  • True, great Siberian power. Opera house walls are in great peril of collapsing with him singing!

  • He can sing easily as well, but he hasNn't got a lot sense of humor.

  • @marokt

What do soft westerners expect; he's from Soviet Siberia! That he lived to survive is about the only "happiness" those dear ones ever have, but I've heard he's a loving husband, and daddy to his two kids, most important.

  • questa è una vocetta.

  • Ottimo baritono leggero

  • casual A flat.... why not. SO FOOOKING AMAZING!

  • Bravo!

  • His today's voice is much deeper, "darker''.Anyway, very nice.

  • THIS VERSION IS MARVELLOUS

but i like his "OLDER" voice MUSH MUSH BETTER

  • In Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini's time it was commonplace for singers to improvise or write their own cadenzas in order for them to use it as a showpiece and the composers actually expected the singers to do so. Saying that this is not the original cadence sounds a bit amateur since the one given by Donizetti is simply a guide or an option should the singer not possess the skill or have the time to make up one of his own.

  • haha! yeah it's true

  • The whole purpose of the cadenza is to show off your own personal artistry. What is written is just a rough outline of what you should sing. It's perfectly acceptable to make your own cadenza.

  • this is not the written cadenza, it is 2 notes higher

  • I agree.. but its not 2 notes higher. Till he gets the high Fa its ok. Then its completely different.

  • Wonderful! Thanks for posting. Dmitri is awesome .

  • you're welcome. Indeed he is!

  • those were the days...

  • What theory?

  • it's just for fun: one "theory" says that the tenor is the lover in the opera but that the bass (and baritone) gets the girls at the end of the show.

  • Don't we basses and baritones wish! Although, the funny thing is that I saw a Flair on Facebook of Bryn Terfel singing and the caption said "HEY! COME BACK WITH MY WOMAN, TENOR!"

  • @jhvorotin hell ya! verily, verily, the bass and baritones shall get the girls at the end of the show :)

  • @jhvorotin The theory in question doesn't just apply to the opera :)

  • @jhvorotin the theory must have been inspired by Dmitri :)

  • Another baritone who proves my theory :-)

  • @sarahcyn who else is there for you? i ask to know whether i missed them:-)) somehow or nott.
