  • what is the best for long range ultra high frequency or ultra low?

  • Awesome, I could see my house XD

  • No he landed in a field of leaves...

  • Of all the places you land, you land in the rocks. What the hell. LOL

  • what kind of fpv set up were u using?

  • hey, i just wanna know for reference how many miles is 1km?

  • Hi

I have got a aircraft under construction at the moment. I hope to have it done in about 3-4 weeks.

Were could I get a long range video link from like the one used in this video? :)

  • Hi Trappy,

hast du einen Kreisel auf ein Ruder / die Querachse gelegt?

    Btw: Glückwunsch zum Flug!

    Grüße

    Simon

  • I hate you. I can only reach 500 meters with my crappy 5.8GHz. gear.

  • WMG!

  • parabens otimo video ..hehhhehe

  • what battery were you using?

  • Nice job, great video! 40 years ago I was down in a valley with my transmitter and my friend took my Wind Drifter sailplane to the top of a mountain and called me on a cb radio and then tossed it off in my direction and rapidly talked me into what controls to give it, until it was closer to me and I could finally see it and safely caught it in my hand. No FPV back in those days. Fun stuff though. Keep up the distance records and do some altitude records too!

  • Ever try to fly high altitutde? :-) build a space shuttle. Just do it in open country.

  • Nice flying.. I would have to say you guys where lucky to get that type of range. Because of the altitude you took off at and there where no buildings or obstructions to block the transmitter signal. And of course the weather very nice flying weather.

    2 thumbs up. :-)

  • All I can say is: AREA 51!!!

You could fly a plane over and film what's really going on over there.

  • you control it from the car on that highway!

  • dude that is awsome but i want to now how you can fly that far with fpv my transmiter have a range about 3 km but how do you do that ?

    you are the MAN!

  • Was the touch and go in the beginning intended or were you making a joke when you said "not a proper take off..." ? Not knowing the rules of RC flight, it's hard to tell. Also, how many minutes did it take to make the entire flight? What is maximum flight time with your batteries if flying constant altitude about100 feet up? .

  • You need a FAQ page, because I'm sure a lot of people are asking the same questions.

  • What's the cost for your system (plane/video/controls/everything)? What would be the minimum cost for a basic plane witth FPV capabaility with just capabality to fly less than 3 mile range.

  • At end of video, it indicates there were 2 pilots. Does this mean, that someone in the chase car took over control with a second radio control if you lost contact with your radio cotnrol? or does it mean, someone took over your control while you took a pee break?

  • why is that video with sound on vimeo private?? :-(

  • @ifoxino because of the widespread media attention at the moment. will be back available as things return to normal.

  • @nastycop420 you it is the goverment if they wanted they could get youtube to show the video to them by force well lawful force but seriously show me the vid were the media is talking about this BTW WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT WERE DID YOU GET YOUR AIR GLIDER I WANT ONE OR IS THIS JUST SPECIAL BECAUSE ITS GOOD FRO GLIDING AND NOT FLYING

  • Hey can't you put solar panel in the top light ones that is I mean seriously put a really efficient motor and auto pilot and you got your self a lot of extra miles I say this because you fpv glider has a large wing surface but you probably already though of this right.

  • the problem is the weight

  • @ifoxino WMG Sucks!

  • Excellent work! Now, lets see you do a super high altitude flight?? Hmmm?

  • very nice how much does your fpv ele. cost? top speed of this plane etc?

  • From now capitol of FPV going to Switzerland

  • what RC radio system do you use and do you have a video on in?

  • Congratulations on the flight! Sorry to hear about the camera being cabbaged to death. :) Love love love these videos! Can't get enough! :D

  • nice flying and well done guys

  • Nice flight, congratulations.

Did the last km's and landing piloted by the ground team ?

I think a validated record should be a flight as far away as possible and come back landing at same location as take off.

  • @jackyCopter no the ground team only picked up the plane. what you are aiming at with your 2nd paragraph is not long range record but flight distance record. we will try to beat that a little later with a plane that is more efficient (yes, the Supra :) )

  • Awesome work!!!!

What was the video quality like at the end? The HD video is really nice but I would like to see some clips of the FPV feed as well.

  • @carlosthecactus video feed got lost because we pulled the battery on the GS too soon. next time we'll have it, promise. video quality was good when we pointed the antenna at the plane. there was a bit of noise visible. see my "Video System Range Test" video when I fly over the ridges, about like that.

  • Landed at rocks??? o.o

  • Supi! Leider würde Dein Musiktrack deaktiviert

  • followed the link with sound and great job on the flight, crazy distance and great timing with the music beats and video frames :)

  • gopro is waterproof and with the firware update it can be used for FPV

  • Screw WMG.

  • what batteries did you used? :O

  • GREAT WORK!!!! Congratulations!!!!

  • Ouch... Nasty place to land.

  • Great job.

  • That sucks they took your music off.......;( Nice video..

  • OMFG you guys are the best. Nice work TBS

  • Impressive and beautifully done as always, bet the sound track was good too ! Thanks ,what is next ?

  • very nice

  • using the dish antenna i see, was it a standard lawmate reciever, 2.4ghz and 500mw? i didnt think such range was possible with such low power analog broadcasting but you have shown us otherwise :)

  • @snowman3514 I think they are using a special dish that amplifies the signal extremely high. There's no way at 500 mw you can do that far. Maybe if you use chain link UHF, but impossible for 2.4 GHz at 500 mw

  • @muffdriver69 chainlink is for radio control.... trappy uses ezuhf which makes chainlink look like a child's toy

  • @muffdriver69 thats with the video fpv that is their transmitter their imersonci uhf 600mw 433mhz system might or thomas schere 30 watt uhf booster might hehe

  • Awesome as always!

  • how ? great video !

  • he was on the mountain top . hes freaking nasty!

if you have doubts id get the same system he has and try it ..

im trying . 2 miles all i got im paranoid still lol ..

    good vid thanks

  • Well done Trappy!

  • @Cjudd001 24dbi dish on the receiver

  • @nastycop420 improvisation.. 24db is very narrow. your route looked like it almost lost line of site when you went left around that ridge.

Brilliant work and keep it up.

    Clint

  • @nastycop420 can i ask a question .. the polarity of the dish 24 dbi .. you have it that way because your up in the hills .. if you were on the ground .. would you change the way the dish is? or leave it and fly? .. just curious on whats the difference on the way the dish is set .. up or down? if that makes sense.. lol

  • Your ethier following it by plane, or have repeaters or are using a satelite but your not getting 27 miles with fpv from like hobbywireless, im sorry.

  • @magicmike1122 you obviously have never tried it ;) it's possible, and I don't cheat.

  • How do u get such long range?

  • @sshukri0 he cheated
