and white. Increasingly we hear the words liberal and conservative used to categorize people and ideas. It can become a bias that leads us from penetrating into other perspectives. People are complex and have many aspects that can arise in one way or another. Politicians can be fiscally conservative while at the same time pushing social liberalism or vice versa.

  • @vidar808 We have the Creator in America

  • @vidar808 And you also have the most divine constitution ever conceived by human intelligence, that is something to be proud of.

  • @YUG74

Well, we wouldn't want you if you were here just for a handout.

We have plenty of lazy lay-abouts as it is.

  • @YUG74 A salutary joke, might I qualify.

  • @YUG74 America is not a joke, they have an awesome constitution. The problem is that they do not follow their constitution but at least they have something to fall back to when the shit hits the fan. The rest of the world does not have such a constitution so when our economies collapse, we will be lost. And another thing America has going for it is Ron Paul, the restorer of the constitution.

  • @YUG74

I live there, and I agree with you 110%.

It's unfortunately an incredibly sick joke, at that..

George Orwell is now astrally giving us the 'I warned you people, but you didn't listen to me!" bit, I'd bet you...

    *Sigh*

  • @YUG74 you are spot on...wish i could get the fuck out of here now.

  • @YUG74 The world is a joke mate, its all the same, regardless of where you are on the face of the planet

  • NBC is working to buy Comcast and NBC is owned by General Electric. The CEO of General Electric is Jeffrey R. Immelt who is the public representative of the Federal Reserve Bank.

  • Fascism - Corporatism.... same thing.

  • Follow BigBrotherish on Twitter. Their agenda becomes blatantly obvious...

  • Yet another another example of Conservatives masquerading as crusaders for freedom when in fact their only interest is in serving big corporations. Notice how the overwhelming majority of citizens were opposed to this measure, but the measure passed anyway-- American "democracy" in action.

  • @profd65 You've got the story all wrong. The story is actually MUCH MUCH bigger than you realize, with each party playing their part quite well. This is just one of hundreds of laws being changed through a propoganda play that repels the mind. The only way to understand it is to first become a political atheist. Left and Right each played their parts to serve the wishes of a dominant third.

  • @profd65 You're right about the way Americans have become enamored of corportism, the very thing that is doing our founding concept of constitutional Republicanism in, these days. Am. was not founded as a "democracy" = socialism=mob rule=oligarchy=etc...=fascism,ultimately. That no matter how many Am. oppose any measure or proposed legislation that gets passed nevertheless, is an indication that not even "democracy" is working here. People don't seem to want to know what IS operative.

  • the revolution will not be televised

  • the news says a conspiracy nut made this video...lol

  • or better yet to see what i really mean move your cursor yourself to 1:36 and for some strange reason it actuall shows that one frame where she looks ABSOLUTLEY PSYCHOTIC

  • ya it looks like a evil robot or something underneath that skin....

  • as soon as it hits 1:36 right at the very fourth of a second pause and tell me thats not a psycho

  • We have this time to learn what is really going on, soon the internet will be policed and they will try to take away this freedom. Stop it at all costs...

  • anyone know the name of the documentary this clip is from

  • The name of the documentary is "George Orwell Rolls in his Grave".

  • Fuck the NWO!!!

  • That's a psychotic expression on that womans face if i;ve ever seen one No doubt about it look at her face.

  • You got it!

  • Her eyes are very shifty and it's almost as if she is in a trance

  • Problem is that america has lost his free market and the corporations now don't give a damn about the consumer. I would want to see the government's and corportation owners faces if suddenly ALL of USA workers stopped: Working, buying stuff and paying taxes

  • Leaning 1 way or another is irrelevant. This is called the Hegelian dialectic. The owners of media & gov't give you 2 choices. They encourage U 2 fight it out until they come in & scoop up what remains. Ideologues are pawns of the elite. They just don't know it. The banks that own the Fed also own Congress, the White House, & Supreme Court. And the Conservative & Labour Party, #10 Downing St. Who do U think paid Iraqis 2 relocate 2 Israel in 1947? The same people that supported the new state.

