i just bought this camera, but i am confused for if i want to print my photos at a photo lab since all the photos are stored internally and not on a memory card. what does this 'dongle' do??
hi Pssitacdae, is it possible to transfer photofiles from internal memory to a memory stick by just doing in the camera itself without doing it computer/browser. because if its possible i will only remove the memory stick and plug it in the computer for some edeting or other stuff than plugging the camera to computer and do some stuff cause it . my point here is saving the power/battery and hassle free.. based on my research a separate memory stick maybe used after the internal memory is full.

1) Use the USB Dongle
OR
2) Use the menu to transfer photos to an inserted memory stick.
i will try to make a video to show this..

does the usb dongle come with it
hayleyt14 3 years ago
Yes, its in the box.
Its a small Dongle that's basicly a USB Mini to the cams port dongle.
its comes with a 4 inch (yes 4 inch) usb lead.
but as long as you use the dongle you can use a full length USB cable of your own.

Sorry ( he goes onto say that the ONLY way to get the pics 'OFF' the cam is to use the
USB Dongle.)
Yes, the DSC-T2 wont start saveing pics to a memory stick unless the 4gb internal memory is full.
But the only way to get photos OFF the cam is via the USB Dongle is NOT TRUE !
There is an option in the menu that allows you to Transfer photos to a memory stick.
This is a quite large mistake and nearly put me off buying this cam.
In short there are 2 ways to get photos off this cam

IMPORTANT !!! PLEASE READ THIS...
Just as i suspected that some 'Review' sites just copy other reviews, theres a commen mistake
made about this Cam that ive seen in a few reviews of this DSC-T2.
He states in this video that alough the cam has a Memory Stick slot, the cam wont store pics to the card, unless the internal 4gb memory is full.
he goes onto say that the ONLY way to get the pics on the cam is to use the
USB Dongle.
Hes Both Right and wrong...
