  • There's a Scheherazade reference in there.

  • why Rare quit DK :(

  • absolutely awesome music!!! that's why I loved this game! Thanks

  • I've always wondered, why do they call it Donkey Kong when it's about monkeys, or are they apes? Anyway, wouldn't Monkey Kong make more sense?

  • @kjw21411 To quote Farnsworth from Futurama, "Monkeys aren't donkeys! Stop playing with our heads!"

  • @kjw21411 It goes all the way back to 1981. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Donkey Kong, wanted to make the character's name sound like a stubborn monkey. However, he looked in an English dictionary and thought that donkey was a synonym for stubborn (kind of like a stubborn mule). It is called Donkey Kong because of a translation error. Hope that clears things up.

  • @SonicBrawler77 So how come it was never corrected?

  • @kjw21411 I guess because it was a catchy name that sold well in the 1981 arcade.

  • Listening to this while riding a camel along Egypt XD

  • Horrible Histories ripped this off, haha.

  • i just whistle this nice tune all day you know you do it too bro.

  • Ooooh banana

  • FUCK THAT BEETLE

  • Why couldn't Zelda OOT music be like these where the music fits the enivroment instead of a bunch of repeated tracks.

  • @Luciferminusone OoT music was okay that way, each game has its style and you can't fit this kind of music in a zelda game

  • @MrMidget92 I understand they don't *need* it but what I meant was that these games have a *main track* that plays and several sub tracks that is the same melody but different instruments and tempo to match the mood that OOT didn't have.

There could've easily been several Kokiri Forest varations to the point you wouldn't EVEN realize it's the same song unless you payed close attention....kinda like how Saria's Song is in Wind Waker Forest Haven yet you have to pay extra attention to hear it.

  • this is my ringtone, it's successfully pissed off my friend who hated this game....thus the 2nd reason its my ringtone, 1st is THIS GAME ROCKS THE BLEEPING WORLD!!!

  • anyone noticed that the boss music are faster remix's of the level's music

  • my favorite games on 64 was donkey kong 64 super mario 64 rayman 2 banjo kazooie :D

  • 0 dislikes. Why? Cuz this game waz perfect

  • Best Song in DK64

  • I love this song, but is it actually Aztec sounding?

  • @85ihateposeurs Hardly...the melody resembles stereotypical egyptian-like music as we know it...

  • @m0thie I was right then! hahaha

  • @m0thie actually the whole level concept is more egyptian i couldnt find anything that would indicate aztec influence on this level

  • I remember being really young, and all I wanted to do was unlock lanky kong. but at that age, i hadn't yet learned that you needed to beat the boss in order to progress in platforming games. and after I did, i took me forever to figure out what to do with the key from the jungle japes. long story short, when i finally made it to angry aztec, and I saw lanky needed saving, I was SO excited, even more when i unlocked him! To this day he is my favoire kong, i wish they'd include him in more games!

  • Good shit right here.

  • This brings me back... to when I was 7 years old. That's right, exactly one decade ago!

    =)

  • Haha, shit I remember the temple each Kong had to enter and steal the golden banana, then once you had that creepy voice came and said "Get out". Always shit myself as a kid when doing that part, I think I may have gotten dad to do it.

  • i wish nintendo would make new games 4 n64 and nes^^

  • I still can't beat the scarab -_-. Maybe i just suck at video games in general XD.

  • 1:25 sounds like a part of a song from the old Star Trek series.

  • I always thought the slow part came before the faster one....

  • omgggggggggggg soo many memories! they dont make games like they used to

  • @Fzero4life I completely and utterly agree!!!!!!

  • omg good times and memories :)

  • BZZZZZZZZZZ *fires grape shooter* Put put put....... *watermelon slices appear*

  • this beat should be made into some trancy techno beat, i wonder if that works out. If it doesn't i will stick to this, favourite tune of this game for me :D!

  • one of the best games ever, now games are just made for the purpose of making a lot of money, and not to innovate. not even music anymore.

  • @JoiDrums

    That's so true :/ I miss games like DK64.

  • so many memories

  • someone NEEDS to upload these songs to limewire

  • @stevjak lol,limewire has viruses.xD

  • angry aztec and gobi's valley 4rm banjo-kazooie are alot similar

  • Yes. Both songs are very Ʀare.

  • DELICIOUS MUSIC

  • It Sounds Similar to Mayhem temple's Theme in Banjo-Tooie

  • It's quite likely, it's by the same game developer.

  • In this level, I think they over did it with the quicksand, its all over the place, and more than half the damage I take is from landing in it carelessly >.>

  • This level was almost exactly like Gobi's desert from BK64. It even had the tombs with timers where you would die if it ran out. Hated those Bananas...

  • the games were both made by rare.

  • My cousins never got far in this game and this level is the reason why. You know how you need to use diddys guitar to open that one wall? They thought the guitar was a wand XD

  • hahaha i used to hate playing this level because of the sand blowing around in it XD i would always squint my eyes and it'd make me wanna sneeze. awesome song though, i love it!

  • very nice sound from nice game

  • I HATED being here and having to go to Cranky Kong's house and walking past those SCARY freakin' frowned faces as a kid. I used to put my head down and walk forward because I was so terrified.

  • the even scarier part was those dark hallway things in that building that each kong went through. it was dark and people popped out, then at the end someone shouts GET OUT. lol

  • Donkey Kong 64, Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie and others have the best soundtracks ever

  • Exactly you are so right!!!

  • excellent soundtrack, but missing songs =( like lanky kong vs ghost pumpkin in crystal cabes or tiny vs a bug in angry aztec thats a very funny themes jejeje , please up load all themes of this awezome games greeting for Chile friend =)

  • @nawaf10soccer And its's all thanks too Grant Kirkhope.

  • Master

  • the funny thing is that they all are the same-ish in their own cool way

  • @francisjavi07 ye not to mention some of the best N64 games ever

  • @francisjavi07

Totally, Koji Kondo and Grant Kirkhope are the best composers ever <3

  • @francisjavi07 zelda!! oot!

  • @francisjavi07 Its that Graeme Norgate guy, he did all the music for all those games

  • @KaptinScuzgob Incorrect, Grant Kirkhope did BT, BK, and DK64. Koji Kondo did SM64 and Yuka Tujiyoko did Paper Mario. :)

  • @francisjavi07 basically the soundtrack to my childhood

  • @francisjavi07 Anything on the N64 has the best soundtracks. Fact.

  • @francisjavi07 Yeah I love all the ones you mentioned. Ocarina of Time had a really good one as well. I'd say Banjo Kazooie had the best

  • @francisjavi07 conkers bad fur day?

  • @francisjavi07 I'm not sure about Mario 64... it's music wasn't that great (barring the Bowser level theme, I loved that one) but I definitely agree with the rest of your statement... mostly. I've always found Jrpgs to have better music but then again, to each his own =)

  • this playlist is nostalgia

  • Favorite song from favorite level,.

  • best music in the game

  • Hehe, I used to think the llama in this level was a camel. =P

  • Well....Banjo-Tooie was made later, but Mumbo's Mountain is from Banjo-Kazooie, which was made earlier.

  • HA i LOVED this lvl!

  • my fav level great music this game is really cool but confusing at the same time

  • it would be cool if the dogadon boss would be as an help trophy or a boss :)

  • i really miss this music, my fav theme in the game

    5/5