  • 2:42 Anything that starts out free turns into propaganda.... public relations...... then that "free" public relations turns into dictator/ communist relations.

Reps and Dems.... different paths.... SAME DESTINATION (destined-nation)

  • A right-winger once again shows his idiocy.

  • Massive regulation of the mass communication is the end of democracy...

    HEAR HEAR!!!!!

Right to communication of our individual ideas is almost as important a right as the right to HAVE individual ideas!

Freedom's not dead, but we have to protect it!

  • Tell me, which way do you think Fox leans? And do you ever see anything even remotely truly radical on American TV? Run by liberal people? What a joke.

  • Hey ttiger5050, what era are you from? Last time I checked this wasn't 1953. And the last time I heard such foolish ignorant statements like this was from my grandmother who actually believed that the Jews were conspiring to take over the world. What horse shit. Please, for the love of all that is good and decent, read a fucking book or two about history instead of spouting off the same ol' tired racial remarks of the past. Learn before you speak.

  • Hey RedAthena1919,

You're joking right? I know people who work in Hollywood and most DID NOT vote for George Bush. I hardly think that qualifies as "unanimously" in anyone's book. The opposite is true in fact. Most voted for Edwards, Kerry or Gore. They ARE liberal in LA, trust me on this one. :)

  • Actually, they CAN touch the internet. All the backbones are owned and operated by the government, meaning, no private companies run or own them. The backbones here in America are where the internet ties into, so all they need to do is block or shutdown the backbones and "poof", no internet. They even have contingencies for blocking all communications if we were attacked by an outside country in acts of war. The internet is just one of them.

  • And this is supposed to be a Democracy.

Oh well, they can't touch the Internet. That's Anonymous's territory, they dare not tread on the toes of the Legion. Lol.

  • Comment removed

  • the media is run by the more liberal peoples. Its obvious and disgusting. there are no good questions anymore and no real reporting or investigating anymore.

  • Run by liberal people? When they were almost unanimously behind George Dipshit Bush's wars, almost never take a hard look at poverty in America, are contstantly homophobic and constant comrades in arms with the Republicans when they start their witch-hunts against the Democrats? There is only a tiny percentage of the American media that could be called "liberal", and most of that is not mainstream.

  • @ryanwitski Equal slavery for the poor and middle class isn't liberal. Media is corporate and they advance corporatocracy. Media's product they sell are the people who watch, who's minds they can mold. Those who don't watch are uninformed.. Those who watch are misinformed.

    Media = Public Relations.

With the internet, good logic, and time one can now for the first time be informed.

watch Democracy Now and ask yourself if that is what you hate or is it abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, msnbc...ext

  • If you wonder why no reporter ever asks a difficult question at the white house, why no mainstream reporter questions war policy, or brings up the obvious lies - now you know why. They are all part of the same animal. Corp owned media, no independent journalism. No oversight of criminal goverment. Nothing. Toast.

  • This clip is incredibly vague. It's hard to figure out what the point is or what they think we should be worrying about.

  • I disagree,,

    Stop the media localization and buyouts;

For example, the whole US and rest of the world was so consumed into the Swine Flu crap that 90% of people still dont know that Chrysler went bankrupt.

The control of the media is a real power behind everything.

  • Also watch... "The Century of the Self - Episode 1 (1/6)" Edward Bernays was Sigmund Freuds nephew and our government dug in......

  • Look up and watch the whole thing..... "George Orwell rolls in his grave"

    Powell was paid off.

  • I should be sorry for you, U.S. citizens, but I can't ... understand me: I'm french ...

Democracy ? Sounds like an obsolete term to me.

We've got our personal "big" brother who has not to be ashamed of China political.

Lies ... disinformation ... lobotomisation ... manipulation, and so goes the world.

  • double plus good mate, welcome my friend, welcome to the machine. you been lied to all yur life now nobody cant except it B O O H O O we did this to ourselves so good luck and good hunting

  • LMAO and cry at the same time. you are spot on man. I have the entire documentary on my page if you want to see it. Think about this though. If the Whole board on the FCC said no to this, why did it still go through?

