Omg, I don't give my dog a cookie everytime she does something good :O. We always speak to her in a higher voice and stroke her on the head or something like that. But she always listens so it's not needed to always give your dog cookies.

@Kaysje It depends on the dog and it's temperament. Usually when you start training your dog you reward it all the time, or most of the time. When the dog really understands the commands then you can go ahead and tell it to do multiple things before giving it a treat. Over time you can cut back on the food rewards. It really depends on the dog and the person training it though.

@Huskygurl20 you could still try to teach him, maybe start over as if he was a puppy? i taught my husky lots of tricks, so i do think they can learn, even if most people (even trainers) say they're hard to train. i didn't find it hard at all, and i have to say, for a 20 week old dog he knew a lot, good for you. i got mine at 15 weeks old and she was very independent and unsocialised with people so i didn't teach her anything during the first month, cause she would barely respond :)

Yes huskies are quite pupular in the uk. When they need 'out', like all dogs, probably bark, or in Kais case howl. Kai is walked lots of times daily so doesnt really need to tell us he wants out as he has plenty of opportunity. We also have a large garden.

Yeh and well trained dogs have to be smart to learn. Huskies are very smart dogs. Huskies are also stubborn which is why they cant be off lead when theres roads etc nearby. I certainly dont think any dog should ever be 'hit' as you said.
