i use light strings, i think they are 12's, but the bend is still hard to do. i've just practiced bending a lot so my fingers are strong enough to do it. if you are having trouble, try using 2 or 3 fingers to do the bend.

just so you know all the d chords are played with f sharp bass ( use your thumb 2nd fret top e string) it sounds a lot better. it's funny i know that cuz i'm a drummer lol

how much time depends on you. practice as often as you can and maybe a couple of weeks. oractice only a little and it could take much longer.

all you do is place your thumb on the top e string and hold the d and you got it keep it up

You only have to put your thumb on the 6th string, 2nd fret when you play the D chord during the main part of the song.
