Rabbit recovering from anaesthesia

Is that the cage she normally lives in? If so it is WAY too small! I see a bigger cage next to it so I am hoping that is just a travel cage she is in.

I've heard that bonded bunnies sometimes attack when one smells different i.e. goes to the vet so that may be why the Vanilla was acting aggressive towards Twitch.

I'm going to have to agree with you. Since this video, Vanilla established herself as the dominant female. It took about a week for them to tolerate each other again, and a few months for them to actually become affectionate. Whenever we get Twitch's teeth trimmed, every eight weeks or so, there's a similar show of aggression. It's not nearly as bad though and it's probably due to the different scent. Thanks for the advice!

@vgnohz I agree. Twitch probably smelled different after coming home from the vet, so Vanilla didn't recognize her. When I got my older female spayed, her bonded sister went with her so they wouldn't fight when one came home and smelled different.

What the hell are you doing with rabbits. I can't believe the friggin cage. You should be sited for aninal cruelty. And then yuo say you intended on putting 2 bunnies in a shoe box. Obvioulsy the bunny is confused and shold be recovery in a quite area, I don't know what you did (or the vet did). You need a new vet. He should never have let you take a bunny coming out of anesthesia home like that.

Thanks msrret. I agree entirely with you, that cage is unsuitable for a rabbit that size. That's why it's used only for transportation, and in this case, temporary isolation as indicated in the video description. Their permanent home is over 15 square ft, much larger than most rabbits are given.

In addition, unless you're a veterinarian yourself, you have no business critisizing my vet's opinion on whether or not it is safe for an animal to be sent home after a procedure.

Thats what I talking about you! I can stand people wanna put on on a f**king PETA cape and dont even know the whole story. An abused animal would not let the caregiver (notice I didnt say "owner") get near them. so I agree lighten up msrret.
