  • Nas sons Rakims old ass

  • 1:33 - LIKE A BAUZE

  • Rakim still looks fresh :)

  • Nas obviously did it in an honorble purpose, no one claims otherwise. But you gotta understand, Nas talks about the Ra's biography. Ra hasn't even done it himself. Ofc, that's not Okay, you think that's weird? There are actually people who do not want others to take part out of their privacy and there is nothing strange about it.

  • rakim, get off your high horse

  • i uhhh i uhhhhh i uuuuuuh...YOU WHAT?

  • Comment removed

  • RAKIM LOST COOL POINTS FOR THIS ,NAS GOT THE GLOW TEACHER.SUM DUM GOY!

  • I don't understand what it is y'all don't understand? This issue is stale, tired, tucked into bed - over!! Nas has already accepted that his method was "not on the street level" - that is to say, both come from a code of ethics and street conduct. All Nas had to do was dial up The God, it was that simple. But it's not a beef. The so-called beefs are among the asinine followers who keep bickering about stuff these brothers would laugh at, together! Even Kool Moe Dee said:" beefs are just rumors."

  • Rakim is acting like a sour bitch because he feels NaS was eulogizing his career instead of celebrating it.

  • Ra's a wrap for gud, hiphops finished its just full wiv freemasons & devilworshippers that'll do anything 4 paper cash making fiends. Neva been a fan of this immature clown, hes had sum good tracks but nas is the greatest mc eva period. Rakim's a narcotic fiend & always will b, ra needs 2 grow up & stop moaning b'cause dude aint relevant anymore no1's fiending for the god mc as they say. It's all that islam/allah/muslim poison, ra's been corrupted thinking hes a arab stupid retarded puppet sad.

  • These two have always had a difficult relationship. Nas has reached out to Ra on several occasions and nothing has come from it until recently.

Freddie Foxxx rhymed on "The King is Down":

"Sorry for the let-down but here are the facts

Eric B wanted Nas, Ra said he was "Wack"

Jesus Christ was Black, So Nas you ain't 'Gods Son' cause he won't do the track"

  • Follow the Leader

  • Rakim best ever

  • illest book has Rakim, Nas, G Rap, Kane, all the

legends writing inside of it, to preserve hiphop =

    (({ HOW. .TO. .RAP }))

amazing read and piece of history, incredible gift to give hiphop heads too...

  • @MrGOOZ3: Bro, I'm not dissing Nas; and yes - most cats list these two brothers as the Top Mc's in Hip-Hop. NY State of Mind is, to be quite candid, no better than Rakim's "Remember That" joint, or "New York ( Ya Out There) are impressive in that Rakim is able to switch between a highly stylised jazz style to a more aggressive technique. My quibble is that most young cats think NAS is best without hearing a lot of Rakim. Glad you do; like you I listen to both. But Rakim keeps pushing the bar

  • Comment removed

  • @jusakoolkid: Sorry, but if you're well-versed in Hip-Hop, then you'd know - just as Nas knows - that Rakim's skillz are untouchably dope, highly stylised, metaphorical classics of the highest degree. What happens is, cats listen to all of Nas and just bites of Rakim. Brother Nas is my age, man: I listen to everything he puts to wax. But when you hear Rakim's new shit, even his joint Buss em with canibus or The 18th letter it's Rakim - hence why GZA, KRS call him Hip-Hop's finest. Real talk.

  • CHECK OUT...

Eli G - Hold You Down

  • @CaliAhjee24: Actually, in Hip-Hop, yes he is!!!!

  • chill out with all that.. Rakim isn't GOD..

  • Comment removed

  • sorry but nas is better

  • im not black, or a muslim. but i like rakim and im not gonna post pathetic hate comments

  • if you wanna hear from Rakim, Kane, Kool-G Rap, Tribe-Called Quest, Pharoahe Monch, AZ, loads of best MCs in a BOOK

that came out with them explaining what being a real MC is all about, get the boook-called-

    ..HOW..TO..RAP .. HOW..TO..RAP .. HOW..TO..RAP

    HOW..TO..RAP .. HOW..TO..RAP .. HOW..TO..RAP

    HOW..TO..RAP .. HOW..TO..RAP .. HOW..TO..RAP

  • @Lovedalord8: Correction! It's YOU that aint on the level, bro. I am black, a proud and strong one, too. I fight for liberation every day, and saying Rakim is a coked up coconut (black on the outside white in the middle) is a balls-out lie! Rakim doesn't do coke, man! Where your brain at? He loves his heritage, knows his history, his ancestors. As for Nas, he doesn't hold a candle to Rakim's skillz and legacy.. You sound like an ill-educated bitch. Rakim is Hip-Hop. Now, bow down clown!

