Fabulous, I still have the album on vinyl at my parents' house. It reminds me of one of the most exciting times in my life when I was finishing school and the university admissions letters had come and it was relax, unwind and party time! A friend threw a party on being admitted to uni and I gave him a copy of Hysteria as a present!

I seem to remember that the way the previous song on the album led into the intro for this was really cool. Can't believe this was over 20 years ago.

High n Dry was their best album IMHO, but Hysteria was simply a perfect execution of that type of music. Pete Willis>Phil Collen for me (personally I thought Pyromania sucked), but damned if Hysteria wasn't a great record.

Anybody ever hear of the albums High 'N' Dry and Pyromania? Albums when Def Leppard kicked serious ass. Hysteria is good, but not even close to those 2 epic albums. Anything after Hysteria isn't worth talking about.

@mbenzsl2000 On Through the Night had its moments, especially Wasted and Rock Brigade. I don't think it is as solid all the way through as High 'N' Dry or Pyromania. Kind of reminds me of Dokken. 1st album had a few songs (Breaking the Chains and Paris is Burning) but then they came up with an awesome album with Tooth and Nail.

LOVE this song.

Definitely one of their best but sadly, this one kinda got pushed aside for other tunes/videos from this album.

Went to see this show at Starplex Amphitheater in Dallas hoping to score some tickets once we got there.

NONE to be found.

Drank beers in the parking lot and kinda heard the show... roar of the crowd......on the other side of that damn wall.

I know we missed a helluva show :(

It really sucks to think that the 80's produced--by FAR--some of the best music the world has ever known. After grunge killed the "hair bands", the groups of today get lucky every now-n-then...but no group of today can claim to have EVERY song on their CD be "radio-friendly". Def Lep did it with Hysteria and Scorps did it with Savage Amusement. Ahh...good times.

@darthfexx Yes, adrenalize is very good too, but i dont think it has enough to beat histeria.

For me, histeria has 11 amazing songs on 12, and adrenalize has 8 very good songs ( less powerfull than histeria ) on 10.

My best of histeria is "gods of war", the one from adrenalize that i can compare to is "white lightning"

but the first one has better arrangements and sound effects.

But hey !, def leppard still rocks my friend ! :)

the world tour for hysteria says it all. 3 years on the road. One of the biggest world tours.

Def leppard has, for me, the best rock albums (until adrenalize) , but i thing hysteria blows them all out of the water. ;)

@sjmunoz That is probably questionable, but an awesome argument. I have always had it in my top 3 rock albums, but it is definitely Def Leppards' best work. Thats because it was the first album with drummer's disability... or rather, a-bility. If you notice, hysteria is when Def Leppards' sound, especially drums, totally took off, surpassing every Def Leppard sound, and much more.
