A split screen is used in movies to show two different scenes at once... like two people breaking things off and going about their lives separately. As far as two wrongs make it all alright tonight, well they both wronged the other and feel regret and sadness together.

If you read the lyrics JM tells a story. Its masterfully written. As a songwriter I try to portray the same real life situations that others can connect with. This story is about a couple who broke up because it wasn't the right time. It wasn't anyone's fault. It's a classic "it's not you, it's me". Problem is he thinks about her all the time. Wants to call then does-"Don't hang up this time". Split screen=viewing 2 separate lives (like a movie). 2 wrongs=after a breakup, it's better not to talk
