@veadariel To me, Brian & Justin seemed to be on somewhat parallel journeys. Justin was on the threshold of adulthood - growing from boy to man. Brian was on the threshold of his 30's - growing from his emotionally-scarred perpetual adolescence into a man who was now a father, a man who (mostly against his will) was falling in love, finally allowing his heart to be touched by another human being. Learning to TRUST.

He sure as fuck wasn't meant to go back to being all alone, not after all that!

Brian seems/is so sad....i can't stand it, that why i have to read endlessy fanfiction in which his relationship with Justin finnaly worksand he could be happy despite everything that happened to him...so saaaaad

@greendaycarry - He is such a tragic character...so many dismiss him as a simple, unfeeling asshole, but you've got to look deeper...when you do, you see just how damaged he really is...As for the fanfiction fixes, I totally do the same thing. LOL. HappyBrian fics rule!

@veadariel Yeah, I'm getting to the point where I'm trying to write one. The ending pissed me off! Season 5 had some good points, but still, Justin left Brian for mostly the same reasons he left in season 2 - reasons that he had resolved when he got back with Brian in season 3, and were completely irrelevant when he stuck with Brian through cancer in season 4. Brian was making progress throughout seasons 3 and 4, and in 5 they almost completely devolved him.

@VerdantNight - Don't be sorry for venting...I've done my fair share across the QAF posting communities. I recently read an interview with the writers where they talked about being surprised by the negative reaction and not understanding where it came from because they "never meant it" to look like Brian had regressed and described it as "coming full circle." I was thinking these guys gotta be politicians 'cause they are so full of it. He TOTALLY regressed whether they meant it or not.

The song is called Maybe It's Me and the artist is Ingram Hill from their album Until Now.

They had a big radio hit called Will I Ever Make it Home but i like this song much better. :-) I'm blabbing but I gotta support local artists, right?
