  • Don't worry, Captian Hammer will save us.

  • 3:30 Always makes me cry :'(

  • The story line of the whole show is depicted through the evolution of the music. You go from such cute, sweet songs like Freeze Ray, then through Dr. Horrible's epic sort-of-almost downspiral into darker things, to this :( Such a mood change. I never saw Penny's death coming.

  • Such a nice song. I actually really like it and how it ends. It's nicely intense.

  • This song always makes me cry.

  • you spelled Neil wrong lol

  • this movie makes me lol and cry. all hale Doctor Horrinle Sing Along Blog

  • I think I'm going to cry. Nope 1:21 just did it for me. I'm in tears.

  • This song gives me freakin' goosebumps! It's so amazing, but it always makes me feel like my heart is dropping. It's just a masterpiece(hell, the whole movie is a masterpiece)!

  • I love this show, I love this song, I love all of your fantastic comments, I love all the thumbs up. IM IN LOVE WITH THE REIGN OF TERROR.

  • Who doesnt cry when they listen to the lyrics?? Now that Penny's gone, there's nothing keeping him from going completely insaine anymore. But now that penny is gone, he's in the ELE. so the line "Here lies everything The world I wanted at my feet" Means "All i wanted was Penny. But she's gone, so i can be evil.....But i want penny"

    So damn sad.

  • and you think justice has a voice and we all have a choice... so beautifull yet sad...

  • The final verse is my favorite part :)

  • extremely hauntingly beautiful

  • the whole ghost of Penny or whatever was creeppyyy aass!

  • @shutupnavi99 what ghost?

  • @madlibsluver I think he/she means 'Everything you wanted'

  • Ugh the ending is soooo sad!!! :'(

  • I really didn't expect to be so depressed at the end!

  • 0 people disapprove Dr. Horrible's reign of terror.

  • 0 dislikes :D

    I so love this song

  • The ending was so sad! This movie was hilarious but the ending was so sad.

  • "...A Thing" = i feel a little dead inside

  • fucking love this stuff <3

  • I think this needs a sequel

  • @batmanhicks93 Thay're planning one. :D So excited

  • Songs like this give me a sad... but in a good way.

  • This has a Sweeney Todd quality to it. I love this series.

  • Everything Billy ever wanted cost him a pretty Penny.

  • @mizzuzspock *sniffles* that is such a good way of putting it, it's really witty, and really sad, good job friend *high fives you*

  • @mizzuzspock that should be the slogan for this movie!

  • This is so beautiful up to the party... also, Dead Bowie & Fake Thomas Jefferson ftw.

  • So much to swallow in one 45 minute web show.

  • Whenever I listen to this, I always think that's Penny singing "Everything you ever", anyone agree?

  • @STheFantasticRepoFan any dolt with half a brain can hear penny's voice in it.

  • @Jarbizu800 Alright, I just wasn't certain.

  • @spotcat87 i mean that because viciousmeow said make the whole world Neil and the actors name is Neil, and i think it's more serious too, im just saying that viciousmeow saying that was his joke, not the songs.

  • This is so heartbreaking.

  • To make the whole world NEIL!

  • @viciousmeow

Did you think about what that means? Do you think his plan is to change everyone's name to "Neil" or something?

  • @ADSFew its a joke, at least i hope so lol, plus the guy who plays dr. horrible is Neil Patrick Harris so yea haha

  • @ivysshadow Just because of who it is should not make it mean one thing or another. Neil is a great comedian, but I personally believe that this song is more serious than not. Just remember, even the joker can have a frown.

  • may i point out that there are 0 dislikes

    win

  • @marksadweeb not anymore

  • Like i want 2:27 on of the song instramental it could have a nice loop i want to mess with it so bad!

  • I want this in instramental.

  • I love this song. Every time I listen to it I feel like I'm gonna cry. It's just so sad, even when he's walking around in this crazy mad scientist getup and there's all the crazy villains from the Evil League of Evil.

  • "and I wont feeeel (cut music, back to his old hide out) a thing" it's like you understand the whole story then in the last 2 seconds they pull the rug out from under you. was any of it real? did he just make the whole story up? did he create the song before he became super evil? is he schizophrenic? its great

  • @pkingsleyisback It's real. When he said "a thing" they really wanted to leave an impact on everyone on how lonely it sounded. Billy started hiding behind Dr. Horrible to hide his feelings of sadness, and would only come out when he knew he was alone. Poor man was broken apart...

Anyways, to leave this on a happy note, they're making a sequel! :D

  • i love the ending because of how sad it is

  • I also really like how Captain Hammer pulled the trigger without a second thought whereas Dr. Horrible couldn't actually bring himself to kill someone. Reveals a lot about the characters and their true souls. Beautiful story indeed.

  • I actually cried at the end of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog...

  • "It's okay.... it's okay. Captain Hammer will save us."

  • i fricken love this song!!!

  • 2:28. Shudder.

  • the music kills my soul...

    creeeeeepy!

    still love it

  • His face during this part is heartbreaking

  • @InspectorKaramazov I agree :( Good ending...just so sad :(

  • very beautiful ending

  • This may sound wierd, but I remind myself of Dr. Horrible SO freaking much. It's really creepy.

  • I like how this musical shows that a happy ending can't be ensured by success, heroism, or even a positive attitude. Dr. Horrible got the world he always wanted, but he lost Penny, the girl he loved, so he's unhappy. Captain Hammer was a "hero," but he wound up needing a shrink at the end. Penny's perpetual optimism didn't save her from leading a (from what I understood in the musical) sad life, dating a douchebag, and dying tragically. Tragic endings are possible for everyone.

  • I hears ya mak, Dr. Horrible's intent was in the right. The path leading to it wasn't. Capt. Hammer had not the right intent but his actions were for the benefit of society. Tis a tragedy indeed.

  • @yahuaa You said exactly what I thought about those characters. Hammer did the right thing, but for the wrong reasons, Horrible did the wrong thing but for the right reasons.

  • @EmperorofCartoons good story eh? Tyas for the music host ^^

  • @EmperorofCartoons Not to mention that he actually cared about Penny, whereas Hammer saw her as just another girlfriend to have sex with once or twice and then toss aside...and also, it's sad...Doctor Horrible didn't really kill Penny, but everyone saw it as his doing, and because of that he got into the Evil League of Evil. Technically, Hammer killed her, though, when you think about it.

  • I like how the original theme for Dr. Horrible gets worked in around the end and is followed by badass synth/keyboard stuff.

  • Joss Whedon You Wrote My Life... if only i was a singing space cowboy fighting vampires and corporations like the dollhouse all while trying to get penny. oh and toy story apparently.

  • I cried at the end, as per most Joss Whedon productions.

I <3 this song so much... I love the whole 'hero' slipping into darkness. You really see it when he changes his costume to such darker colors.

I like the Evil League of Evil btw.

  • Dr. Horrible, you can prescribe horror for the world, but you can't cure your own broken heart!

    D=

  • @christiangoth84 is that the new catch phrase? (quoting moist)

  • @christiangoth84 Well, of course. He just holds a doctorate, doesn't make him a physician. :P

  • my group did this live this weekend. at our last performance, the guy playing Billy started to tear up during the song. it was beautiful.

    <3 this song

  • love it @ 2:28

  • agreed! Totally haunting...

  • Hah, love the way he says "A Thing" at the end

  • Oh god, the ending gives me MAJOR SHIVERS.

  • @sincerexhanabira *salutes* Good evening Major Shivers sir!

  • Haunting and beautiful.
