  • @videoforfriend Look in your trash. Mac automatically unzips zips and puts the original in the trash.

  • For me Library doesn't come up. WTF?!?!

  • @TheGreenCapricorn Just use Finder. Use the Go, Go To Folder, menu option. Then type

    ~/Library

that will be your user's library and then you can find Application Support and minecraft

  • @michaelroseagain I could get into my library no problem but i can't find the Minecraft folder under Application Support Help!

  • @TheGreenCapricorn Did you use my method? If not I can't be sure you're looking at the right library.

  • mines doesn't say that its weird i go to finder then it doesn't say what you explained in 1:00

  • @Christmasgunners Just use Finder. Use the Go, Go To Folder, menu option. Then type

  • @glowstick145 Just use Finder. Use the Go, Go To Folder, menu option. Then type

    ~/Library

that will be your user's library and then you can find Application Support and minecraft

  • Dude i did the right steps but all of my minecraft info got erased!!!!!!!

  • @imafreak1313 You must have done something wrong. If you deleted files then look in your trash and get them back out again. I'm guessing you didn't do that and you're just not looking in the right place.

  • your voice is so fucking relaxing

  • when i go to open up the quandry texture pac in my downloads it opens up a bunch of shit i dont need. Can u help me?

  • @michaelroseagain when i go to the document after i download the text pack it did not open the download folders liker your did

  • @15roadrider hmmm...

Just use Finder. Use the Go, Go To Folder, menu option. Then type

    ~/Library

that will be your user's library and then you can find Application Support and minecraft

That will get you your texture folder. Then you need to put the zip you downloaded (you will find it in trash) in that folder.

  • @michaelroseagain When I add it it shows up but I cannot select it. I don't know why cause I followed both of your videos and they show up. It is the LB Photo Realism X256 7.5.0

  • @TheBeastFish Photo Realism X256 is a HD texture pack, it won't work unless you mod your Minecraft. Minecraft only handles 16x16 texture packs by default.

  • Thanks so much for this video, but I don't have a "minecraft" folder made in my App Support folder. What does this mean?

  • @DanishsUtube It means you are looking in the wrong place. Check out my other videos explaining how to find your folder.

  • when i click library only one folder comes up saying fontcollections can u help??

  • @blazzeMW3 Is it the mac's library, or your personal library?

  • @oscarmand2 1,000s of people would disagree. I can't help it if people can't follow instructions.

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH I LOVE YOU FOR THIS!!!!!!! YOUR VOICE IS ALSO AMAZING!!!

  • Thanks so much i never find a good Video, an now ih find a good Video :D

  • so u have to make it into a zip file

  • @TheChriskiller28 Yes. But not exactly. Texturepacks are generally distributed as .zip files. But Mac OS typically unzips the .zip file for you and sends the zip to trash. You can either zip again (as I do in this video, making sure you zip the files and folders and not the containing folder; as this will result in a greyed out icon) or you can get the zip from Trash (much easier). Or you can turn off auto-unzipping (what I ended up doing).

  • @michaelroseagain omg now i know how to use them i ty so much ^^

  • @zzzzzzzzzwap IF you have Lion

  • there is no minecraft application..

  • @koberwoodgill Go to Finder, go to the 'Go' menu, choose 'Go to folder...' type this in:

    ~/Library

Then you can browse to Application Support, then minecraft, then Texturepacks

  • @koberwoodgill When you download and run Minecraft for the first time it creates the folder, you just need to know where to look.

See my other videos for good explanations of this.

Or checkout Minecraft for Mac d0t c0m

  • Hi.

i cant find a folder named minecraft in my library... can you help me??

    thank you

  • @deathmasta22 Go to Finder, go to the 'Go' menu, choose 'Go to folder...' type this in:

    ~/Library

Then you can browse to Application Support, then minecraft, then Texturepacks

  • @michaelroseagain Thank you very much! :)

  • @deathmasta22 Here to serve! :)

    Subscribe for more :)

  • relaxing but proper quiet voice :P

  • It's really good but it's not In the application support and I can't find it anywhere else?

