it might be just me.. but isnt it better if he doesnt hold the wheel like the way he does.. in case stuff goes wrong and he needs more control ove the car?? nice driving over all.
On the MS3's, the wastegate is controlled electronically so without an AP or any other tuning software or boost controller, you can't change boost settings. Changing certain parts may see boost spikes but that's it. Oh and Cobb uses the stock "leaky" bpv on their track MS3. Seems to work just fine
lol, don't talk to me about cobb, worked with their FMIC, Short ram intake, and their new access port. I'm seriously starting to think that Cobb does not know what they are doing with the mazdaspeed3, their FMIC is built so cheap, their short ram intake LOST HP ON THE DYNO! on more than one mazdaspeed3 and their access port has yet to hit the claimed wheel hp, oh, and a couple speed3 owners have actually fried their ECU's tripping the connection for the accessport. I'm glad I found CP-E.
I will find a couple, but all you have to do is read the "warning" think on the access port. If you disturb the connection to the ECU while the access port is working, your ECU is done, and you might as well throw it away. That is why CP-E is selling their reflash to customers that mail in their ECU, it needs to be in a controlled environment and no chance of power surge or any other million things that can go wrong when using something like the accessport.
You talk about ting you really don't know, buddy. Such things like "reflashing" ECUs seems to be some kind of UFO for you, but really, no need to write your opinons as a standard. It sounds like you're a CP-E fanboy, and its stupid to say Cobb RAM LOSDT HP on DYNO.. No offense
Thanks Alex! I don't remember the times, it was I think in the 14's low (not the best one I know LOL) That day, temp was very hot. Mods are: cobb AP stage 2 (the odd version 1.00), CPE turboback and CAI. Nothing else that could make a real difference.
the MAP I got for my cobb (version 1.00) was kind of useless, much more improvement with the new maps V1.01 now ;)
Replace the BOV, I got the synapse BOV and that thing made a night and day difference, I'm boosting up to 18psi now with just the BOV replaced, and my boosting response and holding boost is so much better. I think our stock BOV are very very crappy and leak alot of boost. It was worth every cent for me.
Nope! I have lexani n3000 tires. Treadweare is much betteer than the potenza!
Use 225-40-18 instead of 215-45-18 is less expensive and you will have more choice of brand/model. As for the BOV, I have TURBOSMART dual port but yesterday I have deleted the VTA on it for a try so I'm running full RECIRC.
Yeah, I'm on there, and sometimes I surf around he Street unit forums. I'm just interested, did you feel any difference with the turbosmart? If you have a boost gauge, was their any difference their too?
well done mazda guy..

Can you mount 225/40/18's on the OEM rims/wheels?
djriceburner 3 years ago
Of course you can!
borderline666 3 years ago
Yes, but they're smaller. You can go up to 8" wheels, roll the fenders and mount 245/40R18's like I am ;)

you have link of the fried ECU? never heard that before, but you know anything is possible!

Yes I feel a difference with the BOV. it seems to hold boost longer than before. But not necessary higher. I love it tough just for the sound :)

my turbo teg would kill most MS3's and mine is stock motor on 10psi, my own tuning. watch my youtube. you'll see how a turbo teg's suppossed to run.