  • @MrJazzHOP nas does hold a candle to rakim....nas > rakim but ra is definitely a great.

  • @MrJazzHOP Nas would slaughter Rakim. He's indeed a legend but Rakim wouldn't win that.

  • @MrJazzHOP listen Rakim and Nas are the two greatest to ever do it. They are usually flip flopped on "people who know hip hop lists." on my list Nas is the greatest, Rakim the 2nd greatest. From songs like NY state of mind, to Rewind and I Gave you Power, he got songs of all sorts and is lyrically up there with no one except probably rakim. You can' diss Nas cause Nas was supposed to be the next rakim and he lived up to it, if not he past it. Dissing Nas is basically dissing Rakim

  • The comments regarding Rakim are not only erroneous, but uncool in every respect!! This issue has already been put to rest, Nas acknowledges that he should have given Rakim a heads-up, all is fine in their world - as for some of you cats talking jibberish about Rakim's religious beliefs, that's a low street-rat, bitch mentatlity. Rakim's fluidity and substance is incomparable, he's a low-key brother, he never speaks out of school. You bitches should take note. Rakim IS God.

  • @MrJazzHOP dude dont leave those stupid msgs like u r educated stupid dumbass, all im saying that ra's neva been proud of being Black/Negro he aint on nas level & neva will b neva. Look how hes talking in his interviews, dudes coked up, lost total respect 4 rakim all hes doing his moaning because he aint relevant no more & no1's fieding 4 the god as he states. I personally saw the interview wiv nas & him on mtv in 04 & this allah brainwashed asian wannabe fiend he aint got no True Black Pride.

  • @Lovedalord8 Rakim's a Five-Percenter. They believe the black man comes from Asia.

  • there are comments on YT like : Who's Rakim?? etc ----> LOOOOOL

  • Take it from a new yorker, you dont do what nas did . Fact is when he first came out most us felt he was bitin rakim anyway. His beats was fire though. Rakim may not rhyme no more but is highly regarded in any borough and a powerful voice. nas is truly a succubus that used anyone he could without one thankyou to those who got him there and helped his buzz (cormega havoc,50 AZ) YOU NEVER SEE NAS IN NEWYORK EVER ! wonder why?

  • @MrHoldis To be honest, it's the beats that make the album hot...not necessarily the lyrics.

  • rakim is the greatest story teller ever 2pac is the greatest rapper ever

  • Black mans language:

Yo yo make sure u be sit-u-ate-it. Naw I mean?

    Yo!

  • What? I understand where hes coming from about Nas not reaching out to him but anybody whos a fan of Nas knows he has nothing but respect for rakim. Nas practically bit his style of complex rhyming. I never thought Nas dissed Rakim he should be appreciative because its the highest honor a rapper can give to another.

  • @cjack1 You ain't neva lie. Simple misunderstanding. But, understandable. Rakim Allah is a serious kat! I can't recall ever seeing this kat smile. But, like he said Nas was dropping kids names his wife's name, respect me and let me know what's on yo bird, then go from there... But, yeah, Nas emulates Rakim, it ain't hard to tell.

  • @cjack1 wise words

  • @cjack1 Rakim knows it all out of respect, but i think he feels almost betrayed because he gave out information that he tried to keep hidden.

  • a book was put together with the

real masters of MCing, all contributin

to help save the reeeal techniques of

    the art form, entitled-

    ..H.;.O.;.W ...::.TO .:;...R.;.A.;.P...

    thats a real

classic of a book rite there

  • euuuuhhhh euhhhh imaaaaaa aaaaa you know aaaa yyou know like you know

  • I love Rakim the God, but Nas the kid gave you props, that's all the joint was about " props" so does the God feel funny about this? C'mon son, the kid showed you mad love.

  • Check out The God's demeanor from 01:30 to 01:33 and you can see how he really feels about that Nas situation. THE GOD.

