They produced the singles that were released and this song. As a person who listened to her music for almost 20 years, I liked her so-called "pop" album, and it's a lot better than that shitty album that came out after it, "Somebody's Miracle".

The lyrics are so interesting, so Liz Phair (even though a lot of people are like, SELL OUT BLAH BLAH) - but if she'd done this to a folky tune, I don't think people would be complaining as much. It's the fact that she chose to go cookie-cutter on the production that's pissing a lot of people off. Otherwise, this song is ironic and kind of hilarious.

I was reading"1000 Rolling Stone covers"and found that on Liz Phair(absolutely unknown in Italy).

Then I read the Wiki page on her and gave a look to her songs and videos on YouTube.

I listened to [and grooved to, by the way] this song several times, and the only beats EVER so slightly rushed were the 3rd and 6th triplet beats at the end of the bridge on the return to the final verse @ 2:37

I realize now, to play it with a strict in-tempo triplet would have made it sound too ridgid. It has that required human feel to it as is.
