  • Nice clip!

I prefer to do these things by myself as well so i'll use clamps!..

  • Dude use pvc instead of papers

  • Also, you should check out my video the dual projector one, i built one as well and works VERY good

  • I had the Optoma HD66 also, have a 140" screen, upgraded to the HD180, 1080p... looks a lot better, you would be surprised

  • where did you get the fabric for the screen and the name of it

you can send me a e-mail @slabrecq@yahoo.com thank you

  • looks like about at least a $400 job.

  • Sony PS3 are better than anything else (including Microsoft Xbox 360), just saying.

  • Great job.... for the little amount you spent the overall product is amazing...

  • one suggestion on hiding the wires is using conduit piping used for construction... you can spray it with a mat black finish

  • PS3 = 1080p ever since it was released. Just saying.

  • @CalebMush this is a true statement. i never said it was not. the xbox 360 has also been able to output 1080p since release...

  • @MRstageManager2000 Yea, we have a new 360, I wish I had a PS3 though.

  • @MRstageManager2000 did you just say that 720p is the same bang for your buck at 1080p, ummmmmm not even close.... HUGE difference

  • @FilmandTVMaker Please listen to what I said, I said that since my video games on my xbox 360 only produce images in 720p, there is no use upscaling them to 1080p for the price difference. That is the same as buying an HDTV and displaying SDTV images on it. The tv upgrade was worthless. I get the same amount of bang for my buck with a 720p projector displaying 720p images as I would a 1080p projector because its still only displaying a native 720p image. Thats called wasting money.

  • @CalebMush Doesn't mean the games aren't in 720p, dumbass fanboy.

  • You sound like McLOVIN (same guy from the poster in the background) lol

  • @rogershomework yeah youre not the first to say that.. i have that poster cuz someone thought the same and bought it for me

  • how do you like the harmony 650? i have it but havent got around to opening it up yet..thinking about selling it and upgrading to the 1100

  • @blazinxtreme i think everything about it is great! the only thing i wish it had was support for more devices. it can only hold 5 devices programmed. the software is the same for all their remotes though so dont pick one of them out for that reason. just do based on screen or not and number of devices

  • i like your projector mount lights

  • scorpio, and yeah its just paused on avatar.. also, there is nothing near the paper that will ignite it, so thats not really an issue the paper is not noticeable upon first glance which is what I wanted and I dont need anything more.

  • Ah! Avatar! Just saw your other vid! SO COOL! Having your own personal theater is AMAAAZINGGGGG & FUNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!! GREAT for family and friends!!!!!!

  • Maybe, use some kind of glossy, white paint and let the pieces dry for a few days?

  • You seem like a Sagitarrius. Thanks for the rope light tip! What is that Outerspace theme you have on there? I like it! What is it and where can I get it? Also, doesn't the use of paper sound like a fire hazard to you? How about taken those pieces down and painting them instead of using paper? Or, would painting them be an iffy choice, as well?

  • what about the rainbow effect?!!

  • thanks, for the cables try d line cable trunking, its the best option if u cant hide them behind walls, i got them from website in uk for £7 incl postage for 3 metres, sure you could find some in us for same price.

  • thanks, for the cables from the projector, try d line cable trunking, its relatively cheap and looks great if u cant hide the cables behind the walls

  • thanks

  • how u connect the Lutron Maestro 600IR from the wall outlet or something else?

  • how u connect the Lutron Maestro 600IR from the wall outlet or something else?

  • @robdagreat88 i had an old outdoor extension cord, just one of those orange ones, that i had cut up from some other projects and i simply cut that to the length i needed to get from the outlet to the maestro 600, then i put a male plug on the end, i got it from lowes for around 3 bucks, and then i hooked the light switch up to that cable just as you would if it were going in a wall. then for the output of the switch i had the other end of the cord with the female plug for the lights to plug into

  • Hey man, GREAT VIDEO, GREAT PROJECT, Question, some net places sell, Blackout cloth with a white on white both sides, and others sell Black back and White front. What did you use?? Thanks

  • @Geo99 thanks man! i used blackout cloth that is white on both sides. however the way it is made makes one side a little less "cloth like" and a little more rubbery.. so i believe I put the cloth side as the one to show the image on. in my personal opinion I feel that the clothier side looked more sharp and would reflect the light better than the rubbery side. but I didnt test both ways. If you have the time I would say test both sides and see which is better. and let me know which works best

  • I built mine by myself just make sure you do all the centers first.I used 2x2 wood for the frame.i like the evenness of your lighting....I also enjoy " This looks like a movie theater " comments! I paid a lot less ...so it can be done.Great job explaining how-to and super work! (projection is the wave of the future)

  • I could be mistaken, but I believe the Xbox 360 will output 1080p with an HDMI cable right?

  • @tmaschm yes, you are correct, however I have mine set to output in 720p because that is the maximum resolution my projector can display. If I set the xbox to output in 1080p then my projector would just have to do more work by downscaling the image to 720. i just felt it would be better to cut out the extra step.

  • Looks awesome. Nice job.

  • looks ghetto fattrablous

  • nice job

  • you did a very nice job on the screen. I also like the rope lighting job that you did. I used Blackout cloth for my screen, and the picture looks great. just one suggestion though: I found these wire covers at my local hardware store. they look great and they were extremely cheap. if you can locate some nice wire coverings it would add a great deal of aesthetics to your setup

  • @weeksusaf thank you! yeah i love the way the whole project turned out. all my friends want to move into my basement. I had the cable management, but it didnt look the way i wanted it to.. maybe one day I will get wire coverings, but the problem is that I have 8 wires up there, some of which are thick.. once I move into my own house I will in-wall wire everything and make is all perfect! glad to see that other people are using the blackout cloth screens and loving them!
