  • what shaped crimpper is this?

  • I'm new to decorating, so I feel a bit silly asking this, but what type of medium is covering the cake? It's not icing, but what is it?

  • @TaPetiteSoeur

I think you're talking about fondant. Fondant is a sugary, fabric-consistency, edible dough. It's used to cover cakes and give it a smooth surface to work on. You can make your own at home too. Just search fondant recipes online. It's a fabulous substitute for regular icing.

  • @TaPetiteSoeur fondant x

  • That was outstanding! I learned so much from this video. The cake is so dainty. Thank you.

  • oh my god.

  • what is sugar paste, is it gumpaste or fondant?

  • is fondant

  • @dinzyangel Icydragon is wrong, Sugar paste is the older more traditional name for Gumpaste. But she mentions marzipan (an almond paste product) in the video, i believe that she covered the cake in Marzipan and not fondant as well. The flowers are made from Gumpaste.