  • Those ladies really nailed it that were protesting. End of our 'democracy' alright.

  • This why if you do not want to be a deluded lemming of the media elite you must SHUT THEM OFF - stop watching the corporate news. Fox, CNN, all of them, turn them off now. They are lie in unison. They are killing this country and your last brain cells. Start thinking for yourself.

  • i agree, carlin and powers all the way. id like to also throw in the director guy from true romance that made the movie " going home in a bodybag"..

  • Just throw your tv away. We don't neet that brain rotting device anyway. I'm gonna go shoot mine right now with my 12 guage! Should be sweet. Maybe I'll videotape it and post it on you-tube!

  • What a laugh!! I feel sorry for the simpleton who would rely on what the mass media (print, radio, TV and especially the internet) spouts as truth. Learn the facts...think for yourselves.

  • Congres is siting in corporet pockets all of them. Rep and Dem

  • Unfortunately, this is sooo true! When i watch CNN or MSNBC I start wishing Gearge Bush would die. When I start watching Fox News, i find myself wishing Obama would die...OMG WHAT LITTLE CONTROL I HAVE OVER MY OWN MIND!!!

  • The entire documetary "Orwell Rolls in his Grave" can usually be found on Google Video or YouTube.

    Be sure to watch it.

    It's very good.

    .

  • then what might you suggest to fix this problem?

  • scary if anyone ever tried to take my freedoms away like that i would rebel

  • They take your freedoms away bit by bit and you never ralize it!

  • and those elite powers who can buy, build, and own the channels of communication exersize their "rights" in a way the plebs are incapable of, that is, by blood and by steel.

  • I said "the massive regulation of the mass communication is the end of democracy".

  • i cant believe all of these fictitious novels will become a reality over the coming years, for instance 1984 and 2001: a space odyssey. if anything, truth is stranger than fiction.

  • the thing is, in these books, the ideas are presented along a dividing line. Take the big bad wolf. It was bad that the wolf ate the pigs, bad that the pigs made shitty houses. and brick was best. thats the idea. The message: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. But no one cares if the wolf is starvin, or pig 3 took ALL the bricks. My point is in life these ideas wont jump out at us. So no, life wont be like 1984. We wont be wearin overalls. But big brother is still watching us

  • Obvious beyond all this is the allowing of big money to pay off politicians via campaign donations, who then push this and other bad things through, right over all commons, legitimacy and fairness. Totalitarianism by any false cover of ideology is totalitarianism, and in the end it creates its own downfall. So the economy hits a wall when we allow this cash from Wall Street firms run with ENRON methods to influence the very regulators and regulation designed to stop them.

  • Council on Foreign Relations.

  • Its a Catch-22

  • frenchstudentA: Its a Catch-22

    LOL best comment by far!

  • Is Orwell conservative or liberal? His works seem to oppose the USSR and socialism. However, Wikipedia and other sites claim him to be left winged. Someone explain this man to me?

  • Orwell was most certainly left wing and supported socialism. 1984 criticized what would happen under an extremist socialist government and under extreme communism. even supported socialsim, but showed the horrifying effects of socialism under a totalitarian government

  • Haha. You tell em, Zack. Orwell even fought against the fascists in the Spanish Civil War, siding with the socialists. He once said that "Like Christianity, the worst example of Socialism is in its adherents."

  • They are human beings - selfish and power hungry. What would you expect to happen when you give one party the complete power and they cannot be replaced - despotism.

  • Whether left winged or right winged, he certainly made a great argument against socialism.

  • socialism, or (so-called) socialISTs?

