Oh yeah. I made that with my 2002 bug. I bought some transparent plastic and some double tape (the one that has glue on both sides). I hope my panels last longer cause those are original panels (which no longer exist on VW dealers). Cool vid.
Awesome tip. Great vids. I learned alot from the other sound deadening vid you did where you put the QR along the bugs, "Firewall" haha aka Backseat. I don't have a bug sadly :( hehe I have a 61 ranchero. Thinking I may go the QR rout for the entire floor. They recommend putting a thick mat-like thing on top of that. What do you think of that? "Luxury liner" it's called. I'm wondering if I could do a combo QR and some sort of liner for a decent budget. what about the roof?
@Oakles22 Yeah I actually put like a jute material on top of the quickroof. What kind of mat are they talking about?? But yeah, you can totally do a combo.
thanks, i did end up watching your other video where you said it shouldn't smell. now i just have to find this stuff in canada. home depot here is a no go.
Cool thanks a lot! Just got finished installing everything--speakers and all. For the insulation I just didn't pull the backing off (to stop the insulation from sticking) and pushed it all the way up then pulled the backing off just under that metal bar. So yeah, thanks a lot!
Thanks for the quick reply. Great videos. I was curious on this video also: does the quick roof go all the way under the overhanging metal? And how do you reach up there?
It's the housewrap product that goes over framing, for moisture and wind resistance. Home depot/Lowe's has it. You can easily score scraps of it at construction sites.
No trouble at all, just cut it to size and put it on the doors. Just use a roller to get all the air bubbles out. And yes, quick roof all over the floors and firewalls.
Awesome tip

yep just basically go up as far as you can with your hand. Say mid way up the over hanging metal.

Does this quickroof get in the way of the window coming down at all? And What are firewalls?
EagleXGwaihir 2 years ago
It does not get in the way no. Firewalls are in the engine compartment and up in the front section under the dash.