  • Nas only has 1 good album in my opinion....thats illmatic...but it was so minblowing that off of 1 album with 9 songs on it...he still can be considered the greatest of all time as far as lyricist...but yea after illmatic he went down....not saying he went to garbage...im saying he went down

Rakim is a legend and icon in his own right go listen to I aint no joke...you will here Rakims influence on Nas

Hence pac saying"ayo nas your whole damn style is bitten" voice in back says off Rakim

  • @Primal141 Nas is the illest & always will be, rakims just bitter & jealous of Nas. Illamtic was back in the day, it seems that ur mindset is in the mid 90's b'cause Nas as evolved the art of mc'ing no1's touching Esco no1 not even rakim. Rakims finished now, hes been poisoned by all that islam/muslim foolishness islam is evil & it hates Blacks yet all these foolish artists embrace a culture that dont want them Most Blacks that turn 2 islam b'lieve there people are in asia as opposed 2 Africa:)

  • @Lovedalord8 shut the fuck up, you come across like as though you know shit about Islam

  • @noorur islam/allah is the devil & always will b, i'll always b'lieve in Jehovah. All islam/allah does is promote violence & rape, keep on praying 2 lucifer btw i dont wanna know nuffin about islam/allah nor its sickening twisted & warped teachings. Rakim's been brainwashed by all that crack & devilworshipping doctrines rakim should just retire & hang up the mic he aint even relevant at all. Hes a big tyme liar b'cause i member wen the interview was on mtv wiv him & nas dudes smok'd out fo sho.

  • @Lovedalord8 Jehovah are bullshitters!! Islam DOES NOT promote VIOLENCE or RAPE!! Europeans enslaved West Africans and raped them along in the process, and guess what, they wre CHRISTIANS!! Is that to say Christianity promotes SLAVERY and RAPE ?? You're a narrow minded piece of crap!! You carry on believing in man made bullshit!!

  • @noorur u can say wot u wanna say, islam/allah/muslims days are numbered they're finised just like rakims career. Rakim smokes 2 much herb, thats why his mindset is so poisoned & brainwashed most oreos that convert 2 islam is 2 look like they're arab & do it 4 $ allah is the devil & always will b. Im based in Sheff City & all uve got is arabs thinking they're Black how tragic & sad, Personally i b'lieve ra is ashamed 2 b Black he shaves his hair & the retard thinks his peeps are in asia dumbass.

  • @Lovedalord8 you deserve to be hung for speaking of rakim that way,

also ur an ignorant motherfucker who doesnt seem to know that islam christianity and Judaism all come from the same friggin roots and therefore all have the pretty much the same god

and ur a retard cuz u cant smoke too much herb

im based in montreal and all youve got is lots of different cultures lots of weed and people who appreciate real hip hop

    peaceee

  • @McCloak514 rakims a wrap now, hes an old skool artist nas runs new york. Islam/allah/muslims is poison & always will b, ra's been brainwashed by all that islam/allah nonsense it just goes 2 show that dis clown ass crack fiend aint proud of is roots talking about people in asia in his last weak cd stupid dumbass retarded clown. Ra's confused & he thinks people in asia care about his dumbass, he get rids of his afro & thinks his people are in asia wot a retarded dumbass Nas all day everyday JD:)

  • Hip hop is my religion, Rakim is god

  • @Primal141 it was written stillmatic gods son nigger album lost tapes all underated classics and nas>pac

  • Rakim is straight up GANGSTA.

  • Get the sand out of your vagina, Rakim. Nas did nothing but show you love.

  • No disrespect to Rakim or anything but UBR was A HOT JOINT.. real needs to recognize real

  • Yo chill. Everyone's fighting about religion and shit when this has nothing to do with religion. I'm a Muslim and a proud one. Am I going to stand here and fight with you about how my religion is not violent and how some stupid people who blows them self's up have nothing to do with the religion? No. Because your a human and you have the rights to believe in what you wanna believe. Am I going to judge you? No. Because that's GODS job not MINE.

  • lol that look on his face @ 1:31 makes him look like he is ready to fuck up Nas lol

  • rakim a G

  • THATS FIRE... CHECK THIS OUT TO IF U LOVE REAL MUSIC youtube.com/watch?v=57-cMC0YT0k&feature=mh_lolz&list=LL-5_p53lyLsG-fhWAf5vMew

  • Nas is a mediocre version of Rakim. He should of tributed an ALBUM to this man, he's basically got his game from Rakim, matter fact they should call him Rakim Jr.