  • No I think that 1984 is a real pro socialism/communism book. In 1984 Orwell mix fascism and stalinism (Orwell is most a Trotskyst) to warn against this (when u look 1984 is very similar to the "Khmers rouges"). In 1984 is a line is writen that Ingsoc calles themself socialism but that it is the total opposit to it. You can say that Orwell is Goldstein ;)

  • Thats what i said. I said he supported socialism, but used 1984 to show how under a fascist government, socialism would turn into a dictatorship of fear and censorship, and in case you didnt know INGSOC=ENGlish SOCialism

  • Ok sorry than I missunderstand you... its only so I don't like when people say that he was an anticommunist/socialist just because people shwo this under the wrong context or use his work for propagada (the Animal Farm animated movie was made by CIA I read on wiki)

Yes I know INGSOC=ENGlish SOCialism and Eurasia is Neobolshewism

  • You're silly: Animal Farm was blatantly anti-Stalinist. Don't waste your time butchering the message. Orwell was a Socialist the way Darwin was an Atheist: They envisioned impossible things and knew better. But you're right: The childrens' cartoon of Animal Farm was a joke without a punchline. What a mess!

  • Yes it was anti-Stalinist. But Stalinism isn't Communism/Socialism.

    Orwell was Socialist.

  • And yet, Orwell penned the greatest literary warning against surrendering individualism to totalitarian states the world has ever seen.

  • "I read on wiki". LOL That is all anyone needs to know about the validity or depth of your opinion.

  • Why do we have to turn everything into this shallow, sentimental and media conditioned: liberal / conservative. Instead maybe actually listening to peoples words and understanding their arguments from a non-sentimental vantage point! People are often conservative in some areas (such as fiscally, socially, politically, etc) and liberal in others.

  • read 'homage to catalonia'. he fought alongside the communists and anarchists against the fascists. he was all for socialism, but in 1984 and animal farm he gave examples of what happens when socialism becomes totalitarianism

  • As it always does. Believe me I lived under socialism and communism till the age of 20. People that have not experienced it should stay quiet as they have no idea what they are talking about - they feel smart by reading books - no first hand knowledge whatsoever.

  • @tdk0709 Read the book

  • "It looked like a normal fair and balanced debate."

thats what you where missing :)

Copps talked about giving up the barrier to protect small television stations from beeing bought by the big ones, just as it happend with radio stations, and he strongly opposed this.

Abernathy on the other hand says its a bad thing the government can "stear consumers towards other programming" by "regulating media ownership".

fact is these regulation of course existed only to work against monopoly

  • props to copps!

  • The measure passed simply because the president gets to choose who to hire for the FCC commission. You had a republican president and a republican controlled congress. This is what you get.

I'm not saying the democrats are any better (thought they probably are). It simply shows what happens when a party has so much control over your political system - the people BEHIND that party, the ones that funded it, get what they want.

  • The same financiers back the dems, I'm sorry to say. They always get what they want, and when one comes who will not be corrupted, that person is removed.

  • What do you think the proposed solution is then? If a person is removed under your theory they are replaced with another with the same backing.

It is complicated I know, and I would guess your answer is to regulate candidate backing by corporations, but how do you do that? This system is designed to make that impossible.

  • I wish I had an answer.

  • "the real news" on youtube

  • Alot of well meaning, "educated" people like to stay informed by listening to Democracy Now. But, follow the money trail & one finds that even THAT show is ultimately funded by Rockefeller. Sure.... That show reels ppl in by being truthful SOMETIMES; even Hitler knew to do that. But they won't TOUCH 911 Truth for example.

    Go to:

    infowarsDOTcom

    RestoretherepublicDOTcom

    911weknowDOTcom Great internet radio station

wtprnDOTcom ( WeThe People Radio Network). Lighter fare: freedomtour08DOTcom

  • The Rhetoric of No is a terrific book. A compilation of authors who were watching and questioning and warning the public. The guy mentioned the 70's and this was a time when media were leaning towards becoming the ultimate media giants.I do question the amount of antennaes standing upright in our fields & most think it's so planes won't hit anything, why are they hovering over small towns in wee hours Why do jets spray & then there are fierce winds & flooding This is my window to xpress & to ?

  • while u americans are fighting wars in other countries your real enemy is destroying u from the inside , same thing happened in my country , there was war and everybody was focused on it while political and financial elite occupied media , police , justice system , banks etc so now they are doing whatever they want when they want it

maybe someday people will stand up and fight instead of whining

  • you are painfully right the world is splitting into superpowers soon 1984 will become a reality

  • So this was 5 years ago. Look at what has transpired. Now they are even in discussion about regulating the internet. I guess the elite corporations aren't getting their piece of the cake. It's sad but we have no one to blame but ourselves for the loss of freedom of expression in so many of the arts, media and our lives. No one is standing up to these controllers. We let it happen.

