It was Hindus (with some Muslims) who adopted Sikhism in the Punjab in 15th century. Even today, Jat Sikhs alone comprise in between 50-66% of Sikhs. As I am a Jat, so I know that until recently it was a tradition for Jats to marry their elder son to Sikhs - mainly to increase their population. Sikhs originated from Hindus - with other reasons - to protect the Punjab from invaders. HInduism is actually Sanathan dharma and its more like way of life and code of conduction. However Hinduism have seen much changes likely under foreign rules. Buddhism however maintains the ortodox teachings of sanathan dharma.

It was Hindus (with some Muslims) who adopted Sikhism in the Punjab in 15th century. Even today, Jat Sikhs alone comprise in between 50-66% of Sikhs. As I am a Jat, so I know that until recently it was a tradition for Jats to marry their elder son to Sikhs - mainly to increase their population. Sikhs originated from Hindus - with other reasons - to protect the Punjab from invaders. Well friends , Iam a Hindu n I really had no idea about this "12 bajey" joke.
But belive me it was an eye opener for me , I have a lot of sikh friends some of them very close and I respect them as my brothers, but from today onwards there stature and respect has increased even more , I ll look up to them with even more pride and ll feel humbled for them being my friends .

Ahmad Shah Abdali attacked Northan India more than 5 times, his army was so powerful and brutal he single handedly formed great Afgan Empire and marched to Delhi. His army wiped out SHADASHIV RAO of martaha in 3rd Panipath war. The Sikhs did not support either side and decided to sitback and see what would happen. HInduism is actually Sanathan dharma and its more like way of life and code of conduction. However Hinduism have seen much changes likely under foreign rules. Buddhism however maintains the ortodox teachings of sanathan dharma.

Buddhism ,Sikhism is a religion while Hinduism is a culture and sanatan dharma is Paganism( ie worship of fire,water,earth and almost everything ancient being was afraid off or unable to understand).Sanatan Dahrma has no founder no guiding principles thus cannot be called a complete religion.

Sanathan dharma is similar to shamanism which have existed for over several thousand years. Shamanism have existed without any founder and suprisingly people from Irish tribes and even to aborigines in Australia had same idead similar to elemental worshipps etc.

If you read Buddhism ( ortodox Buddhism) then you will be suprised that Buddha never established a religion but a sangha ( Unity ) BUddhism is more regarded as way of life than a religion by world scholars.