  • @LovePoet213 your crazy!

  • I'm still waiting for part 2 about KRS. I don't think Nas meant nothing by it but he should have talked to Rakim. On another note I do beats. Hit up my channel and check them out. Feed back is appreciated. One.

  • @LovePoet213 dnt be hatin on rakim every rap artist thats eva been in the game respect rakim even raps great tupac

  • @LovePoet213 u stupid bastard nas is a muslim

  • @jameshatman123 nas inspires the peeps, rakim is on that islam/allah garbage. Nas is in a class all by himself, ra's neva been proud of who he is hes a dope cat but all this islam allah nonsense is just brainwashing Blacks. Personally i dont support no islam & neva eva will, many who follow that faith are just lost & confused how sad & tragic is that. Nas uplifts Blacks, rakims good but he aint on nas level. Islam dont uplift nor unify any1 at all, muslims they're evil & degrading 2 women sad.

  • @Lovedalord8 Islam can say the same thing about Christianity. When you make a comment like that, it has to be a bit more thorough.

  • @thomasbenjamin12 islam is wicked & very corrupt, it dont bring people 2gether at all. Ra's been brainwashed by that islam/allah garbage, hes neva stated hes Proud 2 B Black he shaves his head & thinks his people are in asia stupid fool. Nas is in a class all by himself, no1's touching Esco no1. Rakim's best days as a mc are b'hind him, he needs 2 stay off the booze & drugs forever. Faith in the Heavenly Father Jehovah God Foreva, all islam/allah is create division & control how tragic & sad.

  • @Lovedalord8 I'm not saying I don't disagree with you, but what are this based off of?

  • @thomasbenjamin12 ra's done, hes winning nas is in a unique world. All this islam/allah is poison, corrupt & evil hes just trynna get as many Blacks/Negroes to there sick & corrupt way of thinking it dont even view women as equal thats how disgraceful, tragic & pathetic. Hate islam/allah like poison, look at wots going on in libya & syria they claim 2 hav god please when u c them wiv guns they're just pure evil & wicked many Blacks around here in sheff are lost & confused watching 2 much evil tv

  • @Lovedalord8

Funny? About 40 percent of the slaves brought to America in chains were Muslims.

  • @IslamIstheWayforMe Converting to Islam is what got the "slaves" into America (and elsewhere) in the first place - Exodus 20:3 & Deuteronomy 28:68. Allah is nothing but a lifeless rock sitting in mecca. an idol worshipped by the Ishmaelites who think they got a part in the everlasting covenant between the Most High and the seed of Isaac. Psalms 96:5 The children of Israel need to return to the everlasting covenant that the Creator made with them, before it's too late.

  • @thomasbenjamin12 If u meant to say ROMAN Christianity, the devilish organization who gave the world Dec. 25th, good friday, easter, sunday worship & Islam, then yes I'd agree with u one hundred percent.

This is why the vatican is the head of all secular religions today. All these alleged Abrahamic religious belief systems claim to believe and do what thus saith the Most High, but the fact of the matter is they all teach doctrines contrary to the Holy commandments and they're all anti-christs.

  • @jameshatman123 Did u know all these masons worship satan in one way, shape or fashion? Islam is just 1 of many tools the elites force upon these "celebrities" to worship satan. The deal is u get fame & riches in return for ur soul. But, these fools don''t realise that true riches and power comes with keeping the commandments of the Most High contained in the Bible and believing in the Blood of the Messiah as the only way to get remission of sins. Islam will get you into the lake of fire.

  • The Original GOD MC.. Then Nas Came Later With The GOD Concept.

  • Nas didnt say nothing u cant find out on the web anyway...Rakim needs to chill with that...he put his name out there..he should be greatfull

  • Jehovah God? Thats some silly shit right there!

  • @deathdealer60546 Silly? Why is that?

  • @berryola it has no place in the conversation. Also he decries one religion for his own. That is some sill shit!