  • Your exactly right

  • as long as america trusts the media and left and right gatekeepers like bill maher and rush limbug they will remain blissfully unaware that their nation has morphed into a fascist police state , we were all bred for this moment

  • Copps is a dick. What he says is code for control of content instead of allowing the owners to choose what they feel is economically profitable to put on the air. He refers to talk radio as bad because it's mainly conservative. He would mandate "equal time" which would destroy it. The television media is mainly left wing. Strange how he doesn't care about "equal time" for that. It's sneaky-talk; he wants to control the content of radio by pretending that it's for the publics' own good.

  • Are you kidding? Did you understand what was said? Copps was saying the majority of public media and news in a few elitist hands is a BAD thing. You disagree? I hope you understand the inherent danger in this problem.

  • Kidding? No. Did I understand? Yes, more than you, I think. Re-read what I said before. Copps' solution is not to split up the "elitist hands," which is what he complains about and which congress can do if there's a monopoly like AT&T, it's to regulate radio programming. To the Democrats, this always means setting up equal time for any conservative talk radio. Nobody listens to lib talk radio, so the owners would cut Limbaugh, etc. to avoid dead time. Orwellian? Yes.

  • I don't really pander to partisanships; it being my opinion that they've become two sides of the same coin, giving us the illusion of balanced opposition. I do know Copps stated "strong dissent to the decision" of giving even more consolidated control of our information and, ultimately our adopted opinions, to the same few handlers that already overwhelm public resources of media in this country. Fascism begins in these waters. Copps sounds like a defender of democratic stability to me.

  • People will listen to (often grudgingly) whatever choices they are given. This is the illusion of choice that we have now, and people amazingly convince themselves, as you have shown stunningly, that it has come about by natural choice. Copp is not talking about bringing in liberal talk show hosts or some similar childish argument. He is talking about over consolidation and loss of public avenues for information distribution. Play your conservative talking points somewhere else!

  • Liberal and Conservative have no matter in the issue. You can buy into their deceptive bullshit and pick one side but they are for the most part like picking one evil for another. They ALL have corporate interests in mind at all times and the rest is poop to be fed to the public. Why do you think it is that ALL U.S. media blacks out vital stories wholesale? They do not give a shit if you're a dem. or rep. they just want us bickering about their fabricated spin and not what really matters.

  • did you see the security guard using the girls tie to remove her from the room that was unneccesary.we are losing it

  • if the politicians who voted for this are still in power then WE deserve what we get. can someone compile a list of these people??

we could bombard them with complants, and to vote them out. same with the HR1955 bill

  • is it not already happening with the internet with HR-1955 bill?

  • I saw a video on google called "Money as Debt". WOW did it open my eyes. Now I see how the whole system works and it's high time we stop playing by their rules, because we're getting screwed in the end.

  • The very fact that Colin Powell's son was appointed to as FCC chairman by Bush speaks volumes about the vision of democracy and free speech that Bush & Co have for the future.

Now Michael Powell is a trustee of the RAND corporation. read Daniel Ellsberg Book "Secrets" for some insight into RAND

  • there are 3 ppl in the world who control international media and they are controlled in turn...its a distract and conquer tactic. the war is nothing but a distraction. Iraq and Saddam are different entities. Leave the innocents alone!!!if ppl think they are at risk, they look at that and nothing else. thanks Osama for giving bush an excuse to start more shit than we need you dumb fuk

  • Osama a "dumb fuk"? He's an evil CIA trained f*cker who used Afghanistan as a battleground for a bloody (semi-proxy) war with the USSR, including importing opium to USSR, and without him Bush's War on Terror (tm) wouldn't get to grab Iraqi oil, Halliburton contracts, and make moves on Iran. "Dumb" is not the right word for bin Laden.
