Mr. Mann! How does one obtain this sweet serenade for later enjoyment? Brilliant memory. Mine are similar, but involve Commodore 64, Amiga systems, and in-table-top pac man. I love how the music enhances the feeling of the memory.
@coluch I fondly remember the cocktail table machines in my local pizza joints. Some of my first memories of video games are of those style machines and the regular stand-up cabinets. Coin-Op gaming is nothing like it was in the late 1970s and 1980s, which I think is unfortunate. (cont.)
(cont.) I miss those days when a fellow gamer would come up to you and say "Hey, do you mind if I join in with you?" and I would say "Yeah man, let's play!". Then you'd be best friends for the duration of your game time together on that machine, and then politely part ways after your quarters or patience were expended.
@dwharris79 That's awesome! I never had an experience like that, as I was too young to be hanging out on my own at that time. I usually played alone or with a sibling or cousin. The first system we had at my house though was the NES, and this Mario video sums up the feeling nicely.
Sooooo. . . anyone want to sponser an all out production of GameJew's "The Mario Opera?" Anyone who didn't get to see it would totally love it----so much nostalgia in one awesome 3 act rock opera and fantastic music to boot (of course all Mario related) I'm for pushing this forward as much as I can . . . can I enlist help from anyone?????
Glad to see a few other veteran gamers commenting. I think my first recollection of playing video games was in the arcade. Pac-Man is most dominant in my memory, and Doney Kong. I think it was 1984 when I got a ColecoVision with the Expansion Module #1 (making Atari 2600 games playable) to follow shortly after. So I had a broad game library to play at home, and I remember Pitfall very well too. I got an NES a couple years after, and the addiction has never stopped.
It would be my number one wish to see the GameJew show come back in full form. It was such a great show and these little BtDOotC videos are great but I crave more GameJew!
@Fiends4 I think we'd all love to see more GameJew. However, I think the small dosses with videos like these is how Jonathan wants to keep it. He has a lot of other project nowadays, and I just don't think he has time for a full GameJew reboot. So I'll enjoy these new GameJew shorts, and continue the fond memories of the past shows.
As a side note, I'd be interested in hearing Jonathan's brother do some co-commentary in a future video.
I remember getting a Sega Genesis at my 4th birthday party(Chuckie Cheese ftw) and being completely sucking into Sonic 2 which came with it, from there I discovered various new worlds of mindblowing 16 bitness and eventually getting my older brothers NES within a couple years and moving onto original gameboy and never stopped moving forward with games. Gamejew you are awesome, keep doing what your doing
is there a link to the MP3 somewhere? D:

I started with the Atari 2600 as well. Mostly played Combat, Maze Craze & a few Pac-Man rip offs.