  • rakim is tha best rapper to this date listen to his lyrics and yuh imaginate he create a rhyming technique no gimmick excellent rappers such as nas used to handle rap matters so get yuh facts right fooool b4 yuh com dissing a hip hop legend i rock his shit 24/7 real niggas feel em....diss rakim yuh diss hip hop dislike rakim yuh dislike hip hop aint respect rakim yuh aint kno hip hop...if tha m.c wana be less out dr of public stare then let him be trick yuh cant step to this

  • Rakim is a bitch!! Nigga humble yaself and appreciate the love Nas givin u. In this day and age of media and tecnology, every1 already knew this shit bout u b4 Nas put it out. How hard is it to research and discover your government name and kids name. Nas bout the only one still showing you love. Nigga you barely got ya album out cuz niggas wasnt fuckin with u. Dre even put ya shit on the back burner. Much respect as an artist but damn. That some bitch shit.

  • @KePimpin my thought exactly. Why hate when god showing you love? geez

  • Ahh come on how can anyone take it as a diss rappers are too sensitive, I feel him bout having his kids names and dobs in the track but other than that hes getting abit heated for no reason. Good they csorted it though, it was only what could have been a homage and tribute

  • didnt rakim do classic with nas b4 this video man they had to had speak on it by then

  • wtf when was this!! i thought rakim was dead...

  • To quote Les Grossman from tropic thunder. "Who is this guy"....Rakim. "Oh youre a great american, this nation owes you a huge debt. Now shut the fuck up and let me do my job!"

  • Nas said the next one was going to be KRS-One...now KRS-ONE is a true LEO and he will probably jump down Nas' Neck for doing some shit like that becuase KRS has kids as well....as for Rakim...He's got every right to be offended if Nas just did NOT contact him for some support or a Nod as to IF he should do an autobiography on him...if anything give him some royalty finance...but I think Nas took it the po' man's way and he's got too much money to do that!! soo

  • @MPCHustle to be fair it is an unauthorised biography. if he would have contacted Rakim about the track rakim might as well have recorded it or at least wrote it himself. That said i do get the kids angle

  • I don´t know what his problem is... i mean seriously, Nas wrote a song for you and you act all upset and shit?! dude, fuck you... even if you´re an oldschool legend, you'd never achieved what Nas achieved with has career. And he´s two steps above you when it comes to lyricism. So keep it low bruh, you´re not that tight you might think you are. Just an average oldschool cat who has the same lame flow, pointless lyrics and rap-techniques like the most cats back then...

  • @getyapaper Dude, get the fuck out of here. Nas can't fuck with Rakim's skill, but that is a different topic and irrelevant here. You're not looking at the big picture here. It's one thing to give a tribute, but it's another to put someone's personal business out there without their consent. That would be like me writing about your kids in a book. You may not want your family's life out there. That was his point.

  • @epics7 Ok, i agree you have a point there with the family-thing, but i still think Rakim is not better than Nas. Honestly, i don´t give a fuck if everybody on Rakims Dick because he is an allgedley Olschool Legend. I like "Paid In Full" but in the end of the day, Nas is still the better MC. Better Lyrics, better Techniques, better Flows and better Albums...

  • @getyapaper Forget the 'oldschool' title bro, Rakim invented flow cadence rhyme structure formulas that had never been created or heard before, he's a vernacular vocal scientist/tactician/mental creator/innovator//mathematician....

Nas is one of the illest emcees of all time...you should take time to overstand both men.

  • I was born in 1985. Nas always meant so much more to me than Rakim. Why does every rapper who got their start in the 90's worship Rakim. Was it his wordplay? his cadence? his shit just sounds like most rap from the old school

  • @eastbaybochat -- Nas 'n every other serious rapper of the 90s who considers himself a lyricist grew up & learned their game from Rakim who was basically the 1st of his kind (although, maybe KRS One comes closest). It's just a respect the past thing, i think. Nas is still my alltime favorite rapper but 2 hear him give hommage 2 those who came b 4 him who influenced & shaped his style, how can u "not" respect them also?

  • @htownhomie06 easily, I don't fuck with them

  • @eastbaybochat You need to adjust your senior ear plug. Idk any rappers from his era, 80's 90's and today that sound like Rakim. Most of the good, but few that are out today sound more like him. And the shit that's out today sucks dick. Non of them can hold a candle to Rakim's skills.

  • one hit wonder azz niggas!!

  • @sotathug941 Who Eric b and Rakim???? If so, u trippin...