If u have any ideas please tell me:)

  • @iTheSurviver Go to Finder, go to the 'Go' menu, choose 'Go to folder...' type this in:

    ~/Library

Then you can browse to Application Support, then minecraft, then Texturepacks

  • Download files. Copy the zip. Folder and go to the house with your name, library, applicAtion support, minecraft, texture packs, then paste it in.

  • @webkinzgirl008 That's fine, unless you are using Lion, the Library is hidden by default, hence all these questions and problems. There is a video response to this, 'Finding your folder'.

  • I Am not getting the .ZIP Files...

  • @soara16 they are in your Trash

  • thanks very helpful

  • My problem is it gets grey after putting the texture pack in "texturepack" folder and it does not work, HOW DO I FIX THAT?

  • @NKPGcrafting By watching the video. Zip the files not the folder.

  • @SMOOVEMONK if by "thing" you mean zip and by folder you mean "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks" then it WILL work. Make sure you follow the instructions, or subscribe for the next video which will make it even easier, I promise.

  • your voice is really relaxing for some reason.....

  • How did you do that awesome search thing???!!?!?!

  • @thelilkilla567 Alfredapp

  • I CANT RENAME MY FOLDER AFTER AN APPLICATION

  • @LiveLoveMJ Oh dear. Is that a question? If so please provide more info.

  • thanks alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You could add that if you press go, and the hold Alt key (optionkey), the library will appear.

  • @closertous Perfect! What a great tip! I'll make a video right now. Thanks buddy.

  • Not only is this video instructive and helpful, but your voice is amazingly soothing.

  • dude i really need to download a cool texture pack but it ends up with a folder instead of zip!!!!

  • @Destinyblade37 Please actually watch the video

  • ..theres no mine craft folder in mine merhh

  • @smoshyissollamalike Subscribe, it'll be the next video that helps you :)

  • Someone plz help! No-matter what tp i download, i go to the tp folder, (in mc) and the tp shows up but in a gray version of the default. when i click on it, mc does nothing. I used mc patcher and still nothing. Can anyone help me? ASAP

  • @OlympianAres Follow the video. You need a zip, not a folder. If you download a zip it'll automatically be unzipped and become a folder. You need to re-zip it up (as I show you) or find the original zip (which will be sent to trash when auto-unzipped after download).

Can't say it more simply than that. A grey texture pack is caused by a folder, or a zipped folder, you need to zip the CONTENTS of the folder.

  • my minecraft come with 0 folders!

  • @minitooth Minecraft can't run without folders. Look in /Users/*your mac username*/Library/Application Support/minecraft.

Don't look in /Library/Application Support as that is the library for the whole machine, you have a user library and it's in there.

  • mine doesn't copy onto actual minecraft. It just stays as the folder.PPPLLLEEEAASSSEEE ANSWER MEE!!!!

  • @MrsMalfoy0105 Zip the folder

  • so i have the game installed but no folder in my library corresponding to minecraft the only thing that looks similar to whats in your folder in if i show package contents to the minecraft file that opens the game

  • @killrd Look in /Users/*your mac username*/Library/Application Support/minecraft.

  • Bullshit. That easy?

  • @legruneflickmaster Several thousand people seem to think so.

  • Thanks!!!! Some cool texture packs THAT WORK!! Ur a great help :)

  • @XxGillimasterxX There are 12 Quandary packs, one for each month.

  • i go to library application suppor but i cant find minecraft and my game is paid PLEASE HELP!!!

  • @Lucasvaz0112 Look in /Users/*your mac username*/Library/Application Support/minecraft.

Don't look in /Library/Application Support - that's the library for the machine, not your user.

  • when i go into the application support folder, minecraft isn't listed there...?

  • @Zxl115 Look in /Users/*your mac username*/Library/Application Support/minecraft.

  • my minecraft folder has nothing but the game itself. i have played it and saved maps

  • @imtheboctilian Look in /Users/*your mac username*/Library/Application Support/minecraft.

