@tpmaniac1 I've found that going to the ruins (by talking to Sir Chasm and Sir Vivor in Oaklore) is a pretty good quest for leveling. The payouts get better and better while the difficulty just goes down.

I beg to differ. A) Artix has no such ability, or there has never been any word about such an ability.

B) In all games of AE, Artix displays a certain joy in fighting the undead. If he knew that he was only fighting to put the undead out of their misery, he wouldn;t show his excitement this much whenever he sees the undead.

@AQWGoliath Go to DragonFable and play the Necropolis quests. Vayle and Artix both touch the Dark Orb (maybe Artix only looked into it), and Artix conveys to the hero what the orb had sone to him. That's where I got this from.

@Anyvalidname I am a Beta player, I have played every single quest. And youre not right. After he touched (He even lifted it) the orb, he had gained the ability to sens the presence of undead, and he instinctively knew the best way of how to battle each one of them. That is something entirely different.

Oh and its the Orb of Darkness by the way, instead of Dark Orb :)

Btw, your etymology of the word Necromancer could use some correcting. Necromancer has two origins with similar base words and pretty much the same meaning. The prefix comes from the Latin "nigr" and Greek "nekr" meaning "black", and insinuating "death". The suffix comes from the Greek "manteia", meaning "to divine". So a Necromancer basically began meaning someone who would summon spirits of the dead to predict the future, and later came to mean a manipulator of the dead's bodies.
