  • wtf was that wrench made of granite

  • hands down best instructional video for dissassembly/reassembly of a buffer tube. thank you cheaperthandirtvideo

  • 40 inch pounds on the castle nut you gotta be kidding right? thats like mayonnaise jar lid hand tight... you actually mean 40 foot lbs i do believe..

  • @GrizzlyGunsmith99 i torque all my mayo to at least 20lbs, pal.

  • to bad i cant find a "special wrench" to tighten the castle nut anywhere damnit! now i gotta go to my local gun stored tomorrow to have them tighten this. GAY!

  • i got one for you, how do you remove the front take down pin, the rear is easy, but i want to change the forward pin, how do i get the de-tint down?

  • THANKS for the info !!! I have a castle nut that I can NOT remove... I TRied the armorer's wrench then a pair of channel locks to no avail !!! Any suggestions ?

  • @mrmezmureyz I used a rubber mallet to " pop " it free after of course making sure the Tapco 3 position castle nut tool was straight and lined up perfectly in the slots of the castle nut. Be sure you apply pressure to the tool holding firmly before using the mallet to pop it free. Also, be sure you apply the pressure counter clockwise to remove otherwise you will be further tightening the castle nut. One other thing, is some M4geries out there used loctite on their thread - so heat first...

  • Excellent video. Thanks for the info.

  • very helpful video thanks

  • So easy a caveman can do it

  • Great Video!

  • does it matter if i get different brand for the parts? because im planning to put together a magpul moe stock in fde and i already finished the rest of the lower besides the stock

  • @joeyyyXD No, just make sure you know whether your buffer tube is mil spec or commercial diameter so you know which stock to buy.

  • Do you recommend staking the castle nut?

  • @thenetwerx Really comes down to personal preference. Most of us here do not stake the castle nut because we are always changing and swapping parts around. Most military and police armorers will stake the castle nut. If you do not want to stake it but want that extra level of protection you can use blue loctite.

  • Great video, very professional

  • This is a great series. It just shows how easy it is to assemble something like an AR-15. All you need are the proper tools. :)