  • It's not working... I downloaded a pack, which turned into a folder, and I put the folder in the texture minecraft folder and it didn't show up. :c

  • @itunemusic986 WATCH THE VIDEO!

  • please help. I downloaded the quandry thing all the same as what you did but all the .zip turned into a folder filled with files, I didn't see a single .zip file anywhere

  • @Coolyboy690 Watch the video!

  • WHY DONT I HAVE LIBRARY IN FINDER PLZ HELP

  • @TheStealthyTomato Watch the video!

  • @TheStealthyTomato If you have recently upgraded to lion the Mac hides the library. There is a certain terminal script to reveal it... look it up.

  • @TheStealthyTomato if you have lion OS on your computer for some reason the library is hidden by default (don't ask me why). so what you need to do is... on your desktop punch in command+shift+G this should bring up a window with a text bar and words that say go to folder. then in the text bar type in ~/Library/ and hit go. this should find it for you.

  • @lolzkeplar Yes.

  • @TheStealthyTomato click on finder then click "go" and then after that hold down "alt" and it should come up

  • @1998DUBSTEP I love this tip!

  • @TheStealthyTomato Go to Finder, go to the 'Go' menu, choose 'Go to folder...' type this in:

    ~/Library

Then you can browse to Application Support, then minecraft, then Texturepacks

  • @michaelroseagain I don't have any minecraft folder in application support at all :/ and ive been playing it all week.

  • @kopilit Just use Finder. Use the Go, Go To Folder, menu option. Then type

    ~/Library

that will be your user's library and then you can find Application Support and minecraft

  • i do everything correctly...but when i log onto minecraft and go into the text. pack folder, the texture pack icon is grey. i select it and nothing happens.... D: HELP!!!

  • @SuperSaiyangirl990 If grey then it is a folder, or a zip of a folder, that you have added. This video (if you watch it) explains how to fix this.

  • @michaelroseagain ok ty!

  • So, I downloaded Painterly Pack and put the downloaded file into my texture pack file. However, when I opened Minecraft and went to change my texture pack, the only option was Default. I noticed there was a readme in the file, do I need to get rid of it?

  • When ever I download the pack, it turns into a folder. And I'm not double clicking it, it's just automatic. please help! :c

  • @Candlebell Yes, this is the whole point of the video! Watch again and you will see that I tell you that you need to turn the files back into a compressed file (also called a 'zip file'). You will also find the original texture pack zip file in your Trash, so you could take it out of there and place in the correct folder, job done.

  • @Candlebell Same

  • @Coolyboy690 Watch. The. Video.

  • how do you make that circle on your mouse?

  • @mrzackw25 It's part of the Screenflow screen capture program.

  • Can you please please please put up a download for this world. Thanks, I subbed :)

  • @GAQuinlanz Which world? The Buddhaland?

  • @michaelroseagain At 5:01 when u clicked on World 1

  • @GAQuinlanz Oh, sorry, don't think I have that world anymore.

  • when i open the folder i downloaded it doesn't have an item like urs to put in my texture pack folder. it doesn't look the same

  • @xxskaterdodexx hard to know what you mean, try again with more info. Did you know the texture pack zip file gets put in your Trash when you download? You can get the zip from there and then add to your folder located at

    /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/minecraft/texturepacks/

  • Thanks bro, nice vid :)

  • this video is amazing, thank you sooo much, I had soo much trouble in doing this for a year or so, this is a really good walkthrough, thumbs up!

  • thx so much!

  • Thanks so much!

  • @Stonerb13 If you deleted your world folder you'll find it in the trash, you will also find the texture pack zip files there too.

  • When I copy and paste them into the texturepack folder I open minecraft and the texturepack thing and the texturepacks r there but there grey and I can't click on them ?

  • @silverhawk626

If the texture pack is showing as grey you have probably zipped the folder and not the files.

Option 1: Make sure you compress the FILES and not the FOLDER.

