Don't forget, heat rises. Amps mounted upside down on the ceiling means the heat isn't able to rise and get away from them as much causing less efficiency, less power, more stress on the amps. The starter in a car needs a lot of amps for a short amount of time. That's pretty much what car batteries are made for. But for how long they can supply this amount of amps is another question. You can -easily- find bigger/better batteries that can supply above 900 amps.

I hear alot of people saying that a amp wont work at a different angle. This would be true if you got walmart amp the heat up all the time. If you got a good amp it shouldn't heat up very much. And if it does then you mite have a weak electrical system to back your amp up. So if you have a cheap it and tou allso have it sideways or upside your blocking the heat from rising and causing the amp to produce more heat the power.

I think it is a good idea to put them on the roof, if you deaden it really good first and screw the amps in, there will be virtually no roof flex any more from the rigidness and weight of the amps :D