  • @sotathug941 Um who are you referring to as a one hit wonder? Definite not Eric B & Rakim - look @ the plaques on his wall - E & Ra Ruled hip-hop for years with many hits! Nas isn't a one hitter quitter either - so who you referring too? Got lost on the wrong page! LMAO

  • I don't think Nas meant any harm and Ra spoke to him about, it's all good now. Making a song about another rapper's life is a new concept so there may be a misstep here and there.

  • @funkbrother216 I agree. I understand Rakim's feelings, because I don't like people speaking my business either. But one playthrough instantly tells that the song was all about passion for Rakim's work and respect. I thought Rakim should have addressed Nas, but now I see his angle, and maybe in retrospect, Nas should be the addressing Rakim.

  • RA WE LOVE YOU BUT I THINK NAS WAS JUST PAYING RESPECT BUT ON THE FLIP SIDE NAS COULD HAVE GAVE YOU A HEADS UP TO WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO WITH THIS. SO I FEEL BOTH SIDES

  • WHY DO YOU GUYS NEED TO POST VIDEOS ABOUT RAPPERS AND ENTERTAINERS FEELING FUNNY AND ALL THAT TYPE OF STUFF!! IF YOU LIKE RAPPERS, YOU OUGHT TO POST SOME POSITIVE STUFF TOO. The World ain't always about NEGATIVE all the time you know.

  • 'I felt funny' wtf? I thought he would appreciate the track

  • The Unauthorised Biography Of Rakim by Nas was wack as fuck anyway... that shit was boring.

  • boss nose wipe at the end

  • @TurtleBoY123100 you gotta be on meth, coke, and crack bitch u dont knw shit

  • This nigga is trippin...paranoia. the track was obviously a tribute...some ppl need to get off their own dick!

  • rakim was good at a time but he was overtaken by nas,pac and big and now he is old news no offence he is still one of the greatest

  • I love rakim but he seems to be another bitter old rapper

  • Nas Did It As A Track Dedicated To His Idol

  • I don't think he knows what the word unauthorized means.

  • 0:20 - 0:28 LOL.

  • FUCK NAS! Just his voice alone tells the whole story. He tryin 2 b someebody. His voice always rubbed me the wrong way. Niggas who don't belong recording always get to be recordin n niggas like me work hard for my shit! Nas u a wack ass nigga! And to be direspectin the Godfather of Underground Hip Hop was stupid thing i think u done did yet maing..

  • @rockstaramos Are you fucking stupid Nas is one of the greatest also and it was a tribute.

  • @rockstaramos Nigga you sound like a bitch,STFU

  • @rockstaramos wtf do u lik? u lik lil wayne huh u aint real ur a fagit ur probaably white 2 or act lik ur dont evenin know the meaning of ghetto or been a mile close 1

  • @rockstaramos stay off the crack, nas is the greatest mc eva no1's touching esco ra's a wrap now hes a coke junkie. All that islam/allah/muslim nonsense as brainwashed rakim weak brain, no1's feeling ra anymore, nas is the greatest mc period no1 touching nas ra's was gud back in the day i aint feeling ra no more hes smokes 2 much dope 2 much crack. Inspired by nas, aiming 2 b'come 1 of the greatest ra's old skool & dated nas is the greatest the ghetto american idol u neva gettin my title/crown.

  • it was a good concept , however nas should have cleared it with rakim first.since nas has so much respect for rakim and what rakim contributed to hip hop.

  • i'm a big Nas fan he is my number one, two is wutang. but i agree with Ra. Nas should've at least told him about the track being made.

  • Who cares we have the internet.

  • I think Nas made the unauthorized biography because he wanted to see where Ra's head was because Nas is on another level of thinking he wanted to see Ra's reaction and how he took what funny is I think Ra failed cause as a staple in the rap industry and all the fortune and fame he is still trapped in this so called "code" see Nas is trying to change the world Nas knows he has the ability and the voice to change the world anyone one in his position should try the same and I like the quote "All I

  • i'm sure Nas ment wel but like Ra sed he didnt holla at him

  • whats the nas song playing in the background?

  • @jmz1127 unauthorized biography

  • O.k...The question here is :unauthorised feelings laid to wax, forever: you just DON'T do biographical joints about a rapper (God, in this case) without a heads-up. Brother, I know Hip-Hop: I live it. Rakim's on-point here, and yes Nas did include specific dates, etc, about Ra's kids. As with all street codes/principles, "unauthorized" and personalised shit without a nod or a wink is NOT street-smart or acceptable from where these two come from, which is where I come from. Anyway, peace out!