Option 2: Empty Trash, Download texture pack, let it automatically unzip, then go to Trash and get the zip that gets put there automatically. Put the zip in the folder.

  • @Stonerb13 Yes it does, see all the positive comments.... that's people who got it to work. You might have lots of reasons why it doesn't work... saying "it doesn't work" is not useful and doesn't help me help you. Have you tried a different texture pack?

  • Gottseidank!

Im subbing to your channel you explain everything we need to know!

    =]

  • i can't find application support on my computer is there another way to find it

  • @tommitch33

    1) Go to Finder

    2) Hit 'Go To Folder' in 'Go' menu

    3) Type: ~/Library and hit return

    4) Application Support will be there

  • My open texture packs foler dosent work too -.-

  • @ModernWarfare2TV1000 Watch the video, it shows you how to fix this.

  • omg why are you whispering?

  • @iAmSukiBum Sorry, it was late, my g/f was asleep next door. You could try turning up your speakers.

  • how did you just started writing and a window on your desktop started showing the results and from the web? Is that a widget or some kind of spotlight add on?..

  • @rolanddes Alfred.app, go get it, it's awesome

  • When I downloaded Quantry texture pack, i downloaded the spring files, but inside the folders its just things which says, 'enviourment, armous ect.'

    What went wrong?

  • @Breyerlover267 get the zip from your trash.

  • Does it work the same way if i use painterlypack?

  • @FelitienWoW yes, just download the painterly zip (if it auto-unzips get the zip from the trash).

  • My files aren't zip. What do I do?? :(

  • @MoonLiteWolfPro Watch the video fercrisakes!!! Find the files and zip them up again! That's the point of this video!

You could also find the zip file in the trash (zips are automatically unzipped when downloaded on Mac).

  • @michaelroseagain First off, why are you yelling at me? Calm down.

Secondly does zip them up again me compressing them. Cause I did that and the files are grayed out. It doesn't work that way. They definitely aren't in the trash, I checked that already.

Third, what is fercrisakes? Are you making up words?

  • @MoonLiteWolfPro Dude, I was yelling because the video explains, carefully, what to do, that's why it is 6 minutes long.

If it is grey you need to Zip/compress the *files* and not the *folder*.

    OR

Empty trash. Download texture pack, watch it automatically unzip, go to trash & get the zip that gets discarded by the system. It will be there.

    OR

Open Safari browser, Go to Preferences > General and unstick the 'Open 'Safe Files' box'. Then download the zip and it shouldn't unzip automatically.

  • @michaelroseagain Easiest way is that you download texture pack, put it into the trash. Then take it out of there and then put it in texture packs folder.

  • @wukaboy Yeah, thanks, I've been telling people that here in the comments... both ways are a little counter intuitive. I hope version 1.0.0 will have it working for Mac. if not I'll do a simpler video for the idiots who can't follow a simple 6 minute seminar.

  • got a question: I can't find my bi folder or any other minecraft folder.

    HELP!

  • @iFlashyNL See my other video. It's called "Finding Your Minecraft Folder" :D

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial, it worked like a charm! :D

  • Tank u

  • hey so i tried to do it, im getting the texture pack folders and copying them into the texturpack folder itself, and im not getting them when i go to the mods and texture pack option on the main title screen. help me out?

  • @Missingsomthing did you zip the folders?

  • @michaelroseagain yeah hey i've tried so many tutorials (you wouldn't imagine) and i still haven't been able to get any of the textures to work. when i tried this, i downloaded a texture, The end is extremely nigh', and it doesn't have any .zip files...

    help me out?

  • @masterchief5679 First, it is an HD texture pack. You will need to mod your Minecraft to make it work. Then you need to follow the instructions here.

I will do a HD tutorial at some point over Christmas... if people send me money I'll do it this week :)

  • @michaelroseagain oh don't worry bro. i just did your installing texture packs one. and to my surprise, it worked! thanks bro subbed. please check out my minecraft videos when you have the time. :)
