Ginger came back from the house with a 1895's 45-70 STP lever gun. Jason gotten five careful blows in the head, from Hickok's revolver. Backed up into the woods and wait. Hickok carried with the lever action all the way back to the compound and contact local police.

Congratulations on Gunner. Re coyotes, be extra cautious with the pup. Here in Colorado the coyotes take small dogs regularly. My experience with my 60 lb yellow lab has taught me that even large dogs are not immune from attack. My dog will chase coyotes when seen. Twice this past year when I finally got the dog to come back (after he has totally ignored my calls not to chase) the coyote has turned the table and gone after his back side. Keep up the good work.

SO true about the needle teeth! I love it =)! Had a little white fluffball of a dog over the weekend to babysit (my sister's) and my golden didn't appreciate that ball of energy, very funny to watch! Love the name Gunny, very suitable.

I have a Golden Retriever as well. Careful, they like to bite a LOT. More than any other dog breed I've ever owned. They also require a ton of excercise or they become a bit wild. They're very easy to train, though. So, as long as you put in the effort to train him right, he should turn out to be a great dog.