  • @Sirgreaseflick Not only that but he had the audacity to use his real name. I'm sure nas meant well but you're right he disrespected a lot of codes, I mean c'mon man he could have said something about Rakim's hip-hop milestones and left it at that. peace.

  • @Sirgreaseflick

so why did rakim say he was cool with the track with the interview with nas on mtv but then like 4 years later it's a problem? lol

  • @RelaxednCaIm exactly nas the greatest , rakim just bitter & mad.

  • @Lovedalord8

i actuallt think rakim's better, he just raps about rapping to much... where nas has more appealing content, but isn't as nice.

  • @Sirgreaseflick man you new york guys are so stupid...you think everyone lives like you and follows your stupid street codes...SHUT UP man let everybody enjoy the music

  • Damn, Rah was feeling all un-easy, Nas wasn't Lying when he said the Biography was "Unauthorized".

  • I don't really think he needed Rakim's blessing, I think Nas was just paying homage, and everyone knows Nas looks up to Rakim. I mean what Emcee doesn't?

  • @SpitYaGame88TonzEnie The thing is and I'd love to see it, but what if Rakim and Nas did a colaboration album with features from artists like Lupe Fiasco, J. Cole and Eminem, maybe some DMX or Game. Throw some production like Just Blaze and Kanye West and that thing would shake the foundations of the Earth.

  • He ain't lyin tho lol. (operationDEE)

  • @tone81aw Ice T was the 1st rapper on da west coast to make a gangsta rap record makes him da founder for west coast and only west coast. But be serious the impact cube had for that genre of rap surpasses ice t by miles making him godfather

  • Schoolly D wit gucci time was 1st gangsta rap record making him da founder and he had more way b4 ice t,and 6 in da morn was heavily influenced by gucci time, where's ur history? As far as my list Big is great but 2 albums can't cut it and PAC great 2 but not greater than those 5, and K blow gets props 4 his history but those elementary rhymes compared to my 5 just ca

  • Awesome. All bow down to the mighty Rakim. By the way, I think him and Nas really need to discuss the biography issue. If it was me, I would only do the bio if I have Rakim's blessing and approval. Lets keep the harmony in the hip hop game. All hail.

  • crackhead

  • Yo I understand the code of respect and not puttin a man's business out there (especially on wax), but Rakim, my dude, to whom much respect is owed, my personal Hip Hip God-NaS-has taken the time out to make an audio autobiography pretty much praising you and givin up much props. Okay so it might be considered shady if he didn't hit you up pre or prorelease of the track, but maybe that's because he was waiting on you (his idol) to call him first an give him your approval. Just maybe. . .

  • Rakim is a man with principles, street pride; he knows when to shut the fuck up. Clearly Nas does not. Regardless of what can be obtained on the Web, Nas should have consulted with Rakim first. This is an elementary street code, nuff said. An authorised biography would have been above board; now, who would dispute that?

Additionally, Nas produced a dud: the rapo itself is vapid, hollow, Hip-Hop-less, absolute crud. Rakim is as New school as he is old school, but wise. Nas needs to re-evaluate!

  • Rakim is on point. The R is for Real DEal. He'd survive prison, Nas wouldn't.

  • @Sirgreaseflick You're a fucking idiot. The only people who disrespect Nas are people with down syndrome. You obviously don't know shit about hip-hop. Why the fuck would someone need approval to do a bid about one of their idols? If anything, Rakim should be thanking Nas.

  • Aint no reason this nigga should still have to be rhymin,to make a living! He should b kickin back somewhere sittin on millions!I wish he neva did that joint wit Maino,it just aint seem like a good fit..Plus these lil dirt bombs cant appreciate the R,1st thing they gon say is move over n make way for the new breed..These corny niggas wit they simplistic rhymes and overused beats(i aint sayn no names wack niggas get no light on the Rs page!)

  • 1. Rakim- Greatest emcee ever. 2. Krs 1- Father of all flows/ Da teacha. 3.Kool G Rap- founder of mafioso rap. 4.Ice Cube- godfather of gangsta rap. 5. • People don't understand the streets. There some thing's you' say and you get dent up for that. Them pretenders got people fooled. If you grow up in New York you would over-stand! Talk your talk, not mine.
