@kjw21411 It goes all the way back to 1981. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Donkey Kong, wanted to make the character's name sound like a stubborn monkey. However, he looked in an English dictionary and thought that donkey was a synonym for stubborn (kind of like a stubborn mule). It is called Donkey Kong because of a translation error. Hope that clears things up.
@MrMidget92 I understand they don't *need* it but what I meant was that these games have a *main track* that plays and several sub tracks that is the same melody but different instruments and tempo to match the mood that OOT didn't have.
There could've easily been several Kokiri Forest varations to the point you wouldn't EVEN realize it's the same song unless you payed close attention....kinda like how Saria's Song is in Wind Waker Forest Haven yet you have to pay extra attention to hear it.
this is my ringtone, it's successfully pissed off my friend who hated this game....thus the 2nd reason its my ringtone, 1st is THIS GAME ROCKS THE BLEEPING WORLD!!!
I remember being really young, and all I wanted to do was unlock lanky kong. but at that age, i hadn't yet learned that you needed to beat the boss in order to progress in platforming games. and after I did, i took me forever to figure out what to do with the key from the jungle japes. long story short, when i finally made it to angry aztec, and I saw lanky needed saving, I was SO excited, even more when i unlocked him! To this day he is my favoire kong, i wish they'd include him in more games!
Haha, shit I remember the temple each Kong had to enter and steal the golden banana, then once you had that creepy voice came and said "Get out". Always shit myself as a kid when doing that part, I think I may have gotten dad to do it.
this beat should be made into some trancy techno beat, i wonder if that works out. If it doesn't i will stick to this, favourite tune of this game for me :D!
In this level, I think they over did it with the quicksand, its all over the place, and more than half the damage I take is from landing in it carelessly >.>
This level was almost exactly like Gobi's desert from BK64. It even had the tombs with timers where you would die if it ran out. Hated those Bananas...
My cousins never got far in this game and this level is the reason why. You know how you need to use diddys guitar to open that one wall? They thought the guitar was a wand XD
hahaha i used to hate playing this level because of the sand blowing around in it XD i would always squint my eyes and it'd make me wanna sneeze. awesome song though, i love it!
I HATED being here and having to go to Cranky Kong's house and walking past those SCARY freakin' frowned faces as a kid. I used to put my head down and walk forward because I was so terrified.
the even scarier part was those dark hallway things in that building that each kong went through. it was dark and people popped out, then at the end someone shouts GET OUT. lol
excellent soundtrack, but missing songs =( like lanky kong vs ghost pumpkin in crystal cabes or tiny vs a bug in angry aztec thats a very funny themes jejeje , please up load all themes of this awezome games greeting for Chile friend =)
@francisjavi07 I'm not sure about Mario 64... it's music wasn't that great (barring the Bowser level theme, I loved that one) but I definitely agree with the rest of your statement... mostly. I've always found Jrpgs to have better music but then again, to each his own =)

I've always wondered, why do they call it Donkey Kong when it's about monkeys, or are they apes? Anyway, wouldn't Monkey Kong make more sense?
kjw21411 5 months ago
@kjw21411 To quote Farnsworth from Futurama, "Monkeys aren't donkeys! Stop playing with our heads!"

@SonicBrawler77 So how come it was never corrected?
kjw21411 5 months ago
@kjw21411 I guess because it was a catchy name that sold well in the 1981 arcade.

Why couldn't Zelda OOT music be like these where the music fits the enivroment instead of a bunch of repeated tracks.
Luciferminusone 9 months ago
@Luciferminusone OoT music was okay that way, each game has its style and you can't fit this kind of music in a zelda game
