It's not triplets in the beginning...its more like

1 +a2 + 3e+ 4 +

Right hand is straight eighth notes and the left hand is playing basically dotted 8ths

gives you a 3 over 4 polyrhythm. Well played though..just a mix up in note value but still very well played.

2nd fill sounds good but you explain it wrong! Your right hand is hitting 8th notes on the tom. Snare is on a 16th note clock hitting every 3rd 16th note only. That is what you are playing but actually the studio version is not doing 8th notes on the tom, it's something else.
