2008 Grand Prix GXP Magnaflow catback

I just added this to my 2005 Grand Prix GXP, Magna Flow 16726 Cat-back and the K&N cold air induction. I want from 21-22mpg to 25-26mpg. =-) love the sound...

@biggshig personally i think if you did a turbo set up, im sure there is no kits for them, so you would have to do a custom set up, i just think that would be sweet cause ive never seen it done before. But a super charger would also be awsome

I hate how some people are like o its a grand prix its gay but or you could say bonniville but if you really look they can be kick ass like the v8s i have a trans am and i still apreciate these cars

their a good car but they have bad transmissions in them (for being FWD), that's why I traded it in for an 09 G8 GT.

@elliottbradshaw that 5.3L is NOT a pontiac engine... its a Chevy engine. the last Pontiac V8 was 1981. the Iron Duke (2.5L 4 cyl was the last Pontiac engine produced), with production ending in 1993. The 3.8L (3800) is a Buick V6 which came in most Pontiacs (built from 1960-2008).

@elliottbradshaw They are all GM engines this one is just the 5.3 by gm modified to work with front drive axle. Not really a whole lot of difference same basic engine platform.

I hate magnaflow...flowmasters are way better.

Magnaflow's are straight through, Flowmasters are the same as stock but with better sound. Flowmasters are only good if you need backpressure, Magnaflows outperform and sound better.

Agreed,magnaflows and other strait through muflers are the way to go,Ii personally hate the sound of flowmasters.

Excellent sound/tone. I also have a 2008 GXP and was wondering:

When you installed the magnaflow exhaust p/n 16726 on a 2008 GXP did you have problems? What size bolt and nut should I use? There is studs on the OEM resonator side now which is different than the previous years. I wonder if there is any other differences. i.e. hanger location, bends, clearance, etc.?
