Sorry ignore my previous comments, they were posted by mistake. I have an acer aspire 5740 g. It has intel core i5 2.26 ghz 4gb ram, How much can I safely overclock it to.Thanks
@skrat501 I don't know lol I was just curious. Every once in a while Battlefield 3 has some lag spikes and I thought overclocking a little might fix it
Hey there, i was wondering if you could give me some advice :] so im not sure if i have components that are even capable of overclocking, so here it is! CPU:Intel Quad core Q6600 @ 2.4GHz (stock) HD: 320GB SATA II 3.0 GB RAM: 4BG DDR2 PC6400 MOBO: EVGA NFORCE 780I 775 power: coolermaster 600watt GPU: Zotac GeForce 8800GT 512mb PCI-E and windows 7 (2case fans+ thermaltake V1fan) im not sure if my computer can handle overclocking or not, soa ny advice to speed it up is much appreciated! -thanks :D
I have a Intel core i5 2500k in a P8P67 PRO R3.1 LGA 1155 P67 ATX Intel Motherboard.
Im not sure i should overclock it but i was wondering if you have any opinion on what i could get it too. I use Hydro Series H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler Kit for cooling.
I have an AMD Phenom 2 x4 clocked at 3.2 ghz. I have an aftermarket 92mm cpu cooler. Will I be able to overclock to 4.0ghz safely and if i do, what voltage should I run the CPU at.
@FPSUsername Sadly forget it, you are running and intel graphics card not designed for gaming. It is pumped full of RAM as a scam to make it look better than what it is.
I'm guessing you have a laptop? In that case you cannot do much. Maybe sell it and put the money towards a new machine. Sorry.
awesome thanks man i got my intel celeron dual-core T3000 from 1.8 to 2.5 thanks it has made it so much better and it only runs on 30C when i have it sitting on my lap

hey dude im trying to overclock to on my p5k-e wifi motherboard with a e4500 its stock is 2.20ghz i managed 2.78ghz i think. the memory is just a non branded type i think its samsung or something not sure but im trying to get over 3ghz but everytime i try it keeps shutting down and rebooting every time. i have to remove the battery to reset the bios is there a easier way thanks :)
@mrkeith557 This is because your current settings are not stable. this could be for a number of reasons:
- Your RAM can't handle higher clock speeds as it sounds to be generic.
- Your voltages are too low (vcore vram etc..)
I recommend getting some software to see what your highest stock CPU voltages are when under 100% load, setting vcore to that and slowly increasing the fsb until it isnt stable, then either settle for that or slightly increase the voltage to the next increment
@mrkeith557 also you don't have to remove the battery of the motherboard to reset the bios, there should be an option to put everything back on auto or restore settings in the bios
@MrGamesOfficial where is this option whats it called because most of the settings is on auto like the memory etc. im running the programme cpuz the bus speed is 249mhz multiplier is x11 given me 2.78 roughly. but my core voltage is 1.432v

To anyone who knows something about this, im sorry if it lookes stupid :D
@MultiKnull Over clocking is taking the CPU GHz and maxing it out. So if you have a i5-2500K or something that supports over clocking instead of 3.3 Ghz you can go up to like 5 Ghz or something like that.
I have an i5 2500k and wanted to overclock it... I've seen that 4.5ghz is what alot of people have used. I have a gigabyte z68 mobo, what numbers do I need to change and how high?
for those that didnt know, overclocking is basicly just speeding up the rate at which your pc processes information be it for games or the internet it can be a great "addition" to a comp. Also, if you have a laptop chances are its not worth the work.
This video has really helped a lot! One question, I have just been given a imedia Packard Bell tower and i checked out the system specs. It says its 3.66Ghz which i thought its a bit steep for a standard pc or is that normal? Specs are:
Hey man , this is my first comment on your video, i have i7 2600k 3.4ghz on stock speed right? so, im planning to overclock to 4.0ghz,(dont wanna go over that) i have antec kuhler h20 620. question is, can i just use STOCK voltage for 4.0ghz speed? stock voltage is 1.3v i believe?
@MrGamesOfficial can you please explain to me what is pciex? im very new to OC'ing so thats why i dont wanna go over 4.0ghz :) thanks for the reply. appreciate it!
@MrGamesOfficial Hey i have a HP Pavilion p6341sc, the specs are like this: AMD Phenom II X4 820 2.8GHz, 8Gb DDR3 Ram, ATI Readon HD 4000 Series (can't remember exact number), Is it good for clocking?
@domeee11 Most any motherboard that your going to have a i7 2600 in is going to have excellent OCing in the bios and you prob won't have to touch the voltage.
I just built my friend a system based around i7 2600 with a asus motherboard. I set it at 4.5ghz by simply changing the clock. Temps are fine to, didn't go over 70 at full load. And I had him set up with a cool master evo 212 cooler, which is a $30 heat sink.
So yea, don't stop at 4ghz man, lol. That is a joke. You can go way over that.
Can anyone help me? I can't overclock my dual core e2140 on ga ep41-ud3l. I'm triying to bost freq. from 1.6 to 2, but my system always reboat 2 times and overclock doesn't take efect .
hey, i have a intel core i3 M370 (2 cores, hyperthreading tech so 4 virtual cores) with 8 GB of ram (DDR3 1066). if you need more info on the cpu just google it. can i overclock my CPU? thanks.
@MrGamesOfficial can i over clock a x2 555 black dual core with my asus core unlocker to be x4 it has 2 virtual cores and and regular cores do you think i can stably over clock to 4 ghz
i've got this 700mhz AMD athlon in a gateway select computer. i got this computer for free without documentation, and gateway.com doesn't seem to have too much info on their older models. this computer doesn't really have any value beyond that of entertainment, i simply want to see how far i can push it before it fails. any advice on overclocking on older computers?
I am no where near a computing expert but I just want to play some decent games on my pc, would it be risky for me to overclock my pc? Also, is overclocking reversible?
@TheSantaKruz your system is already pretty good. i'd say somewhere between 3.4 and 3.8 would be a pretty safe estimate. your cooling system for your cpu is an important consideration, experiment a little using some temperature monitoring software (nvidia offers some free software) while OCing, and compare that to normal operations. it would also be a good idea to run some stress tests, running highly resource intensive operations and once again comparing peak temps while OCing and not OCing.
@TheSantaKruz (srry this is long) if you built your computer, the specifications manual that came with your cpu should tell you the safe operating temp of your cpu, or at least the temp at which the failsafe auto-shutdown occurs. if not, then intel's website will probably be able to tell you. if while OCing your computer can keep the temperature relatively the same as normal operation, or at least considerably below the failure temp, then it's probably fine.
@MrGamesOfficial I have the same BIOS ver5015 and have a Mother board P5SD2-VM. I want to overclock my Dual Core E5700 3.0GHz to 3.4GHz. But can't find this "Jumpfree Config" in the Bios Menu? And Idea and Solution?
@legendofra i7 has turbo boost. yours is a 740QM, so it will auto overclock to 2.93Ghz WHEN you need it most.generally in gaming. if you want to overclock it then turn off turbo-boost and configure it to stay at the speed you want and your cpu is faster than my i3-380M@2.53Ghz because you have a quad core (8 threads). so you dont REALY need to OC it unless you want to play HD games, edit HD video, watch in HD and use skype in HD at the same time.( you need about 4 Ghz for that)
@MrGamesOfficial hy there i have a asu m2n-mx se plus motherboard and i can't find the core voltage can you help me??....in cpuz it shows that i have 1.520 v and i think it should be like 1.420 ....can you help me??
I overclocked my CPU and whenever I start it up, it says overclocking failed! I Googled some stuff and people said that they fixed it by turning up their DRAM voltage, but I can't find it anywhere in my mobo.. PLease help!

