The problem I had personally with the whole school system was 1) that it dragged on for too many years and 2) that after a certain age, I wanted to focus in depth on the subjects I excelled in and was not allowed to.

The school system should have:

1. 6 day weeks, not 5

2. year-round school year with shorter, evenly-spaced breaks/vacations, not 3 months off, during which you forget some subject matter & have to be re-taught

3. alternative methods of testing (ever heard of multiple intelligences)

As a social being you have learn to abide by law and it should be taught to your children. Reading, write and math are not trevial things. I agree with the first half of this video. Mandatory *state* education is probably one of the worst ideas in human history, how can it not be an exercise in state propaganda and indoctrination?? The history classes (at least in america) are a fucking ridiculous glorification of every single president and war, regardless of how wrong or how many innocent people were slaughtered.

The second half? It's called the division of labor... It's also called working for a living, and paying your bills. Usually this means you work for a company, that is unless you want to risk all your own capitol, and then hold out for years waiting to see if your company got off the ground, because thats basically what you are paying the investors and 'evil' capitalists for, to take on that responsibility. I wish people would see the HUGE difference between the first half and the second half

i went to public school and i feel fine. i had tons of time to think about myself and i dont really respect authority figures more than any other person. and why wouldnt i wanna get better hours or better pay? i will say that school really wasted time and didnt teach anything usefull.

@morningsun29 Homeschooling is better, however children also have to learn to work with others. I believe this could be acomplished in sports, clubs, and the scouts ect.

@morningsun29 I homeschooled my kids! Just go with your instinct. Those young years, we mostly read, read, read. Hundreds of books!!! Find a good outlet for GOOD activity books. My kids loved them. To open neuro pathways, get some maze books. My son was doing very complicated mazes when he was 10.Play board games! Homeschooling is easy during those younger years. Join a homeschooling group, connecting with like minds helps keep you fresh. Most important, enjoy your kids and HAVE FUN!