@MultiKnull Over clocking is taking the CPU GHz and maxing it out. So if you have a i5-2500K or something that supports over clocking instead of 3.3 Ghz you can go up to like 5 Ghz or something like that.
Curevicc 1 month ago
I have an i5 2500k and wanted to overclock it... I've seen that 4.5ghz is what alot of people have used. I have a gigabyte z68 mobo, what numbers do I need to change and how high?
tatkirulez 1 month ago
mine : 2500K @ 4.5 Ghz Voltage set on auto . and max reading using CPUID Hardware monitor never went above 1.06 V on the Vcore
stressed it on prime and intel Burn Test for 1 - 2 hrs more than once .. is that a good idea keepin voltage on auto ?

I should probably add, im new to this as well so my definition is basic and mildly informed, at best
4T2Dub0 1 month ago
for those that didnt know, overclocking is basicly just speeding up the rate at which your pc processes information be it for games or the internet it can be a great "addition" to a comp. Also, if you have a laptop chances are its not worth the work.

Intel Duel Core
Nvidia Geforce GT 540 graphics card
1GB Ram (will be upgrading to 2GB or 4GB)
200GB hardrive
Thanks, i have subscribed :)

HtxVestergaard 3 weeks ago
@HtxVestergaard anything is good for overclocking, just as long as it supports it and you have a proper cooler.
vgamesx1 2 weeks ago
@domeee11 Most any motherboard that your going to have a i7 2600 in is going to have excellent OCing in the bios and you prob won't have to touch the voltage.
I just built my friend a system based around i7 2600 with a asus motherboard. I set it at 4.5ghz by simply changing the clock. Temps are fine to, didn't go over 70 at full load. And I had him set up with a cool master evo 212 cooler, which is a $30 heat sink.
So yea, don't stop at 4ghz man, lol. That is a joke. You can go way over that.

Can I OC my CPU of Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.20ghz
My PSU is a Cooler Master Silent Pro 850W power supply,
my GPU is a Radeon 6970.
What can I OC my CPU to without danger if any at all?
Help is VERY much appreciated.
TheSantaKruz 1 month ago
@TheSantaKruz your system is already pretty good. i'd say somewhere between 3.4 and 3.8 would be a pretty safe estimate. your cooling system for your cpu is an important consideration, experiment a little using some temperature monitoring software (nvidia offers some free software) while OCing, and compare that to normal operations. it would also be a good idea to run some stress tests, running highly resource intensive operations and once again comparing peak temps while OCing and not OCing.
EZtrollin 1 month ago
@TheSantaKruz (srry this is long) if you built your computer, the specifications manual that came with your cpu should tell you the safe operating temp of your cpu, or at least the temp at which the failsafe auto-shutdown occurs. if not, then intel's website will probably be able to tell you. if while OCing your computer can keep the temperature relatively the same as normal operation, or at least considerably below the failure temp, then it's probably fine.

TisVENOM 1 month ago
@legendofra Why would you want to overclock that?
TheySeeMeTrollinVVR 1 month ago
@legendofra i7 has turbo boost. yours is a 740QM, so it will auto overclock to 2.93Ghz WHEN you need it most.generally in gaming. if you want to overclock it then turn off turbo-boost and configure it to stay at the speed you want and your cpu is faster than my i3-380M@2.53Ghz because you have a quad core (8 threads). so you dont REALY need to OC it unless you want to play HD games, edit HD video, watch in HD and use skype in HD at the same time.( you need about 4 Ghz for that)
